Well I had found out about this machine about a month ago. Finally was able to meet up with the guy this morning. He's got to move somethings so I can go pick it up. But wanted one for awhile and finally got one!!! It's ether a 1948 or 1949. Super excited to get it home and start playing with it.

I added the hitch and built my own weight hanger. I planned to brace it off of the loader sub frame, and I still may, but it is really stout the way it is.

Son got the 520 Wheel-a-Matic with the snowblower out and ready along with the Kubota BX2230 w/FEL and back blade . First time one of the Horses has been touched since last March. Don’t have a current pic but here’s one while it was patiently waiting. Will get some current pics tomorrow. Maybe some action shots or video depending how accurate the weatherman is .

So I recently picked up a 1991 520H and was looking forward to having full instrumentation, but the tachometer was non-functioning. After some troubleshooting (using this site), it appears as the actual tachometer is burnt up. After this discovery, I searched for a replacement and found this place selling new Toro tachometers (part #78-006) for a reasonable price. I haven't hooked mine up yet, but did receive it and looks perfect, Not my site, not my product. Just thought that I would share. https://www.marine-surplus.com/product/teleflex-marine-toro-0-4000-rpm-tachometer-gauge-78-0060/ -Scott

I recently picked this tractor and loader up, haven't got to do much with it because of the weather. I bought it for the loader, I've been wanting one for a long time I even considered building one. I plan on putting the loader on my 520H (I'm currently waiting on a hydro pedal from Matt), this should be a nice set-up! The tractor it's on is a C-141 I was told, it's not a big enough tractor for a loader, the front axle's are already toed out and I can barely steer it and that's with nothing in the bucket. Does anyone recognize this loader, what brand? It seems well built and is self leveling.

Well i got over to look at the 416H and saw that it did have an 48in deck, chrome hubcaps. Checked oil was good, hydro fluid was good, rear tires well I dont think I have ever saw a set so bald..lol. We put the key in it and after some cranking she fired up. Carb will need cleaning as we needed choke to keep it running at first. Top of hood is missing paint but all in all not a bad looking tractor. Has the mounts for a snow blade installed. I pointed out every thing I could find that was bad and then said if he would take 240.00 I would haul it away. Drove it up my ramps..(never again) as it pulled a wheelie half way up and he had to grab the front and yank it back down. But I think I did OK an with very little effort I can flip it this spring.

I prefer to guess the amount. That way when I exaggerate a bit i don't feel like I'm stretching the truth. At least I don't know if I am. LOL

Thanks man! Groceries got. Gas on hand. Propane tank full. Wood stove happy. Just waiting for the flakes to start falling. I'll let her know to keep the camera fired up.

Hello all, Here in Western PA, ( about 30 miles North West of Pittsburgh), we are being told that we can expect anywhere from 10 to 18 inches of snow. It is to hit us around 0400Hrs Saturday and stick around until 1300Hrs Sunday. The more snow we get, the least chance of ICE. I hope we get ALL snow, ICE scares me. I will get some pics for you guys tomorrow Post some pics of your snow this weekend... PS. I see Eric in Maine is to get FEET of snow. His horses will get a workout. I hope that everyone stays safe, and enjoys the snow. .

The first time my wife saw snow (she was born and raised in Miami FL) she told her sister that we had a foot of snow because it was deep enough to cover her foot!

Thanks for the offer, but I actually bought 2 through the link. They look new and in perfect shape. I just need to get one hooked up now...

Well I still don’t know what the future holds for “Rusty” but last night I cut the butchered hood and hinge off it and put the right grille back on it. At least it looks more like a gt14. The engine is froze up but I’m not sure if it is a valve hung up or if the piston is locked tight. Have to pull the head. May stuff the magnum 12 I have in it just to test the hydro. If thats good, there might be hope for Rusty yet.👍 Definitely can use it for patina practice.

People that do this kind of thing are exactly the same ones that have a two car garage. With two cars. With them outside. Because the garage is stuffed full of crap.

Sadly Jim passed away back in 2006, his son has everything now and sadly it has went downhill, I can remember when it was still kept up and a lot of his pieces were still there, a lot of them are gone now and the place has been grown over in weeds and brush for years. Towards the end of this video you can see the old truck I hauled today back when it still had all its tires and maybe even still had the motor and transmission in it, I did snap a couple more pics while I was scrounging around for some blocks to put under the old truck, I figured y'all would really enjoy the homemade tractor, and the old crane is pretty cool too. Troy had big plans a few years ago that he and I were gonna get that crane running again, but he never could come up with the funding to make it happen. If I get a chance I'll try to get some more pics of the pieces that are still around there and share them with y'all

Here's a video from the OKC news several years ago regarding one of the Jimmy Birds, it still keeps an eye on Gage from its perch on the water tower today

My 416-8 hangs quite a bit of weight off the back. Not sure how much the backhoe weighs but it's HEAVY (all 3/16" and 1/4" steel). Probably heavier than most hang off there and there hasn't been a problem yet. Plus the action of the hoe in use adds a bit more stress and can be abusive as well. Just support it properly and you should be good.

Got the economy tractor running today. It took three people to get her pushed into the shop. WOW, heavy. Post some pics this weekend.

The one just posted in Redsquare classifieds. Drjarvis. Anyway, the 800 Commando is a nice straight machine. He kept the rear tires and seat and the front end is tight. Just a few electrical gremlins to solve. it runs pretty well. he wanted to keep some parts to get the price down for a quick sale, and I really did not need those Ag Tires and seat, so win-win A nice polite seller. And also a member here. He did mention what a terrific person vinylguy is and also some of the original forum members as well. So I am doing OK in my goal of having 3 working mowers by spring....

