18 pointsSo Scottie is still having his fevers at night and the team is thinking that they are caused by the hematoma in his pelvic area. They want to make sure before we leave that they covered all basis. Scottie has started therapy and he has mastered the sliding board, right foot pivot transfer and getting in and out of a vehicle. Lowell and I have learned how to assist him with his transfers and his daily activities. We have the hospital bed at home and tomorrow (Saturday) we will be getting his wheel chair, commode, and sliding board. With the help from God, maybe we can be home for Christmas! I want to apologize for not updating you for a couple of days but I have been learning how to care for Scottie and sleeping when I can, so I can be strong for Scottie.

15 pointsLast night Scottie was fever free!!! Praise the Lord!!! However, he experienced more pain during the night. He has some fractured ribs that is causing him pain and his pelvic area was hurting him along with his legs. As long as we stay on top of his pain, he does fine. Ok so now we are going to start a new chapter of Scottie’s recovery as we are going home tomorrow. Please pray that he continues to get stronger and he heals mentally and physically. We also ask for prayers to make our family a stronger unit and that we rally around Scottie to heal. Our next chapter will be a long road but with God by our side we can do anything!

7 pointsAs much as I would love to try this... I don't think it's in my best interest. Trina's a black belt....

6 pointsI just have my wife hold the spark plug wire. She told me that is what she had to do for her dad while growing up! Seriously….this is the one I use

6 pointsOoooo!! Your are looking for some thing practical. Here I was trying to find you an old Massey with cable lift on the arms and a trip bucket. This one does have forks.

5 pointsWe since I'm on the road I don't have any tractors with me. We are sitting for 6 months in Florida in an RV park, so I brought along my original 1975 Schwinn Stingray five-speed that was mine since new. It was in need of some attention so I tore it apart and started re-doing it. It needed new tires, brake shoes, cables and some new screws/bolts here and there. I switched the original thumb shift to the Krate style "Stik Shift" which is more desirable if you are familiar with the old Stingrays. Anyway here are some pics. Before Polished front rim and brake caliper New sneakers I'll post some more as I go. Not a tractor, but it's all I got

5 pointsA while ago, i suggested that my oldest (5 years old) should probably get her haircut i thought it was pretty long, she told me she was growing it out to so she could donate it to Locks of Love. For those who dont know this charity makes hair wigs for children with cancer and you need to donate a minimum of 10 inches in a pony tail for them to make a wig. This gesture of kindness in my 5 year old makes me glow on the inside, and she is getting pretty close to her goal.

4 pointsThis year our previously "material girl" granddaughter (14 years old) has finally proven that she gets it. When she was asked what she wanted for Christmas she wanted to "Adopt" a needy family and make their holiday memorable. She is working through her church and has used every penny she has been given by grandparents and other relatives for gifts and food for this family. We are so proud of her maturity and selfless attitude.

4 pointsOur prayers were answered. Mark had his post chemo CT scan on Monday and we just reviewed the results with his medical team this afternoon. He is clear and no further treatment is scheduled, although he will have a CT scan every three months. Thank you all for your support and please continue to direct your prayers to those who are still fighting this battle. Merry Christmas

3 pointsI built a coil tester when I was at Napa. Made a stand out of wood, Got a Chevy V-8 points distributor some wire , the adjustable spark tester I showed previous and one very "special" piece. A bracket from a west coast mirror. You hooked up a battery, connected the coil you wanted tested, and spun the distributor. If you got a spark at the spark tester, the coil was good. Now for that "special " piece. It was used as a ground point for testing GM HEI coils. You set the coil near it and spun the dist. and the spark would jump to the flat surface of the bracket. It would throw it quite a ways. One time one of the counter guys was hooking up a coil and the other counter guy was talking to the customer all the while moving that dist. gear. The guy hooking up the coil kept getting zapped! . Another time a guy brings in an HEI coil to test. Just as the dist was spun he grabs that mirror bracket. He ended up on the floor!

3 pointsDo you mean a spark tester? I like these inline models. 2nd one has an adjustable gap with engine running I use this one to see if the spark is dropping out. All these are available at Napa

3 points( HP=$ ), this is my favorite formula when talking about squeezing more horse power out of an engine. It will cost money for the up grades and then more money for the up keep. If you are building the engine to be a worker then I would stay stock. 14HP is more than you'll be able to put to the ground on your tractor. If you don't have to depend on the use of the tractor then let the sky (or your wallet) be the limit. JMO

3 pointsYou have 21 tractors and need a bigger one? Just weld 3 Wh's together and by your wife a nice used Lexus convertible if your pocket is on fire!

