16 pointsI got my new sign hung up today. Came from a local dealership with some close ties, my dad @Shynon used to turn wrenches there part time, pretty much what got us into the hobby. Here she is in all her glory 4ft x 6ft the sign that used to hang out front on HWY 60 in Fairibault MN

8 pointsFinally got some new tires for the Bronco. They're Deestones I found the on E-Bay for $14.95ea w/out tubes. SWEET!
-
8 pointsGot it out of the truck and powerwashed it. It cleaned up better than I thought.

6 pointsI figured Id come to the experts for an appraisal. Can anyone give me an idea of what I should ask for this 702? I bought it for my son a few years back and after doing a few things to it, it just sits and we'd rather sell it to someone who will get some use out of it and appreciate it. Not to mention we need the garage space. The tractor runs great, is in great shape, and is garage kept.
-
6 pointsand then we took a look around at it. Needs a few things. Lower panel at the front. Headlight assembly is totally smashed. Front tires are beaten to death.. a miracle that they hold air at all. There's STILL so much manure and garbage wedged into the recesses of this thing! Battery needed too, I'd guess... but after checking the oil which amazingly looked like it was new, it fired right up with some fresh gas and a jump from the car. A bit of a PITA to prime with fuel, but we got her going. Drove for twenty minutes with no issues showing on the transmission. Also good! Can't read the gauges at all because the plastic is all foggy looking... gonna have to buff this somehow: Also found it's leaking oil like a seive on the left hand side que to the PO putting an SAE bolt into this metric hole to try and fix the valve cover leak. i hope a helicoil fixes that up sooner than later, tho. So so that's my story! 522xi out of the bushes and heading for a better life... stay tuned for questions!

5 pointsI picked this up at an estate sale last week for $170.00. What a steel. I changed the oil and filter, set the RPM's correctly and greased the zerks. I put some good rec gas in it and mowed my lawn. It ran like a top, steering is tight and everything checks out ok. Even I can still get lucky every once in a while

5 pointsSo reminds me of the classic phrase, "one man's junk is another man's treasure!"

4 pointsAs always, very nice work Aldon. I think its high time that you are officially declared our official "GT14 Specialist"
-
4 pointsI've hauled a few freebies myself... I think another question that can be asked is what is the most you have paid... I think I'll pass on that one.

4 pointsI go to HF for the entertainment. People returning stuff like a cordless drill they bought for $9.99 that only lasted a month on a construction job, 2 ton jacks that they tried to lift 5 tons with, $6 flashlights that the magnet became unglued on and my personal favorite, Cranky old husband & wife teams that both want a free $1.99 flashlight. The husband buys something, pays for it, and gets a free flashlight. The wife pitches a fit because she didn't get one. "I'm a customer too!" The clerk says "You need to buy something" She goes "We did!" Clerk finally relents and gives her one just to get the seahag out of there as a line is now forming. Another good place is Chinese Buffets!
-
4 pointsWell Elijah is back together and runs great. Not noticeably stronger when driving but the lift seems to be quicker. Might be wishful thinking as this is one of those repairs I hope to avoid in future. I took the time while it was apart and repaired the one fender that had a problem spot that the paint had came off of. It don't look too bad for having been used for mowing duties last summer.
-
4 pointsMine was a recent purchase. I got a 74 d 200 with a 3 point 60 inch finish mower plus a few boxes of spare parts that included a full set of hydraulic controls, lines, and cylinder for a belly mower that I had to dig out his dumpster. Gave 400 for all of it. $30 to rebuild the carb and $40 for a couple used rear tires. Fired right up after the carb rebuild and I've been mowing with it since

3 pointsJust completed a lean to off my shop, 30' x 9'. Seems a 30' x 30' shop with 6 WH's, 2 project WH's, 1 Zero Turn and 1 ATV does not leave much room to work.. Will be adding some crushed limestone Friday, complete the side panels and calling it done. Material was extremely affordable, one of my boys is the Sales Manager at a steel building manufacture here in town, d and the labor was very reasonable. Win, Win. Is nice to be able to walk around without having to step over red stuff! Dennis

3 pointsSo on eastern Long Island there's a radio station that hosts a daily hour long radio show called swap and shop. Of course I always listen for Wheel Horse stuff and have gotten a few tractors and attachments over the years. About a month ago a gentleman calls in and says he has rims and tires for a WheelHorse for free, and he is on a little island town near by which I know well. So I figured I'll pay the 19 dollar ferry fee for free rims and tires!!! I call him and tell him I'll take them because I have 15 Wheel Horses. Now keep in mind I don't know this guy and he says"15 WheelHorses?, you must be Don Oliver"!!! I'm not kidding! We are a few towns apart so for a split second I felt locally famous! I then got busy and almost a month went by and he calls me and wants to know if I'm still coming and tells me he has a C-160 he wants to get rid of. I figure he wants to sell it. If I buy another tractor my wife will divorce me. So Sunday we go to get the free tires and he says check out my C-160. I look at it and think, this things not bad. He's had it for over 30 years and tells me he's 70 years old and doesn't need it anymore. I then asked him what he wants for it and he says" what I want is for you to HAVE IT!!" He also gave me a 42" sd mower deck, chains, plow and some spare parts. So without further ado here it is, and she runs like a champ!!!

3 pointsHow about this AC B as a snow plower? My grandfather had a B when I was growing up (but was run hard and put up wet) then dad bought a C with narrow front end used to plow garden and drag/haul firewood , had nowhere to keep them out of the weather so they were sold but still have the memories, Jeff.

