14 pointsSo my wife is looking over my shoulder this morning as I am responding to a post here on RedSquare, and she says "did you know that you have 9999 posts? You must be the gabbiest member on there." I said no, I'm not by far, and she says... "So much blah, blah, blah". I guess that says it all.

12 pointsInstead of having a couple of the resident stallions take care of pasture this year I decided to let Old Milly enjoy that task for a while anyway. Its nice using her, we are about the same age and understand each others limitations.

10 pointsI just got home after picking up a very nice model 1276 tractor, exhausting 10 hour round trip. It is in great shape, although incorrectly marked as a C120. Checked the tag as was happy to see it was a T1276. Runs great, nothing like the sound of a big one cylinder! Only issues I see with it is that it has a very nice new seat, but obviously not original, wrong decal designation, and Has the front pulley mount unit added for the newer style deck, and the deck does not attach properly with the rear lift rod. Super excited about getting one, I was six years old when sold new! Not a great picture, but all I have right now. It is the one against the wall, next to the 857.

9 pointsJust wanted to say Thank you!! to the members of Red Square for all the Information, Brochures, Manuals and Photos that they have shared on this site. Last week I picked up a Wheel Horse 753, really had not much information on it but after looking at the available information here I now have alot.

9 pointsAsk her if she minds going out to eat once in awhile with what you might make selling brake bands & lug kits! Here's what happens at my house. Her: Are you Red Squaring again? You sure do yak on there a lot. Me: Yes, are you Facebooking again? You sure do yak on there a lot. Her: Well yes my friends are all on Facebook. Me: Well my friends are on Red Square. Her: Well what on earth do you yak about? Me: I help fellas fix their tractors and learn how to fix mine. What do you yak about? (I don't Facebook at all so I really don't have a clue!) Her: I read what other people say about other people and look at recipes. Me: Well that's not very productive is it? What do you want for supper? Her: I don't care anything. Me: Congrats B-100!

8 pointsHappy Sunday, I drug an empty Yaall Haul up to the Michigan Thumb and a 312 jumped in and wouldn't get out. It followed me all the way home. Mom said I could keep it if I cleaned it up and found a place to store it out of her sight. I saw this Horse sitting by the side of the road up near China TWP, Michigan when I was headed to a pre-bid walk thru at a natural gaspumping station near China. Have you ever stood on top of 4 billion Cu Ft of compressed natural gas? I stopped and knocked on the door but there was no answer so I left a business card with a note that I was interested in the tractor in his front yard. 4 hours later after I had returned to Detroit the owner called me and said he would sell it. Long story short another trip to China with a trailer and a hand full of twenties, ten of them actually, and it was mine. He also threw in an aftermarket seat that wasn't all torn up, which may go on my C101 when I get to restoring it, and a Brinley thatch rake. Here are the particulars- ID 2112K804 20067 The other number is not readable. 1058 Hours on the meter, Three out of 4 tires hold air, none of them are dry rotted or weather checked. There is a minor electrical glitch. The parking brake warning light stays on until you turn the key on then it goes out. In the meantime it drains the battery. The steering seems to be to be tight and the engine starts right up and runs strong. Do all of the Kohler magnums idle extremely slow? The transmission is full of brownish glop that will get drained as soon as I get a chance. And the engine is up to the full line with black tar looking sludge. It was raining today when I got home so didn't have much chance to mess with it. Will post more when the sun comes out and I can give him a bath and tear into it a little. Right now he is in the back yard sleeping under the tarp with his big brother 416.

6 pointsThis is a possible score, about 300 miles to get it tho but the price is right. Take a look at the pics and see if you guys see anything out of place.

6 pointsNo sandblasting clicknology I'm afraid, as this will be a working machine it'll be flap wheel, wire wheel, two coats of red oxide then (hopefully) two top coats. Only a couple more updates to go before a break for painting. One thing I forgot to get a picture of was the transmission belt idler engagement lever, it is now forward of the left loader tower. I simply used the original motion lever to connect to it, so the knob is approximately where the dial a height control used to be. So tonight... Coming up with a cover for the dash which leads down to the hydro pump, I used the off cut from the bonnet, filled the latch slot and then cut and welded this piece of sheet metal (nothing to do with the tractor, colour is just a coincidence) to fit the shape. A bend at the bottom means this cover closes over the cooling fins of the pump to ensure the fan still does it's cooling job. Two small tabs with fasteners secure the top and the original bolt holds the bottom to the belt guard. Next came the old toolbox, toolboxes are handy so why not retain it.. The old seat pan was pretty rotted, but luckily the bits I need were ok, the hinge and centre section after a bit of cutting and drilling produced this, Galvanised sheet was all I could find for the lid, bolted to the centre of the seat pan and a bend put in it, It closes nicely. I have to get some sheet metal for enclosing the fuel tank/battery, so I will be replacing this galvanised toolbox lid. Lastly tonight, (something I do to all our buckets and grabs on the farm) The leading edge takes most of the wear on a loader bucket but they also wear thin on the 'heels' especially when used on concrete. Weld some wear plates on and save the bottom of the bucket.

