Winter chores don’t get better than this. In a couple years, we’re going to get a fixer-upper and rebuild it together. He’d spend all day around the tractor if he could.

Happy Birthday Big Guy. I hope you don’t mind me sharing once again one of my favorite pics of you and Emory... May God bless you both throughout the upcoming year!

Thanks guys! You beat my wife to the punch. Before we left for work, my wife simply said “Is today your birthday?” Somehow I gotta feeling she forgot! You would have read my obituary if I forgot hers though😂!

My family sold Allis Chalmers tractors (dad , grandpa owners and I also worked there) I later on installed HVAC equipment. So there’s a double meaning for mine. Was wondering what the name change was all about Jim @Madgex21 .... only took four months to get the callouses and pipe dope of my hands. Doctors asked what the heck I did for my hands like that, so I told them I actually worked for a living.

So i have been working on my top secret custom the last couple weeks and i have been throwing around my lighting issues of modern vs traditional headlights, i have chosen HL5 's. I couldnt find a good comparison of filament vs led bulbs in the HL5 setup so i thought i would try some myself and share them with you. My main goals were brightness and low amp draw because there will be used on a pullstart motor and a small battery. I found these bulbs on fleabay i thought the led panel might be nicer than a bulb because of surface area they come with the interchangeable bases too. They fit inside nicely I will have to wait on the longevity test till it gets nicer out So here is the biggest perk, look at how small that amp draw is! Here are the light output comparisons the box is about 2 ft away across the bench Standard Filament bulb LED panel bulbs I hope this helps someone out if they are trying to decide to go to leds

I have no idea what would or wouldn’t fit, but have wondered why no one has tried to install a 2 or 3 cylinder Kubota in a D250.

The 1st 3 are the 857...the last one is the 876. terry, like Shannon said...you have to disconnect the throttle cable. You can adjust the engine speed by where that pinch clip pinches the throttle cable. It can allow you to pull the throttle out further by where you pinch the outer cable. check it out.

This was my thought exactly!!! A nice lil turbo charged Kubota or Yanmar should shoe horn in nicely. If you don't like diesel power you could also go with a liquid cooled Yanmar gas. Either way I would think that most any engine could be made to work, with a little ingenuity. @mr biggs you may also want to go on to My Old Machine to see what kind of modification's the guys across the pond have done with their Gutbrod tractors.

It had been sitting quite a while since it last was run, there a slight chance it could have a stuck ring. Spray a good amount of carb cleaner down the spark plug hole and let it sit a few days. You might flick the flywheel back and forth a tiny amount to work the cleaner and rings Before you start it upsquirt a small amount of oil in cyl to lube it back up then spin it over with the starter to blow excess cleaner and oil out

Had a up close and personal encounter with a "Saw Palmetto" which is appropriately named. Several inch long cut on my hand, so I did what any self respecting Man would do and covered with on hand products, blue shop towel and electrical tape. ER nurse saw this and said "Oh look, a Man-Daid." I guess she has seen a lot of these home remedy band-aids in her day. She said she prefers electrical tape over duct tape as it is easier to remove and clean wound.Just an FYI if you have both tapes on hand.

Ya know you ain't too far off Digger... just to please the SWMBO I once watched a program on the boob tube with her on judgeing dogs and livestock. It was said that if a animal has an HONORABLE scar it cannot be used against grading the animal. That said being injured during resto of a horse HAS to be honorable right?

So the other day I posted about loosing seat time to my oldest son Aiden who is 9. He plowed a bunch of my parents yard with my 753. Well after seeing that post @ebinmaine generously gave him a plow that I was picking up in New York for him along with a rolling chasis and a snow thrower for myself from @Herder. Well when Aiden got home this afternoon from ice fishing he wanted me to install the plow so he could use it. For the time being it is on my Bronco 14 but once I fix the engine on his 1277 it will be mounted to that. I have wheel weights I am gonna install on it this week since he is so light (I don't have that problem) This summer I hope we can work together cleaning it up and painting it. As of right now tho he is one happy kid. He would still be out plowing in the yard if we didn't have a super bowl party to go to. @ebinmaine thanks so much from Aiden and I since I can now get seat time again! I threw a picture of his 1277 in for good measure.

It's good to spend time with the grandchildren. My eldest's daughters boy's, Now 27, 19 and 18 used to spend a lot of time here. Eldest is now in the navy and married. Now see very little of the other two. So make the most of the time with your grandchildren. They grow up fast.

A lot of posts with great photos of kids and tractors. Undoubtedly they will be the next caretakers of these machines. We should create a section just dedicated to kids and their tractors where they could also participate. In the very least lets create a calendar just with the kids.

We find that green always grows where we don't want weeds and the grass never grows in the very few places that we would actually like it too. if I could figure out how to switch that around I probably would become an instant millionaire.

A few minutes ago, I suggested to cut a SHIM from and pop can. Realizing that a beer can may be more readily available to some members.... Bud Light or Coors would be suitable.

She took a spill on Sunday night. Ice packs and ACE wraps haven’t done much help, so it’s time to get it checked. We don’t want gymnastics or skiing to do any more harm..

I had a 312-A with the 12 HP Kohler magnum on it. I adjusted the valves on it, and then it started leaking oil around the valve cover. So I pulled it down again and used new gaskets and put it back together again, Then it started to smoke, I thought I don't remember it ever smoking this bad before. So after talking to some people I pulled it apart one more time and found I had put it back together wrong had the one piece in upside down. I think I had it apart 3 or 4 times before I got it straightened out. Once I fixed it it quit smoking. So it would definitely be worth taking it apart and checking it out. Check a manual to make sure you get it right the first time, unlike me lol eric j

Theoretically it was time for a Pic. yes in theorie, but i forgot to Fill some Diesel in my Supporter, firstly it do a small testride in the Fields, to look how it goes into deep Snow without Chains. I was amazed, 4WD and diff lock is absolutely amazing.. but short befor i was back, it runns out of Fuel.. 😎🙄 i must recover it from an unpleasure Stay. if i finished, it was to dark to make a Pic. Have to put it beside, because our Neighbour wants to move the mass of Snow further in the Fields and he was take care not to hurt my loved Machines with his Big "Monster" Honestly it was sure a funny Pic with the small Horse pulls the bigger supporter... It's not moving fast, like more a "try to dig" with it on Hook but finally my little Horse Managed it. i'm proud of my Horse and the Engineswap was a perfect decision. ok, tomorrow i must kept some Fuel, once Diesel for the supporter and Once Super for the Horse... - have bad taste about bleed the Diesel... damn.. 🙄🚜😢🤔