3 pointsI have 2 C160's and one has transmission fluid and the other has motor oil. I did drain my trans with motor and refilled it with mobile one. But the other one I did drain it and checked it and after a few tests it was trans fluid. 1st test is smell. 2nd test is feel , rub between fingers trans fluid is not as slippery as oil. 3rd test is looks. Wipe a few drops on white paper and smear it. Red or pinkish is trans fluid. If it's newer oil or fluid it's a no brainer. It probably could use a transmission oil change as WHX11 said . be safe and change it anyway. You shouldn't mix transmission oil and motor oil so be sure of what's in it before you add oil.

3 pointsYesterday I was overseeing a whole house generator installation for a friend. This lady, along with her late husband, made it possible for my ‘B’-160 that I bought new to come back to me. Most of you know the scoop on that. I was over there the better part of the day and swapped out a couple light fixtures as the generator installation progressed. Early in the afternoon she said “I’ve got something else you’re going to want”. We walked out to the garage and she moved a few things to uncover this: I’ve been looking for a trailer like this but really didn’t think I’d find one especially in this shape. Zero rust and pitting and just a little bit of a repair on the rear lip. I offered to pay for it but she just said I could have it. It’s not the original paint so I’ll give it a fresh coat and correct the wheel color. I’m also thinking truck bed coating would be nice in the bed. The grandkids will love riding around in this.

3 pointsOMG, Thanks everyone. I sure don't feel 74, everytime I get on one of our Wheel Horses I really do feel like a kid again, I mean, like a teenager taking his Dads tractor out when he is gone and doesn't know what I'm doing . . . fun, fun, fun . . . .
-
3 pointsYeah sorta got thisway from my dad as he had 4 Cub Cadet originals at one time, and lots of attachments, I had 3 520Hs and 2 Xi's (523Dxi that was supposed to be an easy fix that turned out more than I was willing to invest) last year now down to 2 520s (the anniversary model I bought brand new in 1998) and a Mahindra eMax SCUT it is addictive but time saver so that's how I talk my wife into them and you just can't do all seasons with a ZTR, Jeff.
-
3 pointsVery nice C-160.Glad to see you have the right brand truck too.Good things happen to Ford pick up owners.Have fun with your new toy.

3 pointsOk felllows, here we go... thats my pal Jody there in the pic, helping me beat down the overgrowth to find this thing in the weeds. aftwr some weed pulling and cutting, we "found her"... this was no place to let a Horse rot.. i disnt get get any pics of the extraction itself with the tow strap and all, but it wasn't too bad. Once we got 'er out it was like this: From there From there it was ... onto the trailer with the come-along, no issues. Rolled like a champ in neutral. Thanks fellows! and then.. she followed us back home. A Quick stop and $10 later at the car wash: Yeah, that's me... and then hen she was somewhat presentable. Still mighty covered with horse poop and old grass, but at least now you could get near it without getting tetanus or having a rat jump out and gnaw your arm. The pictures don't really show it, but the underside of this and all on the deck surface and engine bay was SERIOUSLY covered with gross stuff. Up to an inch thick. back home we got her unloaded next to this tiny lawn ranger of Jodys that needed some work ... https://flic.kr/p/XoYtXz

3 pointsI got my 1st Wheel Horse (1975 B-80) for free, and that is the one that got me started in this incurable addiction....But why would I want to be cured?!

3 pointsI was fortunate to have these two given to me. A 657 and a Frankenhorse that turned out to be a 500 Special. Both had serious issues but I figured I could build one good one out of the two. Here's where I'm at with it now. I wasn't able to complete it yet because of the move back to Indiana. Hopefully by this winter. A little off topic and not cheap but it was a dirt cheap deal. It's a 2005 and I bought it in 2009 so it was 4 years old with only 100 hours. At $1000.00 including the deck I don't think he knew what he had.

2 pointsAny idea what's in it now for fluid? Check the dipstick if it's red it might be some kind of ATF, brown might be some type of motor oil. If not known or hard to tell it might be best to drain it all out and refill per the manual.. Most times due for an oil change anyway.

2 pointsIt is very common for Eaton hydros to need a significant warmup before the hydro lift will operate. They will move forwards and backward almost immediately, but depending on temperature may take 30 seconds to 2-3 minutes before they will lift. That is why i no longer use the Eton in the winter. The sundstrand will pick up the blower or plow immediately even in the extreme cold so I can move them out side to finish warming up with out suffocating me in the garage/shop.

2 pointsJust sitting here earlier this evening skimming CL for a steal and found and bought this Brinley "potato" plow (as he had it listed) about 15 minutes from me for $50, he also had a single gang disc same price but I have 2 already do passed on that and the plow I scored last year ($75) was in really rough shape so off to see and bring it home, everything seems nice and tight on it only thing I see is a bit of rust on the moldboard and the very tip is slightly tweaked, you guys think I did good on this one? ,Jeff.

2 pointsThanks Ritchie. But in truth it's now a 3-4 footer since I worked it. Still worthy to take to show but not a true perfect paint show stopper. Its not perfect but still my favorite.
-
2 pointsI got this 654 a couple years ago for free with plow. Came with a 7hp kohler that was basically just a block and 8hp kohler on the tractor.

2 pointsC195 in front with cart were free, c175 in rear was $100.00, both need restored but strong runners.
-
2 pointsThis C-101 was a freebie. Unfortunately, I don't have before pics, but here are some after investing a few hundred hours of labor and a few hundred bucks for paint, decals, and vinyl to make a seat.