6 pointsHappy 2709th day on RedSuare Bob!! That is a 3.69139904023 post per day average. Does not seem like "So much blah, blah, blah" to me. Congratulations on the milestone.

5 pointsFor the newbies.... and those who may suggest Karl dump the C-160..... pretty sure bet that one's never going anywhere while Karl is still breathing.

5 pointsAndy Yes I appreciate that Cad File thank you again. I thought I would work on the BIG STUFF first that being the bucket before I get into the frame and so forth. Well today I was cut short 1/2 the day because the Power went off in my City due to someone hitting a Transformer or something. Anyways a weak point on many of these buckets are the top edge is Flimsy. As we talked about putting some hooks and stuff for lifting things I Integrated that into my design I didn't want the stiffners to be on the outside so I put them to the TOP Inside. I used a 1/2 X 3 piece if flat stock with a 1/2" X 1" pice and made my own Angle Iron so to speak. I cut 2 more pads of 1/2" X 4" material X 3 and used them where the Hooks and Rings will be. I welded it all together and hit the Drill Press and drilled 3 3/4" Holes for the Clevis Pins. Now of I want the Hooks on the outside no problem. If I want Rings on the outside and a Hook in the Center No Problemo. If I want to flip the hooks over I can do that too. I might to be able to make other attachments for it later. So what do ya think will that get the Job Done?

4 pointsHi all! I am new to this forum. In fact I do not own a Wheel Horse... yet. I am making arrangements to look over a Wheel Horse 1276 some day this week. I am asking for things I should pay particular attention to as I examine the tractor. I am attaching a picture, in case that helps. I have recently purchased a plot of land. I need to mow and work about 5 acres (more like 1.5-2). I would love to use my tractor for working a small food plot for deer. Do you think I'm going the right direction with this sort of tractor. Thanks in advance, Tim

4 pointsI try and encourage anyone who has a brochure, manual or any literature to scan it and post it in our manual's section, or send me the scan so I can do it. Some have done so, and it's greatly appreciative, but others have not. So, please, if you have a any literature that isn't already in our manual's section, please scan it and get it uploaded there. Just a friendly public announcement from someone who loves the literature stuff.....

3 pointsHere are some pics of the 1276 I picked up this weekend. Seems to run good, starts right up, blows just a little smoke right when it starts. Has a few minor issues, but overall seems pretty solid. Paid $400 for it and the deck.

3 pointsI don't care you call me. The Squonk has called me Waldo and other unprintable names at the BS last year. @N3PUY Based on McMaster price you could charge double your price about and I would be happy. You could be the Forum's newest vendor.

-
3 pointsWith those little tillers, I've fount that the $150 and $200 ones are just too cheap to last or to be fixed, you would be very smart to go with a much better MANTIS Tiller or a HONDA Tiller, for $300–$400, they do an excellent job and are very fixable (but be careful of the Ethanol gas).
-
3 pointsGoing back to the original post; it is a 1998 so I don't think we are going to find points and condenser. the mechanic removed some junk from the fuel system already, my thought is there is more in there and Seafoam has proven itself to me and others. I don't own any stock in the company, just know it has helped.

3 pointsThanks for the feedback. I knew I came to the right place! Doing repairs is something I expect. It seems that parts are available if you look hard enough. The food plot is not a priority, just a nice to do. One of the reasons I am looking at this 1276 is the additional items that come with it. They include a set of ag tires, chains, wheel weights, a blade and a small dump cart. The package seems irresistible for the price. They are asking, $600. It seems to me that if the mower is good, I am getting a great deal.

3 pointshttps://lileks.tumblr.com This guys site has a seriously demented take on the 20th century in the U.S.A. I love it. "Before there was Twitter. Or liberal divorce laws."

3 pointsNicely done and strong around your lifting points, by the way, is it just coincidence that all the power goes out in your city around the same time you installing solar arrays and laying cables. You may be interested in one further addition I added to my bucket that I recommend you think on, I'll include it tonight.

3 pointsOk guys, my buddy sent me some pictures. They're not great but any info and input would be great! Thanks!

2 pointsLOL! We had a Spook Shack on the Fox. I had one piece of equipment in their space. Every time I had to PM or repair the equipment, they had to "sanitize" the area. Then keep a watch on me the entire time I was there.

2 pointsThe blower on the 416H makes great sense. Of course you must keep the C-160. I would want a blade to support the blower and even a 8hp will do that. Then pick out a mower. Something remaining gets a new home...
