Just got four news shoes for the C 105. Chains ate the tires up this past winter. I suppose after 35 years they served well... Added an inch width to each and it seems to grab better. Fits great. Also picked up a utility spot light for the back. Hard wired so its on when the lights are on. Found that I never use the lights unless plowing, and since my son and I are going backwards as often as forwards it makes sense...Works great!

So I plowed for the first time ever on Saturday, as I've done nothing but use a walk behind tiller in the years previous. Never again I say, from here forward it will be done from the luxury of a tractor seat! I must have picked the perfect time to plow because it was super easy to turn the dirt. I'm on turf tires, no weights, and no chains. I only had to back up 3 or 4 times. I did run into a slight issue though. I gauged myself off of the front wheel in the furrow, which in turn left me with ridges between each furrow that are the same width as the front tire. Should I have been gauging myself off the rear tire? That's what it seems like to me! Here's a pic of this years plot...I'll post a pic of the "ridges" when I get back home. Here is a pic of the rear of the 520...makes me think about running narrower wheels and tires.

In January I attended a two day seminar titled "Understanding Islam". I came away with a considerable amount of information and knowledge about the global Muslim population; but I will never understand the concept of Islamic Jihad. Jack, For $85.00 I couldn't let this go.My 416-8 was rode hard and put up wet many times.The upper dash panel has severe cracks on both lower corners,the hood stand had broken ears at the rear and was poorly repaired.I plan on using this frame,install a gear reduction steering and rebuild the 416 from this frame up.I hope to keep the tractor off line for the least amount of time but still get it nice.JAinVA JimAnderson Gloucester,Va

Yea I had a 1968 ford 120 garden tractor, I got that 857, runs great now with no smoke or noises, every gear works great and he put new battery in it for me. But I also picked up another toy too...

Guys, I found this WH near my house and am interested in your opinion - how much is it worth and what type of market exists for the 60th Anniversary Classic GT? I grew up with a WH and would love to continue the tradition. This is a 2007 (checking on hours, if there's a meter). The gentleman selling it bought it new from the dealer and used it to mow grass and plow light snow. It comes with a 42" mower deck, WH wagon, WH plow blade, and chains. Thanks!

Friends, and I mean that most sincerely, this came unexpected and out of the blue. Hit me like a ton of bricks. A few of you know of my own medical conditions I have been dealing with for the past few months. My kid brother and I, and it's just the 2 of us, we're very very close. I just can't explain to the full extent the sorrows and loss I am feeling. Thank the Lord for the love of my wife of 43 years and my 2 sons, my family and these words and prayers from you fellas on red square mean so very very much to me. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I have always felt that if I can't give something my all, then I shouldn't be doing it. I have stretched myself too thin and some things had to give. I am not leaving the Square by any means. I just can not justify being a moderator here when I have only been checking in once a week. Thanks to all of the support I have received in the hobby and especially our show. This is truly a very special place to be!

He's got an old run down piece of junk rust bucket that was never taken care of and was abused and neglected and was the color of his (unwashed) skivvies. Begged me to take it off his hands cause the neighbors were starting to whine about his taste in tractors...... NAAWW....just kidding..... a show RJ59.....he needs the cash to buy a old run down piece of....... nevermind.....did mention something about green and yellow tho

I don't know what it's worth, but if the seller is asking $500 to $1000 for a 9-year old, 350-hour tractor with a deck, blade, and cart then he hasn't been looking very hard for similar machines in his area. A 10-year older 520 can easily bring $1200 or better. A 40 year old C-160 can knock on the door of $1000 with three attachments. If you found one with such low hours it would be a hot commodity in these circles. Ill be be contrary and say the decals do in fact add something to the tractor. It's the end of an era. An omega. In other circles (cars, guns, stamps...) final runs can be more highly valued. I don't see why not here. Given age and condition alone, he probably ought to be in the $1500 range. Would not surprise me if he wanted even more. 50% depreciation in 9 years would still have it being quite valuable. Anyway, I don't know what it's really worth. But I think we're aiming low as a group here. Best of luck. Steve

I had a deck worse than yours. Cut and weld. Turned out good and saved a deck. Your old deck is heavier metal than that newer one which looks like there is a metal bar added between the two rear brackets.

Hello red square new member here, I would like to share my very first tractor with you all. A 1958 rj58 that I picked up the other day. This past Friday I left work a half hour early to make it to the bank to only travel 10 mins down the road from my job to purchase a rj. So I took it home and enjoyed my weekend staring at it! Can't play yet with it... Have some searching and work to do XD

Wow, nice haul but your going to need to step it up a bit to keep up with the haulers on this forum! Just some quick figuring and you should have been able to load another 5 side by side and one hangin out the truck bed! Cuts down on the cost per Wheelhorse that way! Just kidding,so many possibilities with that Wheelhorse. You know you have a great wife when she hauls with her truck! Have to show this to my wife. Thanks for posting.

not sure it's worth a lot more now as an anniversary addition at this point in time. but there was only so many built, i forget the exact number built. I would like to add one to my stable someday and i have a buddy that bought one and only drove it around at shows so it looks like brand new with less then 20 hrs on it and it was signed by Cecile Pond. he had it for sale at shows asking about what he paid for it new and so far nobody has taken him up on it. with some luck it could be worth more in years to come if it is taken care of and not used and abused, but it is still a gamble. i say don't buy it for the value a lone but buy it and take care of it and it may just pay you back in the long run eric j

Yeah, once you start a collection, it'll keep growing and growing.. Good deals will pop up from time to time, like the one you are looking at now. But when those good deals pop up, you have to jump on them right away. About a month or two ago a guy in the Lancaster area had a barnfull of wheel horses, I jumped on that right away, and someone still got ahead of me. All of them sold in a couple hours. Plus, collecting is very fun. I buy and sell, to get money to buy and keep. But once you get into it, you meet all kinds of people and see all different kinds of things, its interesting. I wish you luck!

Thanks! I hope I can get it too. My dad has been giving me tips when buying, we have a bunch of round fender I'd 110's, a couple speedex's, and two Baird beaver tractors. I have two that are "mine" but I have never actually bought myself a tractor. I have bought myself 4 maytag engines, but no tractor. I appreciate your tips because I'm not sure I would've thought to check for a loose engine but oh well, I'm only 15 and still learning! I really appreciate all of the help I am receiving on this site! Makes me glad I joined!

Hood and gas tank came out pretty good. Front bearings ordered and should be in on Friday. Next week I should have a roller.

Looks to be in really good shape for it's age. Nice thing about these litte guys is easy to get around trees & stuff in the yard. Bet it will cut a fine head of fescues.

Beautiful countryside and fantastic pictures. We have a large garden as well and Iowa has no shortage of varmints, deer and raccoons. We stopped planting corn because of the coons, and the rabbits chew on everything but the pepper plants. I chase em like Elmer Fudd with my 12 gauge. Gives the neighbors a good show and a good laugh.....

Koozies came in today and yes they work well with one of my favorite 12 OZ. beverages

I'd run some 6-12 ag's and rims. Narrower tire means more psi on the ground and more traction IMHO. fatter tires float more while the narrow ones dig in.

We have lots of drains like that on larger pumps at work. I install plugs into the valves though so oil does not get accidentally drained. Looking good.
