11 pointsPicked up this C125 here in town for $400 earlier. It's a little rough cosmetically but runs and drives like a top... Roughly 25-30 hrs on a fresh engine rebuild. Will get more and better pictures for y'all tomorrow. That makes four now
-
10 pointsJust picked up this 417-8. Plan on tearing it down, cleaning it up, and painting it.

9 pointsFinally got a new shed! Thanks to T-Mo, who posted about his shed, I went with the same company. Derksen sheds. http://www.derksenbuildings.com/ I bought a 12'x24' side lofted building with 8' walls. I thought a was getting a color close to my shop, but I see I really need to paint the shop now. Here is another pic or 2. Ya, its been raining! Can't wait till it dries up and I can fix the grass I tore up and get things in order. I looks pretty crappy right now, but it will get better soon. Randy

6 pointsAs posted earlier in the mirror thread....I Got lucky and found this sitting on CL looking for a new home. My theory is that it was still available due to no model listed in the title or the text of the add. Only the year. Gentleman was first rate fella. His daughter/family inherited it from the father in law who did a restore on it and it sat in his small engine and equipment shop for years. Not sure if it was trade in or originally his but I have the floor tag that was on it when it first sold. And he said since I dealt with him fair and honest he had some other stuff he would just give me. I was was surprised at the windfall of stickers, manuals and advertising material. All original WH stuff. Tractor runs good. Starts right up and no smoke. Lots of scratches and dings in the paint. So eventually I'll re-do the restore. I have quickly grown attached to these little round hoods. It would have been better financially if I had never rode one. Water over the bridge now😐 The fella even even had the muffler shield!

6 pointsArtist Chris LaBrooy has been producing some mind-blowing depictions of cars and trucks; here are a few. Enjoy!

6 pointsBob...Spring Mentone they moved due to trying to get better weather as it seemed to be always cold and rainy . Mentone was basically just a swap meet (no showing tractors) with a bunch of Horse-A-Holics , but this year they're combining it with some other festival and I think it's a bring what you got for show and swap . So this is all new . I can tell you I made the pilgrimage to P.A. last year . Do yourself a favor and show up on Thursday morning when everyone is setting up , because by noon Saturday the show grounds are all cleared out . Thursday and Friday is Wheel Horse heaven and it won't disappointed !!!

6 pointsYes. My name is Aldon and I have an addiction. Lol Best investment I made in years was buying my wife a set of LaCrusette pans. Unmercifully pricy in my opinion. But she is happy as a lark and is cool with my addiction. I would probably buy what I want but it's nicer that she is ok with it.

5 pointsI was out for the afternoon with my wife on Saturday, out for a little shopping and dinner. When on the drive home my phone rang, unfamiliar number probably a solicitor, so i didnt answer. A few minutes later my phone beeps for a message thats strange. So i listened to the measage i was right it was a solicitor, he wanted to sell me a . He said it was a 8hp with a 36in RD deck and it runs the only reason he parked it was because the deck gears were skipping. I told him to send me a pic or two and how much he was asking for it. Best part about this nice little commando 8 is he only wanted $100 for it! Im going to fix the deck and put her back to service mowing my yard.

4 pointsIt's a wheel horse Jim, but not as we know it. Hello RS, although l've been a member for seven plus years, I don't post very often and don't think I've started a topic in the Restoration/modification/custom section until now. In february '16 I started a build, really as a result of members on here who show off their fabrication talents, some of which are quite amazing. I won't name names but down the years there have been many memorable projects. So I thought I'd have a go. Rather than do a blow by blow account of this, I thought I'd build it, prove it works to myself then share. Currently I'm stripping it all back down for painting....uugh, summers on the way so getting a descent paint job should be easier. This has been an on/off project for 14 months (mostly off), bulk of the time spent scratching my head to work around problems. Before I go further I'd like to say that I'm a farmer not a fabricator or machinist, I can weld well enough to know it won't break but I'm certainly not a professional. So..... what have I got to show you? I've looked through RS and the www and not seen anything quite like this, so I may have created a one off. I thought I'd tease you all with build pictures to see if anyone is on my wavelength, first ones are clues but don't give much away. When and if someone sees through it I'll reveal all. WARNING If you have a certain fondness for the 1973 model 12 auto and feel they should only be restored to completely original condition, you may wish to find a different topic to follow. I actually only have a few clue pic's before things become clearer, have a guess, I think your going to like this.
-
4 pointsIt's a 314 8 speed. How many of those $500 used shovels and SMV sign combos would you like? BOGO and free S & H. You type faster than me Richard.....arthritis ya know. The shovel only has 2 hours on the meter.

