So I had a tough day at work today, momma and the kids are away at the in laws for the week so I decided to pull the sr out, hook up the pull behind aerator, light up a stogie and crack a beer... I felt much better after and ended up doing somd mowing on the 520lxi. maybe someone can crop these pics??

Jada decided she wants do drive the wheelhorses because her battery on the simplicity was dead. She can just reach the clutch pedals and I kept both the 502 and C-101 in low range so no matter what gear she selected it was still slow enough. I've created another monster! click for short videos...

Last weekend I drug home a C-125 parts tractor to molest for parts for my C-161 that I got going a while back. It had all the things that the old 161 was needing: good seat, good clutch plate, better tires, and most importantly, GOOD ORIGINAL NELSON MUFFLER! Someone long ago put one of those stupid pepper pot pieces of crap on it and I nearly went deaf when I mowed with it for the first time last weekend. Just got the muffler swapped over, and HOLY CRAP you never realize how loud something is until it's not loud anymore. What an insane difference that thing makes! I'd say at least a 40% reduction in noise. That muffler alone was worth the $100 I paid for the parts tractor.

Went to look at mid grader blade for my son, I picked up the blade and a couple of horses jumped on the trailer, had no choice but to bring them home. 314 with 502 hrs, no deck but runs good and came with a 3000 watt genarator already mounted 551 one owner with the trailer they bought new from a wheel horse dealer in NC, the only thing that I see that is not origanal is the fuel tank but the straps are still on.

Hello from Germany my name is Andre Reissmann. I live in Thuringia, Germany. I am writing a translator so don't be surprised if something is not right. I have a Toro Wheel Horse 523DXI with some extras like integrated hydraulic with triple control unit, and an additional working hydraulics individually driven with a belt. I have the tractor already 10 years and it's actually a really good tractor many greetings from Deutschland MFG Andre

Wife keeps reminding me you get what you pay for. Since she is a well endowed lady with narrow feet, I pay a lot for bras and shoes, but wow, is she worth it! Same goes for everything else in life. Since I like to pay less for most things, I keep having to re-learn this lesson. Sorry the Deestone tires fall into this category,

The Raider 12 shares the mowing duties with the C-120 and now the 312 hydro. Late last year, the Raider started running poorly... no power and requiring full choke to run at all. So yesterday, I pulled the carb ( Carters 26) and was really surprised at how clean it was. It appears the Sea Foam and Sta-Bil are doing their job. With the carb off, I did crank the engine to verify I had a good fuel supply from the pump. Of course I flushed all holes with carb cleaner but really didn't find any dirt. The other known problem was the throttle shaft was loose in the carb. So I decided to remove the shaft and install a bushing. If you ever do remove the throttle plate screws, remember to file or grind away the back side of the screws as they have been crimped to prevent loosening and they will break off if you try to remove them without removing the burred up threads. After removing the shaft, sure enough, the shaft was worn and loose. Simple fix is to press in one of the 1/4 X 7/16 X 1/8 inch bronze bushings that I bought from Brian Miller several years earlier into the counter bore where the seal was located. Now...where did I put the bushings ? I finally gave up and went to ACE but all I could find was a 1/4 X 3/8 X 1 inch bronze bushing. Not wanting to wait for a new supply of bushings from Miller, I set up the carb on the drill press using a 1/4" piece of drill rod, then drilled a 3/8" hole 1/2" deep and pressed in the bushing. Then cut off the bushing flush with the top of the carb so some of the unworn part of the shaft is in the new bushing. The raider now starts and runs full range with good power without any choke at all. Sorry, I didn't take pics, But If you go to Brian Millers web site, he has all the details on how to make this repair.

