7 pointsA few pics from the 2016 North Central WI Antique Steam & Gas Engine Club show. This show had numerous steam engines, hundreds of tractors, over 20 acres of flea market, and a multitude of demonstrations. Don't know how many people were in attendance but I do know that there were over 400 campers registered on the grounds. There were a fair amount of garden tractors to look at. Don't get to see a corn binder a action too often. Among the Avery's, Altman Taylors and Oil Pulls was this Square Turn tractor. The seat swings around the steering wheel so you can face forward while driving in either direction. Threshing with an Oil Pull. Hooking up to a different threshing machine with a Nichols & Shepard steamer Minneapolis Moline steam tractor running the saw mill. The Pinery Princess also runs on steam. Try as a might I could not catch all the engines in the line up at once. Including a few working scale models there were 22 steam traction engines at the show, plus numerous stationary engines. Packed up & headed home Sun. afternoon.

6 pointsOk you'll make detective, however to be picky you should have noted the freshly cut grass mown by the owner of said shadow. 953 nut you are the man!
-
5 pointsI wasn't expecting you lot to be so playful, I feel I should have some exciting reply now!

4 pointsBesides driving the tractor on the highway, the most useful and enjoyable thing a party hardy red neck can do is get the ironing board that we all have stored in the closet behind the 12 gauge double barrel shotgun out and get it ready for the holidays....... no turkey emoticons??? Here are just a few ideas....... I always ask the relatives to bring their own ironing boards and beer and sleeping bags, bed roll or cot as well. The out house is always fully stocked with Sears and JC Penney catalogs. And if the indians set the telephone poles on fire, get ready for a great old time!!! Bring the camera!

4 points60180 shows up as being made for Simplicity and it has ball bearing so you are OK on the PTO end loading. Oil pan may not need swapping either. (I have a 301 from an Allis on a Electro 12. The carb should not need changing either. The only thing is you may find teh choke works backwards. i have a couple conversions with that issue. a sticker on the dash board to remind me is all it takes to fix that

4 pointsOh yeah show grounds are awesome Dan, its a haul to get over there... 5 hrs plus by the time you stop for gas & food but well worth it! On my calendar every year for sure & Cindy is hooked! The wood clad in action and a couple of cool Fordsons...these stupid phones do take nice photos don't they...

4 pointsThis isn't a tractor but I didn't see another good place for it so here it is. Ever since I started collecting old reel mowers I've had an itch to find a wheel horse reel mower since I love my wheel horse tractors so much. Tonight I finally got to scratch that itch! I was so excited to get hold of this thing and it runs like a champ! I've not seen many of these so if you have one, I'd love to see it. I think it has an incorrect muffler and missing the drive belt shield so I will be on the lookout for those. Also downloaded the manual for it off of here.

4 pointsAccording to Sherlock Holmes it appears to be a 1978 C-161 at sunset casting a shadow on a freshly manicured lawn cut by a 42" side discharge deck!

3 pointsMet a man at a gas station on my way home from a show. He was checking out my Horses and asked if I was interested in some engines. Never discussed a price but I was curious so I stopped by his house to night to see what he had. Turns out he had 2 K181's and some Briggs engines after I picked what I wanted he's said "enjoy" and wouldn't take any money. Tried arguing this fact but he would have nothing to do with it. All 4 engines turn over and are complete

3 pointsWow it is amazing what a fresh look in the am does for your mind and madness! After Garry and John's replies were looked at ths am , two cups of coffee and a rearrangement of the front end (on jack stands) I could see the light and wondered why I did not turn the steering wheel and steering block so I could get a wack at the roll pin last night! I had to get the Nikon camera out to take pictures after it took me only 5 minutes to install the roll pin with the block position as you see it (with enough clearance to get a good angle on the roll pin with a small hammer) These pictures tell the story! Thanks Red Square !

3 pointsLooks like you guys had a great time, the show grounds look awesome. I like the pics of the Cockshutts and the steam engines, the engine with the wood clad boiler is really cool. Might have to put this one on the list for next year.