4 pointsAwesome score Aldon! Just goes to show that sooner or later a bone gets tossed to the good guys...
-
4 pointsJim, if your question is to me, the answer is no, I've never been to Mentone. However, in the context of Wheel Horse shows, my opinion is that an "all Wheel Horse" show is naturally a better choice for someone looking to see Wheel Horse tractors, find parts, and meet the guys from this forum.

3 pointsLet's keep em in suspense Eric, and I'm sorry I didn't recognize your voice when you called me tonight. I think I know what happened though. My hearing aids have a three position switch ....ON OFF and WIFE. I probably had it on the third one. Jim @WHX11, I like the way you and Duke @HorseFixer think. If it ends up in my herd, after I do some tests, the deuce, the rubber chains, the weight rack, and the glass window will come off and go on my 520H with the foot feed and heated cab. I am partial to the Hydros. I wonder if building Hydro Turbines for 50 years could be the reason.
-
3 pointsNope ... whole tractor is shot .....I better come get it... Naww just kidding ! Sparkeye's got it
-
3 pointsTime to tighten the tension on the pto lever....but before you do that I would pull the clutch bell and check it and the clutch face for scoring, then give the inside a smear of hi speed bearing grease and re-assemble. Mike....
-
3 pointsI don't like an 8 speed for Snow Chuckin that alone turns me off. The Snow Cab with Hard Window and Wipers Are a Plus. With that in mind $1500.00 Is The Very Tops in my book. What I would do is PU for onder 1.5K sell the tractor for 900 to 1000.00 and transplant all those Chuckin Groceries on a C-160 hydro or something.
-
3 pointsI like it Ed but 8 speed is a issue for blowing and I know you & I & others prefer a hydro for that BUT ....that does mean all those nice treats have to stay on it. That cab is imaculate and the deuce ain't too shabby either. Plus your fav rubber chains, weights. I would easily go up to 2500 on that rig and probably even more. I always think about what it would put together that kind of setup with today's money and even what the PO has stuck in it. Tires are not a deal breaker at all. I would bring it home if Bob Barker says the price is right, put those goodies on a machine our shoulders can handle and try and flip the tractor if I didn't have a use (highly unlikely) for it. I have run a 314-8 at plow days and they are unstoppable set up right for that use. That motor ain't even broken in yet. Aldon you on crack if you think that 15 would be a good price, it would be stealing but I get what you mean about 28 on CL and not selling for awhile. Most folks don't get it about that setup 'cause they don't know what us yehoos here know! Good luck Ed and keep us in the loop!
-
3 pointsAnything less than 1500 seems would be a good price. If if it was a CL ad around these parts it would be 2800 or more. Although they don't seem to move quickly.
-
3 pointsEd, will the third time be the charm. Did the owner let it go last time or did he no sell it. when the tractor sold the first time it brought a real good price, and if I remember right it sold for a fair bit less the last time. good luck with the bidding tomorrow. p.s. I saw this earlier and wanted to call you to and make sure you knew about it, but you saved me the trouble eric j
-
3 pointsI guess the shovel must be gold plated! It will probably bring a whole lot less now than it would have in the winter, good luck.
-
3 pointsEd since I am blinded by pollen I can not make out the model , another good thing it comes with its on shovel , and someone left you some dirt or gravel in the blower.
-
3 pointsEd, it sure has all the trimmings with it, nice low hour machine to. best of luck, I hope you get it. Glenn

