The cuz and I picked up a 1276 that belonged to a 98 year old man . He had a bunch of the original paperwork with the tractor that was in a old GM bus division folder . We believe he was a engineer at GM especially after looking at some of the little mods done to the tractor . Maybe some have seen this little trick but this is stupid easy . All it is apiece of bicycle chain used as detents for the lever and it works like a charm . Hope this helps some of you with that creeper problem... !

@JA1980 had this listed in the for classifieds awhile back. I had my eye out for an HY for some time now to fit up on a dedicated plow tractor so I though what the heck go for it. @stevasaurus went and picked it up for me at the state line to make it an easy Saturday morning pick up and nice breakfast for me. Thanks Steve We were informed that this tractor might have went through the hands of Scott @whfan74 but when I asked him if he remembered it and could shed a little history on it he mumbled something about lost brain cells and too many horses going through his barn! I had originally planned on flipping the tractor figuring I might get a cheap HY out of the deal. & as I need another tractor like (another) hole in the head. Steve had warned me I was probably not gonna want to get rid of it. He was right. After a taking off the HY, a good bath, removing some PO inflicted wounds, and straightening up some wiring she fired up and ran like a champ. Puffs a little smoke but then I do too so that not's so serious. Bonus ...JA had graciously thrown in another frame an almost complete front end, a hood stand, some steering gear and a bunch of other parts! Darn near another whole tractor! I was happy. The bad news is the HY-2 is gonna take some work. The reservoir had water in it, the lift lever is froze up solid, the hoses are shot and the lift cylinder is seized and full of tar. All is not lost however as JA must have figured to go through it at one time and had Lowell's @wheelhorseman kit which he sent along! I do have it all apart now and it is savable but the judge sentenced me to hard time in front of the parts cleaner! These are quite simple little pumps and easy to work with. I will do a thread on it separate once I get going on it. As for the tractor since it has no lift lever, rock shaft or cable anymore it is going to share tub duties with the 702. As seen in the pics a PO put a strap on the slot hitch for a solid mount. I do have extra lift levers and parts so some day I might just get a hair up my and resto it. BTW did I mention the tires are like new and the FULL set of hubcaps....worth the price of admission right there!!! More pics once I get the hood back on.

Well, last Tuesday I got a call from my 81 year old uncle. He is still very active and even takes trustees out from the jail to do road cleanup a couple of times a week! He said he had a few projects that he just wasn't going to get around to and wanted to know if I wanted them. Being the horder that I am, I said YES! Got there Saturday and found a 1953ish REO reel mower, a 60's Jacobson reel mower for golf course greens, a Standard Oil Company oil pump, a kerosene pump, a store brand mower for Emory, and a Simplicity Wonderboy for me. I hope to work on the wonderboy later this winter - it looks rough, but is all there - even the cast aluminum deck! Just thought I'd share my finds.

I figured Id come to the experts for an appraisal. Can anyone give me an idea of what I should ask for this 702? I bought it for my son a few years back and after doing a few things to it, it just sits and we'd rather sell it to someone who will get some use out of it and appreciate it. Not to mention we need the garage space. The tractor runs great, is in great shape, and is garage kept.

A few beers and a couple of buddy's was what happened with the wall. 😂. As for the 753, honestly the last time it ran was when I picked it up from Scott. I brought it home, put the tires and hubcaps on it, put the hy-2 kit on it and there it sat for about 6 months because I was restoring my rj35. Oh yeah and I put the hood bolts on and found that nice seat too. They were incorrect.

Snagged this in a tool trade Saturday night. Got the tin off cleaning out the grass. Not anything there. Only showing 301 hours. Battery evidently leaked in the past, or froze up and cracked. Drain tube from battery is above deck. Acid apparently ran out on deck from the drain tube and ate up the deck. I am in the market for a very nice 48" deck and dozer blade. I think this really is a 300 hr. machine. I love the sound and feel of the Onan. This thing screams!

Nice 753. Now what's the story with the dented wall?

