A friend let my wife drive his Oliver 70 in our parade and 3 weeks later this followed me home!

Hi folks, picked this up today on my day off from work. Came with 2 extra decks aswell. When i looked at it, there was no battery, owner said he had never tried to start it. It did have decent compression. Lesson #1. Just because it has compression, doesnt mean that the plug threads are not stripped out. DOH!!!...MONKEY MUFFINS!!!!. fortunately i had an old parts h50 tecumseh engine. Swapped out the head, and the gasket still seemed pretty good for now. Lesson #2. When checking for spark with the pull starter, make sure you have the ignition switch TURNED ON! BEFORE, you decide theres no spark, AND pull apaert the flywheel to "inspect" things. Yup, that was me. Heres my sign! In the process of pulling the flywheel, i put my impact gun on the nut, gave a very small quick squeeze, and boom, broke free real easy. Key word being broke!! The threaded shaft that the flywheel goes on was infact broken! But i actually dont think it was me this time. Or maybe it was. There was small bolt thru the end of the shaft, and when i put it back together, well i just thread the broken part of the shaft back on, put it back together, snugged it up, and prayed. The good news is that i did infact get it started, got it running pretty well actually. Still need a little rebuild kit for the carb. Wipe off some excess grease. And putt around the yard. I realize this is the lawn ranger model, but is there a specific model number for this tractor.? Range of year of manufacture? Anywho, just sharing my day. Mike

Picked this machine up today and a 48 in deck for a John Deere (( not for me )) and two signs, all for $100. 414 had the clutch took off. So I put one on and she fired right up and drives great and barley a whisper from the deck. So I'm gonna grease it up and change fluids and give it to my dad. But I mowed my lawn quick with it today.

Earlier this week my brother David Ralph and I got the 1964 Wheel Horse 1054 we use for snowplowing ready for winter duty. Here are some pics of the tractor . The rear drawbar hitch my dad made for three of our 1054 tractors, the the special leverage left for hauling logs and steel beams, and the WW-93 Wheel Horse Wheel Weights that work well year round!

I have a set of those weights on my GT-14 in addition to liquid filled tires and a weight box. Only way I get any tire spin is if the rear tires are off the ground!

Hi folks, I was ask if i would share some pictures and stuff of my hit and missers. My Dad gets alot of joy outta helping me spend MY money. And about 5 years ago i got my first flywheel engines. Later i ended up letting them go, but this summer with alot of overtime, i made a strong comeback!!! I try to find ones that are complete and in running or pretty close to running condition. Parts can be impossible to find in some cases or very expensive to replace. Anywho, just wanted to share some pics and youtoobs of my childrens spent inheritance money. If you have any of your own, please feel free to post some pics and stuff of them in this thread, thanks, mike

First of all. Nice find on that horse. Second of all. Monkey muffins???? Must have been extremely serious too have monkey muffins involved. Ignition switch. Spark. Yeah. Good thing I've never done that. Maybe you could make a thread in the Other Brands section about those hit and miss engines? There's a whole bunch of us that would love to see and hear those and more information about them.

Not many WH Tub Carts around Texas, so when this modified one showed up on the Dallas C-List For $50 I decided to go for it one of our N Texas members was kind enough to pick it up and hold if for me until zip had a trip that direction It needs new tires. The rims are solid and may actually be the correct offset for a Suburban. The lifted modification is well done But it could be put back to original with a little grinding and welding the carts rear lip area area was bent and the tap under the center of the lip was used to reinforce it. I would appreciate a picture of how this rear tab under the lip originally looke I’m in the fence on weather I will keep it in its unique “Lifted” construction or return it to original. What would y’all do????

Figure the maximum number you can store indoors, without your wife getting too upset. When you get more than than ideal number, sell your least favorites. Either that, or put an addition onto your storage area. Someday, I might be able to get a car into my garage. Jim

Those lifted trailers definitely have their place... depending on the job at hand, can be a real back saver. Seems like everything else ...you almost need one of each standing at the ready.

One thing the pic doesn't show is the clamp that holds the throttle cable is a clamp behind the air cleaner on the breather retaining stud. Lemme know you need a pic I'll sent the missus out to the shed It's raining out

I'm using the same tach that Bob mentioned. Works great. I put the tape on the pulley on my 520H, and on the drive shaft of my 522xi.

Here are some pictures of the cage, before he replaced the body. It’s tall, but it’s what he wanted. I did a little bumper for it too.

I mow 7 lawns on the side 3 are neighbors. One in is a good size and flat. The only pita is a swingset. I like using the tractor on it for several reasons, it does a beautiful job, it needs to be bagged and with I only need to empty twice, my proline 36” I empty 7-8 and it’s a good excuse to run it for 90 minutes.

It has to be a 1965, 1966 or 1967. If no tag on left side of tower by lift handle the need to be looked at closely for metal tags. Two spoke steering wheel on these models. Same basic tractor for three years. The gear driven mower deck may provide clues if they have tags. RM-115 is 1965, RM-116 is 1966 , etc My 1967 has a ST-324 Wheel Horse snowthrower on it that I use almost every winter! Does not throw the snow thirty feet like more powerful motors but the 6 HP motor does a good job and I do not normally have to shovel the drive!

That is all good information, but with Wheel Horse rules there is always an exception! The 1963 model 953 was longer than a long frame followed by the 1054 and 1054A and the GT-14 was even longer.

Lol well I got him a raider 12 8 speed this spring for mowing and got him a blade and snowblower. Well now I got him convinced it's better to have at least 2 horses so you don't have to switch implements. So this is just gonna be a surprise for him!

I purchased a head gasket for my c-120 and two carbs for 2 other tractors from Isavetractors and have not had any problems with my purchases. What I like is when I call , I get a real person on the phone.

simple solution is to put a primer bulb like the kind that comes on a portable outboard boat motor fuel tank inline near the engine a couple of squeeze's by hand and your good too go Brian

My 418 took forever cranking to fire up after it sat for a few days. Electric fuel pump completely solved that issue...now if I could just make the hydro lift work immediately....

keep your skids high and keep shear pins on hand and watch where you point the chute. then in the spring have the kids pick stones out the grass

As you can see from the responses there’s a few different ways of thinking here. Light snow a blade is good or multiple passes with higher accumulation. Snow blowers are good for deep snow and heavier accumulation. More moving parts on snowblowers so maintenance will be needed there a little more than a plow. In my opinion they’re both fun! The one common element here is weight and traction. These little things will make the power, it’s more of a question of how to get it to the ground. Either is fun so just do whatever you think is best for you and have fun!

All of the work got things pretty close to finished. Missing was the original throttle... No way to get one other than make one - again Ewan did a cracking job fabbing one from scratch!

I am starting to realize that, I have international lb, which was in my wife's family so it's more of sentimental project. it sat neglected for years and parts are missing and the piston stuck. I recently started chopping away it, by luck I found a carb for it online. I am going to have way more into it than its worth by the time I get it going, good news is the mag is still hot.

Ryan, the 1974 and 1975 B series 8 horse tractors had a mid frame length and should be able to use the long frame plow with no modifications.

All my Onan's like that G .... only thing that will get them fired up after a set is s fluid. I'm with Paul on the pump but have not done it ....Yet. I'm thinkin gas siphons back to the tank.
