11 points/looks up Wheel Horse on Craigslist... All I need is a pair of 23x10.5x12 turf tires ... And a tiller! ...And maybe that and that and this... "Well there's a set of tires, but they're cracked!" "There's a set of rims & a set of tires, I wonder if they will go together?" "Nope!!!" "Do you sill have the tires you posted 2 hours ago?" "No?!?" Drat!!!" Well, there's a tractor with a tiller. I wonder if they'll sell it separate?" "No? Next add!" Same thing different response. "You will separate? How much? $275 How much do you want for rhe tractor the blade and the tiller?" $300?" Looks like i just just bought my second Wheel Horse!!! Who knows, I might just keep it to use with the tiller! Oh, yeah, I told my wife I'd sell it! I think this might be a common theme around here!?! Hello, New member of Red Square! Thanks to Red Ranger for telling me about Red Square. And thanks to a couple others on C-List and on here for helpful advice. (Namely "Any questions on wheel horses, I love to help" & my New Albion friend Kent). Thought I'd say Hi and hopefully give you a laugh in he process! My tractor would love to be like this when it grows up! (See monster 8 wheeled 520H, begging forgiveness on using your tractor pic from North Central Meet & Greet 2013). The other pic is me on my new hobby! Hello all!

6 pointsWell that depends on how much effort, skill and money you want to through at it. The first picture is of my C-160 when I first got it. The second one is of it 6 months and $1200 later. It is a full body/frame off restoration. Every steering part from the front steering spindles up to the steering wheel was replaced with NOS parts. The transmission was completely rebuilt with all new bearings and seals. I even have an NOS hood that I have yet to put on it. Seems like a lot of money but think about what a new crappy Craftsman goes for. At $1200 it's a bargain and will last forever.

5 pointsHello All, my absolute "favorite" would have to be the one that made me fall in love with "all of them" My 1968 Commando 8 that I bought against my fathers will off the side of the road @ 13. Drove it home and after a week of mummbly grumbly my old man said.... "hmmmph.... pretty good looking piece of iron!" Its my avatar here on the square.... It sits in my garage under a blanket after being signed by Cecil at the last show he was at. Wish he was still around with Betty.... Overall I would have to say that my growing fleet of 953's & 1054's would be running a close second. Tony

5 pointsIn the early days I only thought Kohler and there models. As time went buy I bought a 657 and that was it. I am a Tecky fan now. I am always on the look out for these little [LIGHT] tractors. Ohhh I still like Koehler's but it is the challenge to have a Tecky that runs smooth. I do not like the round hoods because I am tall and they are small. But that I just me. I am Big fan of the 60`s and early 70`s Not fan of the cradle engines = power robbers. Just my

4 pointsI realized that I needed to modify the right side tread plate and belt guard due to the foot pedal I added for the eventual hydro control so since I am in a holding pattern waiting for the welding/fab fella to finish my rear fenders I tackled the modification today. Decided to take a couple extra pics for anyone considering adding Carlisles to the rear. It looks like height is same and width is a bit larger. You lose about a half inch of internal clearance from inner fender to inside edge of tire. First the mod. I basically copied the left side of tractor. Had to add a couple pieces and a fender that was in scrap heap since I am short a couple right now. If I don't get hydro control wrapped up before show, I will lock the pedal in place so it will temporarily be a foot rest.

4 pointsLike @Professor1990 said, my 1055 was my first and will always have a place in my herd, but the 953s are my favorite, though I do like the GT-14 and the RJs are real nice and don't forget how well the 312-8 has served my needs! I just can't decide, I just love the RED ones.

Actually, none of that is true, but it’s the story that Saturday Night Live‘s Paul Shaffer told on April 22, 1978 as he announced the worldwide television debut of that night’s musical guest, the Blues Brothers—the not-quite-real, not-quite-fake musical creation ofSNL cast members Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. The characters and the band that Belushi and Aykroyd unveiled that night took more than two years to evolve. The first incarnation came during SNL‘s first season, in a January 17, 1976, appearance singing “I’m a King Bee” as “Howard Shore and his All-Bee Band.” There were no dark suits, skinny ties or Ray-Bans at that point, but the appearance did feature Aykroyd on the harmonica and Belushi on vocals belting out a blues classic very much in the style of the future Elwood and “Joliet” Jake Blues, albeit while wearing bee costumes. The Blues Brothers’ look—and much of their repertoire—would come together after Belushi’s trip to Eugene, Oregon, during the hiatus between SNL seasons two and three to filmAnimal House. 3 pointsHi everyone, it's good to find you all on this site. Nice to know there's others out there who appreciate these well made iron horses. I hope to find out more about the age of my tractors and where to get parts. Although mine aren't show tractors they're fixed up pretty nice and are daily users.

3 pointsSounds about right I think you will find this is the best support group for your newfound addiction to . Believe me it doesn't take long for them to multiply. I acquired my first one about three months ago, the second one came along about two-three weeks ago, and now the habit has rubbed off on my wife...we are going on a road trip Sunday to pick up her first one LOL

2 pointsWell here is the 520 with the used hood I bought for it and all degreased. I haven't fully serviced it yet but at least it's now running and driving. Still don't what the plan is for it. It's actually starting to grow on me although I have no room to keep it stored indoors. I know wether I sell it or not it's going to get the hood and seat pan painted and new decals. I may paint few other of the panels too. A couple of the steering tie-rod ends need replacement and I'm going to replace the fuel lines as I'm sure they're starting to de-laminate inside.

2 pointsThe "good" thing about the LS is the coolant doesn't flow through the intake it self none of that mess, and no distributor to retime or mess with, it's just all those dang electronic connections hanging or bolted in the way and plastic emission tubing, the engine/trans was mounted to the frame before the cab and fenders were fitted so that makes it worse for us DIY'ers, and we fuss when we get the labor bill from a repair shop, but a Haynes manual is a great big help with actual pics of what we are working ok, sorry for your misfortune, but when those faux gauges go bad/crazy they trigger the ECM/PCM to trigger the check engine light also to grab your attention, it's not always something mechanical as it's usually electronic nature more often than not just my experiences from having buddy at the Chevy dealer service shop, Jeff.

2 pointsThose bars are home made. You want them in the approximate position shown and about 1/4" away from the belt. This will funnel the slack in the belt (when you step on the clutch) toward the engine pulley and the belt will stop and so will the input pulley on the transmission. Thus, no grinding. Your belt guard has or had tabs that did the same thing.