I put those tires on it right after I got it. Glad your happy and it has a good home.

Well I finally have enough done on my 414-8 to show you all my progress. I built a front 2" receiver hitch that will allow the use of a mule drive and snow blower, The weight bracket is a 4x4x14" steel tube filled with lead (85lbs total not counting the suitcase weights.) The sleeve hitch works with a 2" receiver hitch, I have a 500 lb linear actuator controlling the height of the sleeve hitch. I plan on removing the actuator and adding full hydraulics to this tractor some day. On a side note...i'm really loving the new tires. 414-8 414-8

That horse is just going to look better and better. I think the tires on it make that horse.

Not sure if it's AC but it's a mower. Here are some pics.

I'm glad it finally made it home but I would consider yourself lucky it didn't come up missing in Chicago . That town is full of old thugs . I heard the boss is ex Navy , drives a old Ford truck , makes his own wine and still uses Windows7 ... sound familiar ? He didn't make you kiss his ring after breakfast for that "favor" did he ...

That black waffle stuff they sell for lining mechanics tool boxes works well. You just wrap it around and pin it.

Right Craig...the Connecticut guys are in that top 1% range.

I'm out toward Buffalo NY and sold this 702 on cl just a few moths ago. Got 350 for it. Motor needed a rebuild. But everything was straight a worked properly beside motor needing rebuild. Listed for 375 obo and was gone in just a couple days. So I would say 550 to 600 with out a doubt. List a little higher than your bottom dollar though for sure.

Looks pretty nice with the seat cover (40 bucks right there) and all and it looks like the throttle cable has been updated to the locking style. Just for comparison I paid 500 or so for a 702 in similar condition with duals but no deck. If it were mine I personnaly would start at 7 bills but to a member or a strait shooter go as low as 6. Also have to keep somewhat in mind what you have into it. my

You may want to consider extended axles and a second pair of hubs. A fellow Redsquare made a pair for me and had them magnetic induction heat treated.

Finished the 704 this morning after picking up a new muffler and drive belt for the deck. Now she can sit proudly with her stable mates in the barn. Thanks to everyone for their interest in this project.

Ok guys, what's the secret to keep from sliding off of these shiny plastic seat when mowing on a side hill?It seems that some of them have been wax polished.I've noticed some guys have those expensive seats with arm rests, but what do us poor guys do?Mal

I've wanted one of these A-111 for awhile. Just thought they were some thing different and kinda unique. But never could find one that was descent. But I came across this one a week ago and the guy finally called me yesterday. So I went and got it. Picked her up for $60. It is pretty solid and was sold cause they couldn't figure out how the deck went on. I just got to figure out which belt goes on it. I believe this is a 1980 and they say a 70 or 72 inch belt.

to the You will find all the help you need on this forum. The 8 HP with the 8 speed will have plenty of power to push or pull any load. The limiting factor on these tractors is traction and with chains and some added weight on the rear, plowing snow should not be a problem. Turning a snow blower is a different story. IMO 12HP is the minimum required to effectively operate a blower. I live in SC Pa, and I do have a blower on a 20HP tractor for those 1/year storms that come up the coast and pump 1-3 feet of snow in off the Atlantic. I think an 8 HP would struggle to handle one of these noreasterners. Most of the snows though are handled easily with the plow on my 12 HP machine. Snow plows are readily available. I have one for sale now and would be willing to trade it and a set of chains for a working deck . If you do purchase the C-81 and are interested in a trade, please PM me as it is against the forum rules to negotiate deals in this thread. Buy, sell, and trades must be done in the classified section. It is tough to evaluate a tractor with only a picture, but it does appear to be well cared for and probably stored inside.

I think you need to get everything out into your yard and get a drone photo of it all. That would be impressive!

Thank you! I'm located in central Pennsylvania, we get some heavy snow at times, but it's not the norm. I don't know much beyond what's listed in the ad, I wasn't sure what to even ask! I don't mind poking around, but I have never worked on an engine beyond regular maintenance, so I'll likely try to replace the parts myself and call for help if I can't get it to start. I think I'll go check it out, get some of my own photos try to restrain myself from giving him all my $$

A lot lot higher if it's certain guys we happen know!