Ever lose a hood from a Charger/Raider on SR-23? One day on my commute from work in Walkerton to my house in South Bend about 13 years ago I picked up a hood laying perfectly in the road just south of North Liberty. Still have it... Great area. Some day I'll move back. For the OP, I'm not in Indiana anymore but did live there for about 10 years. First in South Bend, then in West Lebanon (now there's a small dot on the map...). Great people, those Hoosiers. Great state. Ironically, in my home base of southern Illinois around St. Louis, MO the word "hoosier" doesn't quite carry the same cachet...means "white trash" of sorts and is used with wreckless abandon. So, perhaps I've always been a hoosier of one kind or another. Steve

Here is a picture from back in the winter, after I had burned off some of the wood. That little stuff in the center would have been very difficult to stack and keep stacked. I did cap a tarp over the stack after I took the top off it. I didn't think it would shed water properly. I guess a true frontiersman would have restacked a watershedding top on each time he got in wood. May have to turn in my true frontiersman's card. Of course, none of this seemed to worry Louie the Dog.

I'm glad someone else did this as well, l did a short vid of my teenage daughter rolling the lawn a few weeks back. She had the ear defenders on and goodness knows what music was being pumped in, she was off in another world...playing the drums.. Singing, it was so funny. She laughed when I showed it to her later, but I was forbidden from ever sharing.

Had a go at carefully removing the center crossed flags emblem from my Grant steering wheel Corvette horn button. Then cleaned off the remanent of the adhesive and used some PVC pipe cement to stick it to the center plate of the chrome hydro fan gaurd. I think it turned out to be quite a nice finishing touch.

Back in the early '80's I had a D180 that I loved and had to sell when I moved. Always missed my Wheel Horse so when a C141 appeared on CL, I just had to buy it as I now have 50 acres to play with. Still would like a D series though. I admire the other models of Wheel Horse that I see on the site, especially the old ones, but my personal favorites are the C series and D series. The C series for the looks and the D series for their brawn. I constantly troll CL for a D series but have seen only one for sale and it was priced way too high for its condition. What is your favorite model Wheel Horse? Input please.

If the 1533 was not used in the UK could this type of setup be fitted to US built trans now that the 1533 is no longer available? I know used parts are out there but this could be an alternative? the fact that it's metric could be an issue?

Well I got the transmission all reassembled now it's ready to slide back into the frame. Here she is all ready to go back together. Here it is almost in. I like this pic with the other 520lxi in the background Then worst part of the whole project so far was trying to get the transmission back in the frame. It wasn't to hard but I got frustrated a few times trying to get the holes lined up and the drive shaft lined up at the same time. But it wasn't that bad I wouldn't be a deal breaker if I had to do it again. Now transmission all bolted in drive shaft bolted back together I figured it would be easier to fill it up with oil before I got the fenders and gas tank back on so I could clean any spills up easily. Seems to becoming along nicely so far. Thanks for looking

Just had my antique HP Pavilion G (Windows 7) in for a $50 cleaning . He removed all virus and google chrome. Installed Malware, C Cleaner, Mozilla/ Foxfire. He recommended I stay with Windows 7 as he had just received a notice from MS stating they will support W 7 through year 2020. His comment was ..stay with W7 because W 10 will be obsolete by 2020 anyway.

Your local shop and you are feeling the effects of too many lawyers wanting to make a quick buck. No to them doing it covers their behind if something should go wrong while they do it for you and after if it blows while you are installing back on your machine.

I think it is called a Holtz Hausen. What I liked about it was that I could stack all the knotty wood, the small pieces and the short pieces, etc. in the middle. When I try to put these in a straight stack, they tend to make it fall over. This stack is steady, it doesn't fall over. I plan on stacking all this wood in that matter, so I may video it. Like I said, I stack the firewood with the "good" shapes in the outer circle and pile the odd shaped wood in the middle. I guess the key is the top of the stack. Evidently it works like an old wood shingle roof.

The mountain side behind our house is covered with beech trees. Big'ens, little'ens and all other sizes. I wanted to cut some of the huge ones so the smaller ones could get some sunlight. Like it was said, these old trees are hollow and have little or no value for lumber. But they make real good firewood. Just gotta keep them dry, because they do rot fast. Here's a picture of how I stacked my last run of beech firewood. And over 95% of it was still dry when I burned it this winter. And this was my first try at this type of wood stack. When I get a chance, I'll post a close up picture of the busted piece. It looked like a bomb had gone off inside it.