3 pointsMe thinks, based upon evidence gleaned from Horse46's profile, it is more precisely a shadow, upon grass, of a 1978 C-101/161 16hp Kohler engine with one of two 42" side exit decks.

3 pointsMy , use 4" angel grinder with new wheel . Then chisel and hammer . It's just from past experience . I just foresee to much when blades start bending and catching .
-
3 pointsYou may have done so but I hate to assume in situations like this. Make sure the area under engine between frame and engine allows continuity. When I painted everything including engine, I cleaned all threads with tap to assure that through bolts which connect to cables had a path to ground.

3 pointsFor Jack45 (and anyone else running an HS50 Tecumseh in their Suburban, here are the parts I used to replicate the original exhaust. Starting from the engine 1.5" nipple 45 deg adapter (requires some grinding to clearance the carb linkage) 5" nipple 45 deg adapter 8.5" nipple 45 deg adapter 2" nipple Kohler replica muff I want to give a shout out to Phil854 for the extra help he has provided on this project! Thanks Phil!

3 pointsThere should be a 3/4" lock collar on the shaft which goes between the steering wheel and the hood stand. I have also seen these located right above the bushing in the frame too. This is what keeps the shaft in place. Loosen that lock collar and slide the shaft down through the frame. Attach the block, slide the shaft back up and use that lock collar to hold it in place. You can download the manual and the IPL will show the collar #74 right below the steering wheel. Easier to attach the steering rod after the block is attached to the shaft, as well as all the other steering parts too

2 pointsI've heard everything is bigger in Texas. You guys need to get together with your big trucks and trailers and make a road trip to Horse country and grab everything you can to change the "not enough to go around" situation.
-
2 pointsOn line catalogs; desk top, lap top, I pad or Smart phone? That could be messy!
-
2 pointsThat only works if you put the chair on top of the board! It doesn't work the other way around!

2 pointsFirst off --my skills are absolutely no where near the same league as buckrancher is in and very surprised those names are in the same sentence! It's gotta be able to fit in there some where, I have two pumps mounted on a 416 but yours is a little different. Can you take some more pics of that area in front of the engine but backed out out a little bit so we can see the entire area? Wondering about some modification to the support arm to make a little room. Can that pump can be used bi-directional? (if it has any IN and OUT or flow direction indicators it can't) The new type can but not to sure about that one.

2 pointsToo much plumbing, no place to put a mid-idler due to the undercarriage of the loader. I've got nowhere on the engine to mount a bracket, but I'm thinking about making a bracket that attaches to the frame in front of the engine on the same bolts as the front loader support. Then I will only have to have one longer hose made up.
-
2 pointsThat is so true. My Dad taught me that. Especially when you're working on something as a hobby. He told me to just walk away and think about it for a day or two and come back to it. I just went through that putting a shotgun back together last night.
-
2 pointsGood to see your problem is solved , like you said fresh eyes and a nights rest, is all it takes (a couple cups of Joe don't hurt either) . I've learned patients is the key and frustration leads to nothing good .
-
2 pointsJust got a five-pack of blades. Now let's see what kind of havoc I can wreak.
-
2 pointsMake your own A very smart man here on redsqure told me to get a case of pop and make the gasket out of , Well he said a case of beer but I don't drink so it's pop. The pop case is very thin and strong .works great I did my c160 hydro this way and not one drop has hit the floor . I have to agree with you oldredrider . Using gasket material is the way to go.

2 pointsI just do a search for "Wheel Horse" or if I want to see a specific model, i.e. 753, I search for "Wheel Horse 753", or if I'm looking for a specific action, I'll do a search for "Wheel Horse snow", etc. Takes time, but there are a lot of videos out there.

-
2 pointsYes, WH factory parts The bracket is for mounting a suburban snow/dozer blade to the RJ The pedal is for that blade also and is used to pull the index pin so the blade can be swiveled side to to side using a small rope connected to the corners