Unless your drive is a steep hill 4wd is unnecessary, wheel weights and chains work. 8hp is going to be working hard if you get much snow, It will do it but you may be in low range and it will take time. If you get real snow those wings on the blower will be too much, but they come off (The do not appear to factory). Check the top corner of blower body for cracks/breaks, those big wings will put a lot of stress on it.. The fuel pump is an issue. A new Kohler pump is over $100 (might use that to negotiate) Also if you are mechanically inclined you can put on an electric pump for a lot less $25-30. The leaky fuel cock is a cheap fix.. You might be able to swap the deck if it is in decent shape for a snow/dozer blade. She will push some dirt/snow and haul about anything you want...is the cart Wheel Horse or after market? 4wd or a loader are way out of the price range you are considering. Who did the rebuild...there are rebuild and rebuilds. Would want to see the deck and the cart and make sure the blower isn't cracked and that it works. If the deck blower and cart are in good shape the engine is good $650 is not way out of line... Location also plays where are you???

Up here in the NE, list for $750, with $600 as your bottom line. Especially if there are no mechanical problems & it mows good too. You can go even higher if it's going to Connecticut

I have a "1975 Dealers Sales Manual" covering, I guess, EVERYTHING that Wheel Horse was offering---- its over an inch thick and is crammed with ALL the accessories, attachments, etc offered that year, and there is a LOT of them. There was a dealer in a small town south of here that passed away and the son came in to try an clear everything up. Groundhog and I made 3-4 trips there hauling off jewels to junk. There was about 8-10 of these manuals in a falling down shed and we hauled them off, 2-3 were in BAD condition, had been in the rain. I made a copy the "Confidential Dealer Price List" pages listing all the tractors with the different ways they were fitted out - tires, PTO, 3 point, etc. This is quite an eye opener!!

... @AMC RULES can't change his username . He knows the repercussions ... ! Here's some info on Graham-Bradley from Wikipedia ... The Graham-Bradley tractor was built by the Graham-Paige Motors Corporation of Detroit in Michigan, just prior to World War II. The tractors were sold by Sears-Roebuck, which owned the Bradley factory and built implements. The tractors were advertised as "built by Graham, Equipped by Bradley, Guaranteed by Sears". One basic model was offered in both standard and row-crop configurations. Production lasted only two years and Graham switched to wartime production. Graham became Kaiser Motors after the war, acquiring and becoming Jeep before selling to AMC. So there in the Wheel Horse family tree . Again guys thanks for the great pics !

Directly on the bottom(lowest point) of the transaxle just forward of the pin hitch, it's an Allen head (3/16"-1/4" Allen wrench)pipe plug probably hidden with mud/dirt/grease that will have to be cleaned/removed to find and get to the the plug, Jeff.

Excellent pictures you guys...thanks for sharing those. Looks like Jim changed his handle...I think that means he is keeping the 753. I kind of knew he would keep this one.

I keep telling people not to get old, but no one seems to listen to me, being the dummy that I am. I didn't listen too, and have two "store bought" hips, And two "store bought" shoulders and an ankle with a box of screws in it. I can't use the manual lift for anything very heavy, (garden plow, rear blade, front blade, etc),so I have hydraulic lift (two C141's) one with with rear hydraulic lift that I had built & installed in 91 or 92. Dual lift gets snow thrower & rear blade in the winter, & the stock one gets the snow blade. Summer stock gets mower deck & dual lift gets garden plow & tiller if needed. Thus, I can sitll use the "toys the good LORD has granted me to keep me entertained (and active).

@WHX12 got a good pic of a AC-G with a plow on it. If you look you will notice that the front axel has to be adjusted on the right side for the plow. The right front wheel sticks out further than the right rear wheel. The wheels on the left stay in line with each other.
