Thanks Ritchie. I’m just happy to have him here this morning. That was the scariest thing I’ve ever been through! I did finish assembly this morning on the tractor in time to get a few hours sleep. He’s happy, even if it’s not running. I’m sure it’s something simple, I’m just not sure what. Engine charges good and is strong, just a hard start and surging issue. I’ll check it a little more later this week. Here are a couple of pics of him on it. Thanks to everybody who has helped me on this project, @oliver2-44, @oldredrider, @Vinylguy, and many others!

Soon to be the newest RedSquare member. My gift to my girl. She saw the Suburbans at the Big Show and fell in love 🥰. So I surprised her with a 1960 400 for Christmas. She was so excited! Merry Christmas to all at RedSquare 🎄🎄

Thought that I would start a post for sharing our favorite Christmas gifts. One of mine was a cup painted by @19richie66, Great job Richie. Seems she doesn't get involved on Redsquare, I give my wife kudos for doing the research to get a hold of Richie. I have a feeling that @WHX21 may deserve a thanks for helping her out also. Merry Christmas all !!

Seems 4 HP is plenty to pull a 14" single if you have 16 wheel drive and 6000 lbs of weight. My new neighbor was turning some stubbles under this Christmas Eve. Sorry for the poor quality video...I lost my good camera. VID_20181224_163135.mp4

Sorry about the long post but here is the latest update on Scottie’s recovery!!!! Chapter 2 Day 1 Scottie arrived home on Sunday around 2 pm. He was greeted by his 3 puppies and his older brothers! Once we got Scottie situated and in his new bed he fell asleep since the trip home was exhausting. Scottie had his normal visitors later in the evening. Which helped him being more comfortable at home. Chapter 2 Day 2 Well Scottie was up again last night with pain in his hip and in his clavicle. He had a hard time going back to sleep but once his medication kicks in he is fine. He has a positive attitude despite what he is going through. We are closely monitoring his urine output and his BM’s. I have to consistently remind him to drink his water and to eat something as there are times he forgets. During the day his normal activity consists of sleeping in until nine, eating when he is hungry, taking his medication, watching movies, repositioning so his bottom don’t break down, playing games, and being apart of our family and seeing who is visiting him for the day. Scottie opened his presents and he was excited to have a Green Bay Packer Christmas. He got a blanket, sweat pants, socks, a banner, and an Aaron Rodgers jersey! Two games to play with when his friends come over, and more clothes from other people. Chapter 2 Day 3 Scottie woke up in pain (6/10) because his stomach hurt and he felt sick. Come to find out he had to pass gas and have a BM. Once he achieved that task, he slowly started to feel better. Scottie had a surprise visitor this morning who brought him his Christmas gift. Jacob (His best friend) came to spend the day with Scottie. Scottie and Jacob played 3-4 different games and watched movies on Christmas Day!

Being Christmas and all I had plans to change the oil in all the horses and put bows on the steering wheels but the wife convinced me that my thinking was flawed and should help in the house. She gave me that look, you know the one I am talking about. Maybe tomorrow.

Eric @ebinmaine has covered it very well. The 5060 Transaxles in the 1067, 1267, 1968 Raider 10 and Raider 12 are ten pinion limited slit. In 1969 the 5071 transaxle was used in the Raider 10 and 12 with the ten pinion limited slip. Also, the 5073 Transaxle in the 1970 to 1973 Raider 10, 12 and 14 as well as the 1973 Raider 14 have the the limited slip ten pinion units. In 1974 only the Raider 14 used the 5073. The Sundstrand 90-2046 in the 1968 to 1973 Charger, Electro and Bronco were equipped with the ten pinion limited slip as well as the Sundstrand 90-2062 used in the GT-14. These were all Hydrogear, none were piston to piston. One of the many outstanding features of is the interchangeability of parts. You can use the ten pinion (if you can find one) in a variety of older and newer transaxles that have 1 1/8" axles. On the older ones you will need to cut a groove for a snap ring in place of the roll pin in your axles as seem below.

That’s amazing Ed. I know it’s not that common to see such a site today, but just imagine that used to be seen all across the country. Amazing training to get those animals to work together like that. Beautiful to see. Almost makes me wish I was born a hundred years ago ... ALMOST. Harkens back to a time when men were men.

Extremely sorry to hear about Emory's health issues and I'm very glad to see that he could be home for Christmas. May God keep him healthy & safe. He looks quite proud of his tractor, what a great gift. Excellent work on it. As for your running issue, I noticed something in this pic that may or may not be the issue. I can't quite make out the wording written on the coil, but does it say that it requires a resistor wire or external resistor? If it does say that then you either need to add the resistor or replace the coil with one that has an internal resistor. Merry Christmas!!

You can install the limited slip diff spring in the 8 pinion 1 1/8" transmissions as well. That is a stronger solution, and works on both hydro and manuals, as the diff part is the same. Lowell would have all you need, spring and gaskets etc. When you have it apart, check bearings and bushings as well

Little Emory asked me on the way home if I would work on his tractor tonight. I couldn’t tell him no. I rebuilt the carb and that helped a little. There is still a little something with the ignition or fuel. It’s hard to start and searches as it runs. I’ve tried two sets of points, two condensers, and two fuel pumps. I’m sure it is something simple that my exhausted brain can’t understand. I may have to make a little trip to see @oldredrider soon and get him to help diagnose it and work his magic. I don’t mind a trip for Emory at this point. I’ve almost got all of his decals and finishing touches on, so he can see it in the morning. I told Dad that the only thing that matters to me now is that Emory enjoy his Christmas. Today has put a whole new perspective on everything! Gotta go finish before Santa catches me. Merry Christmas! Pics to come tomorrow.
