Single owner estate sale agent opened shed and this was resting inside. Runs perfectly after a quick carb clean and a battery charge.

My wife and I were going to her music practice at the church (the praise and worship team practice their songs every other Friday night), and we were a bit early, so we decided to just drive for a few minutes. Went down the old highway (they put in the new stretch of that highway 40 years ago and some of the older parts were still there since there were houses on them), and off to the left, sitting in knee high weeds, was a Case garden tractor. I didn't get a good enough glimpse at it there to see if it was a big wheel one or not, but it was an older Case, probably from the 70s. I will be headed back there when I have more time to drop in and ask about it. Funny thing, I was telling my wife just a few days before, I was getting out of the garden tractor stuff (just keeping my 4 older Wheel Horses and my newer John Deeres), and now I'm thinking about a Case.

This is my crazy daughter who loves the outdoors and Horses. And yes, right after I snapped the pic, I yelled at her for riding without shoes. And she cleans up decent too. 76953A9E-8A7B-4C57-BA62-C5F1E0F9EC3B.MOV E144A9B7-B170-48D5-A301-E484D488D0B4.MOV

I went through this little motor(k91t) replacing all gaskets, seals, head bolts, rings, bearings. rebuilt carb, new plug wire & plug new gas filter bowl assembly. the cylinder was in good shape only needed a cleaning and honing for new rings. The gas tank was cleaned and sealed, has small dent on top , adds character. The hardest thing was rebuilding the recoil pull start, you need three hands. It was my third Kohler K90/91 project. The serial number indicates its a 1974 production run. Enjoy the photos..

My house is at the base of a long & tall hill, making for near flood-level water run-off. My basement was flooded recently, so I ran a shallow ditch behind to divert the water away from my house / garage. I'm not much for digging, so I improvised a 'sod cutter' to mount onto the A-frame of my dozer blade. This is a 7" dia well casing, about 1 foot long. I sharpened the lead edge to cut the sod, then squashed it to an oval shape of about 5" high. With the solid link in my dozer frame, I could put lots of down pressure to force the cutting edge of the 'sod cutter' into the ground. It worked out pretty well, then only had to rake out the sod strip. Made a 2nd pass to get the diversion ditch about 4" deep...enough to divert water flow.

The hubs have a slight taper to them. WH machined a flat surface around the hole . You will not have that. So be very cautious about cinching down the lock nut. it will put sideways stress on the set screw and it may snap off. Do not ask how i know this. Some poor dumb SOB will get an electro 12 some day and i hope he never has to remove the hub.

Today I spent quite a bit of time working on the transmission. Got a lot more paint off of it. Removed the shifter. Dog Point screw looks great. Wire brushed up a bunch of nuts and bolts that attach to it. Got the brake pulley off. Then... I set up the five Bolt hub removal tool. Heat it. Oil it. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Tighten up the bolts a little. Heat it. Oil it. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Tighten up the bolts a little. Just kept at it for about 3 1/2 hours between other things. Quite a few times I was leaning down on that 25 in breaker bar hard enough that it was lifting the whole of the transmission. That thing fought me tooth and nail and every other way to do it all the way out to the very end of the Hub shaft. In the end.... I WON !!!!!

Was so nice to be kayaking the Hudson with my Mrs Rules today. IMG_6330.MOV River side of the mountain we live on...Storm King, and the road cut, route I prefer to commute the 4 miles to work everyday, Rt, 218. Historic Bannerman's Island, on the opposite, eastern shore, Fishkill side of the river. Always a good workout, returning backwards across the Hudson. Was a glorious father's day this year. Down checking the water conditions this morning...shortly after sunrise.

Left Florida, passed georgia, hit South Carolina, lost a rubbermaid on the interstate. Scary walking down the side of I-95. No ones parts were hurt in the process. 😁 Restrapped skittles 3 times. SC roads are horrible. Back on the road👍

Here are some of the l pictures I have posted to answer questions on here. What is the difference in fuel pumps? How is the choke on a GT-14 hooked up? Where is the oil drain plug on a 953? Why has my engine only got two bolts holding it down? How long is the brake rod on a 953? Is the hood on a 953 the same as a GT-14? How does a Mule Drive attach? Where does the throttle cable go on a GT-14? How do you hold valve keeper on the valve stem while the spring is being installed? Bottoms up!

We soldiers weren't very bright so the Army had sheets made up with outlines of the various parts of your rifles. as you disassembled it you laid it on the outline line of the part. Vinyl guy should make this into one of those for people who want to tear down their trannies.

Well, I scrolled back through my millions of pictures to find something that suited my fancy. I'll go with this one. My maternal grandparents. My grandfather is sitting on his second cub. One of two or three tractors around me when I was younger that clearly started my great appreciation for these amazing machines.

I will have a few sets of these lug lits available. They fit standard Wheel Horse threads and go through the back of the hub the create studs. The wheels mount like a car wheel would You can make a 3 lug hub appear like a 5 lug hub by filling the empty holes. This solves your problem of having empty lug holes on three lug tractors! See below:

If you will be drilling that many hubs I would suggest making a gig to hold the hub upright and steady while drilling. A piece of 4 X 4 with a "V" notch cut in it attached to a piece of plywood so you can clamp it to the drill press would probably do the trick. The other thing that would help out would be to find a small socket wrench to fit the tap or weld a tap wrench to an old socket extension so you can use a ratchet to tap the threads. Sliding that little handle back and forth on the tap wrench would get old real fast.

Those vacuum switches break easily. If you have a good one, use a lighter, more flexible hose and support it in a way that it won’t hang on the nipple. If you have a switch that the nipple broke off, sand it flat and make a plate with a nipple that seals against the sanded surface. Another option is to get a second mortgage on the house and buy a new switch.
  42. 3 points
There is a small square plastic vacuum switch located on the left dash tower beside the battery. It connects to that but likely the nipple is broken off. All it does is supposedly turn on the air filter light on the indicator panel if the filter is restricted. None of mine are hooked up as I routinely check the air filters.

Here are two Excel ss detailing the parts and schematics. You may find them helpful. YOU can do this... just be meticulous and keep work area clean. Have a coffee can of kerosene to rinse parts as you progress thru the process of re-facing the brass and other steel internal parts. Once again....what is your email address? Would be nice if someone was set up to service tractors during the show. Oil change, Replace rear axle seals, Service Transmission What would one expect to pay for those? I am not a mechanic by any streach But will ing to pay someone who is? Got her home and cleaned up. Now to get back to work on stuff for the show. MAy consider trading the commando for a Hydro with a bit more power but it would need to be a nice one.

I got the RV to the house today and am getting that ready. Hopefully get the tractors loaded in the cargo trailer Wednesday. Two trips for me now with trailers now that my wife has decided to come She tried an overnighter in the cargo trailer and wasn't having it with with the twin bed accommodation, so I started bringing the RV. Can't say I blame her, I'm surprised she tried it to begin with . . . I'm glad she's into it though, it's a good time and I can't wait to be there. It's my favorite time-out every year and she is stoked to go too We have been super busy with some big changes. I'm retiring from my job June 30th and the house goes up for sale the next week. We plan on storing our stuff for a while and scouting out a new place to living in a WARMER climate (to my current WH friends in the south, you know who you are ) No offense, but snow (and cold) sucks and I'm happy for you if you enjoy that crap. So we will be living in said RV for a while in T-minus (when the house sells) . . . . I'm storing the tractors I have until we land . . . so we can't wait to enjoy this show until we can get there next time . . .

It occurred to me when I saw your diagram above that I have a vise that sits with the drill press. Experimented with it a bit tonight. Pretty happy with the results and ease of drilling.