I will upload some video for sure when I get it home. It sat in the tired iron tractor museum locally for awhile. The when they closed and auctioned everything off In 2012, the gentlemen bought it and he has had it since. So it's gonna need a good go over for sure. But I think it's gonna be fun!

Denny: I see Webb Sickle Service in Nebraska changed their name to Webb Cutting Components, Inc. They still have the correct 2 inch replacement sickle bar mower blades that fit the Wheel Horse front cutter bars (for RJ's and Suburbans) and the 42 and 50 inch Wheel Horse sickle bars. FYI https://www.cuttingcomponents.com/jari-replacement-section-102500-2-w-x-2-13-16-h-3-16-hole-on-1-3-8-centers.html

@pullstart You got a good woman and you can tell her I said so Alot of the time when people ask me a question like... Why would I want all my stuff under cover?.... I don't even bother to explain very much because I know they don't have the mindset to understand the answer. Generally speaking if you take care of anything you have, it obviously is going to last longer on average. We view the things that we have as long-term Equipment. These are repairable 'n maintainable not disposable. If someone looks at the things that we are using and sees it as just an old tractor you tell them to stop asking silly questions and go to a big box store so they can buy a lawn mower.

Does anybody else have a beaver! The garden tractor that is! I have 3 of them. They were my late dads! They are the most unique tractors. My late dads family had them when he was a kid! the last 2 photos are my grandpa henry bottjer pulling my dad around when he was a kid, then my great grandpa pulling him around. I have a rope start, electric start, and one with a hood and steering wheel! The tractors i have are from the 50's and early 60's if i remember correctly. My late adopted dad was born in 1962.

In the gutter as usual. There is a nice write about Beavers in the latest issue of LAGT for those interested.

Sad to see things go to rot .! The world we live is what I call a disposable world. They would sooner go buy a new rather to take care of what they have or even repair!

Lost a (conventional) headlight on my GT 1600 so I figured why not do an LED upgrade. I swapped both lights but in the pics your looking at one LED and one conventional bulb.

Was sitting around the shop this morning bored with nothing to do, when the phone rang for a tow. If any of you know anything about the towing industry, you know that there is never a routine call and every job is a new experience. Today's job was to haul this old wrecker from where it has been parked since 1984 out to the owner's farm north of town. Kinda broke mine and a lot of the people in towns hearts to see it leave, while some may consider it an eyesore, most of us saw it as a landmark in town. It belonged to a guy here that had a salvage yard and also did a lot of junk metal art, and had a lot of it displayed at the yard where this truck was sitting. But the city had other ideas and told the owner he had to move it or bring the tags up to date on it. For more info about our local artist Jim Powers and to see some of his work check out this link https://www.powersville.net/jimmydalepowers/index.html And now for all the In the background of one of the pictures you can see Jim's dinosaur made from old wheels. That dinosaur and this truck were two of the major landmarks the locals would give people not familiar with the area looking for the intersection of SH15 and SH46

....I see no problem just more fun playing with Horses! As you probably have figured out there is no cure for this addiction just more tractors. Congrats on your purchase .

Always, always always BACK UP A RAMP. @rmaynard can tell you why! The fuel pump should be checked out too. The pump is higher than the tank and if the check valves are leaking by it can be hard for it to pull a good prime. Nice buy!

We are looking at 8-14" here in western mass. They have been dropping their estimates all day. My 416h is ready with the 2 stage and my 753 is ready with the plow. By the time I get home I'm sure I wont want to do any of it with the tractors. Boss already said 1 to 2 am start Sunday morning. Then out by noon and back as soon as it finishes before the flash freeze.

Wonder if he could have put a big "For Sale" sign on it and tell the city he was absolutely sure it would sell any day now! He seems like a real cool dude.

The snow horses are ready...but when they talk it up it rarely is as bad as they say. The cold next week that is going to be interesting

Welcome to Red Square. Just to make sure you are talking about the hydro valve in the hoodstand that operates the mid mount and 3 point, not the control valve for the Arc Loader. You could contact A-Z tractor to see if has any used ones. In the vendor section here. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/forum/169-a-z-tractor/ Another way would be to take teh valve to a hydraulic repair place they could most likely fix you up.

Only thing at our house in the weather is the mower decks that came with the tractors. And that’s not for much longer. Our house is cluttered (not to “Hoarders” level, by far lol), not dirty, but cluttered. We moved in with my FIL after my MIL passed, so we had to get two families worth of stuff into a one family home. That’s not easy. I hold onto a lot of things, coming from a very large German/Catholic farming family, we have more people in the ground than above. Being the oldest grandchild, I’ve come into a lot of things from people who’ve passed. My wife was the only grandkid for 22 years, so she’s come into a lot of things from memebers of her family that have passed. Maybe that ones out because there’s something with more meaning to them in the shed. Maybe that’s where it was when someone got the call about a family emergency and with everything else going on it’s the last of their worries at the moment 🤷🏻‍♂️

Here you go Jimmy... 15" bottom to bend, lynch pin hole 1" from bottom ,14" from top to bend, rod hole 1" from top when bent correctly at 10" up you'll be about 2" from engine tin and 3" away at the vertical parallel area...the crank rod (is 36" to hand bend) it is the same as the tall chute single but I added an extension (10-12") to get inside cab...hope this gets you in the ball park I also made a little extension to lower the crank rod to make it more accessible turning in the older cab without the pocketed doors.

That’s nice . I really like the tank to the frame set up. You could probably sell a bunch of them.