3 pointsGrab a carrot or a apple and lead that one onto your trailer...That's one clean looking Horse ! What they asking or is this at a auction house ?
-
3 pointsBelieve it or not, I did that on my first B-100 build, The steering wheel that I used was from a Ford. Identical in looks, but it had a splined bore. I drilled out the bore, then drilled and tapped two holes and inserted Allen set-screws. Having said that, I still would like to find a way to make this one original in every way. Call me a purist, or a fool, that's just me.

3 points@Tankman, I couldn't resist modeling up your draw bar drawing. Also, I'm still playing around with the model of my 551. I still need to measure some things, a lot of things....
-
3 points@Aldon, a very nice tractor and score. And the literature!!!!!! Please scan them and place them into our Manual's section, or pm me the scans and I'll create a pdf to place into the appropriate area in the Manual's section. I love literature stuff!

3 pointsI only wish that could manage that compromise over here not only in the quantity, but also the cost departement. I could tell you a few things about shoes and bags but Imelda here may start reading my posts and there is no space to sleep in between my 10 miserly tractors.
-
3 pointsI will try my best to make this one. 7 hours for me but I know others travel farther than that. Thank you rmanard
-
3 pointsALDON....you old snake in the grass.... you've finally come to see the light about these old round hoods instead of messing around with puny tractors and the like. We're proud and if you feel the need to sell we will be here to support you.

3 pointsSo between the storms today, it dried out enough to mow the one yard I cut for $$. About halfway thru the back yard, I see about a 8ish year old boy dragging dad thru the neighbors yard. Turns out he has Asperger's to and seen the tractor as I was driving around the block to the yard from my house. He had to come see it as soon as dad got home and could bring him over. Dad really liked the tractor and thanked me for helping bring more awareness to autism and making his son's day. Pretty cool and it is autism awareness month with yesterday being the official national awareness day. Can't wait to see what kind of attention the Horse get at the shows this year. I am still searching for one of the Glenn's horse head hood ornaments and to swap my larger WH slot hitch plow for one of the smaller ones better sized to a short frame. If anybody is able to help with those, I would greatly appreciate it! Cheers Mike the Aspie I added this decal to the hood since the first pic was taken. Mike
-
3 pointsWell I bought her...On my way to pick her up now
-
3 pointsWell got the frame all welded up inside and out. Weld the crack then weld on both sides of the weld. It was easier than I thought, just jacked up the tractor and let the front dangle and it closed the crack up. It was tuff getting in there to grind the crack till I thought of using the dremel with a diamond bit and it was simple. Now she is nice and straight, and the hood and belt guard lined right up like it was suppose to be.

2 pointsDid I hear someone mention HEATED CAB? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm When you guys start putting Jensen Stereos, Speakers, Motorized Chutes, Coffee Cup Warmers, and remote backup Camera system errrrr wait I don't have mine installed yet! Then I will start getting worried!
-
2 pointsAlton, you hit that one out of the park. I am sorry to be selling some of my machines, but building a new home myself comes at a price, there's the tradeoff for me. Space ........... I like all the paperwork with it to. Best of luck. Glenn
-
2 pointsI have not made it to any shows yet.i joined RedSquare in August 2015 after all the shows were over. and 2016 I was in Kentucky during the shows. So this is the first year I'm able to attend.
-
2 pointsDidn't mean to upset anyone to this point, and I probably took it out of context with a few comments and I'll let rest from here... Now with the trans tunnel covers there is supposed to be speed clips/nuts on the frame (1/4"-20 thread) to hold them fast, was Phillips head stove bolts I changed mine out to button head Allen bolts/screws (stainless steel if you want), Jeff.