3 pointsNo pics of mine, but it was the same as the 65 AMC shows but in gold. It was the only big thing I can remember getting for Christmas as a kid. Money was tight and my Dad tricked me thinking I didn't get anything. It snowed and I took it out anyway. Not good but I rode it! I cut grass in the spring, saved up, and got me a slick drag tire for the rear. I can remember hanging my ball glove on the handle bars and peddling across town and playing away games. (same kids, different ball field!) thanks Zeek, that bikes bringing back some good memories!

3 pointsLooking good there Zeekster. Started my '65 Stingray resto back in 2003... and it's still awaiting paint, currently sitting down in the basement with the Mrs Rules' original Fair Lady. We still enjoy riding them, though on a vary rare occasion these days. Good to hear, you and the Mrs Zeek are doing OK.

3 pointsI had it made. Tim Hamilton from Auburn, MA made it. He did a great job. I gave him a D200 tank to make it after.

2 pointsIn a society that often focuses on the evil, I’d like to start a thread that centers on one of the great gifts we have around us—kids! I have seen so many cool posts on here of stuff that your kids or grandkids have done and it is amazing. I’m not a fan of praising mediocrity (“everyone gets a blue ribbon!”) but I love to encourage and praise kids who work hard and excell at what they do whether that be drama, sports, crafts, art, mechanics, and the list could go on and on. I know some of you are private and would not care to share names or pics and I respect that but if your kid or grandkid has done something special, please share it here to we can give an ”atta’ boy” or “you go girl” to pass along to them. I think kids are capable of so much more than this society allows. When a child puts for the effort to excel at something, they should be praised and cheered on to even greater success. I want my children to be even better individuals than I am. I had a dad tell me once, “you don’t want your son to be better at basketball than you are, do you?” —WHAT???— I want my son to be better at anything that he puts his mind to than I am. I want to teach him the things that I know in a given area and then see him take the next step and grow beyond my teaching by searching out even more gifted individuals than I am to grow his talents further than I can take him. I honestly can’t wait for the day that my children say to me, “Dad, let me show you how to do this or can I help you with that?” So...the purpose of the thread is to showcase your kids’ or grandkids’ talents and/or interesting and funny stories about them. Kids say things that are absolutely hilarious at times and have antics that warm our hearts daily if we take the time to soak them in. Some kids don’t have many talents with their hands but they can minister to people’s hearts through their caring and sharing. Whatever things that you care to post that can be a blessing or encouragement to the rest of us and/or something that we can enjoy with you... Maybe you don’t have any kids. That hasn’t kept many good people from reaching out and making an impact in nieces and nephews or neighborhood kids. One of my favorite husband and wife duo 4th grade Sunday school teachers never were able to have kids but they have spent nearly 35 years of their marriage investing into other peoples’ kids. They taught me in the mid 1980’s and now they are teaching my third born in Sunday school! Speaking of my third born, Judge (his nickname). He likes to read and invests himself in a variety of things that second graders like to do. However until he came home with this, I had no idea that he was such an artist... For an 8 year old, I was very pleased with this free hand work. I like it so much that it will get framed and hung on our wall annually with our other Christmas decorations! I can’t wait to hear the stories and see the wonderful gifts that children have been and are to you...

2 pointsRight Richard...there is no lip sticking out in the axle tube...that is why Dave put a carriage bolt under the bearing...so something would stick out to tap against. I used an air hammer with a bent bit. A few rat-a-tats and it popped right out. The best way is a bearing puller. Word is you can rent them at Auto Zone. I have an old bearing puller that works, but even that needs some shims to make it work.

2 pointsScottie had another rough night last night. He had a temperature again and the medical team is not quiet sure where this is coming from. It could be one of several things from deep vein thrombosis (blood clot in the lower legs), infection in the bladder, issues with his kidney and liver, or a virus. He is experiencing night terrors while he is sleeping, he talks in his sleep, and he needs constant reassurance that mom and dad are here. The medical team has order blood draws, cultures, CT scans and X-rays but unfortunately with all of the trauma he has sustained all the testing can not pin point what’s going on. He is all bruised on the inside so there is no telling what’s going on. The medical teams biggest fear is he has a blood clot and it could move to his heart and cause major issues there. Lowell Scholljegerdes and I are taking this minute by minute and day by day. We know that whatever God has in store for us we will get through this together. I know with out the support of Lowell and our friends and family I couldn’t remain strong for Scottie
