    OK people....time to be creative !!!! I am going to bring a MASH pole to the BIG SHOW,,,bring you own personal piece of wood ..plastic,,metal(tin ), paint it or not,..use your name or hometown,,,miles from home... Red Square name,,,anything you think will catch everyone"s eye....i will bring extra strips of wood and a few magic markers, a screw gun ,,and a table .... it will be a 4x4 post about 8 feet tall,,,,,BIG SHOW at the top.....it will be near my up fast tent...i try to be on the inside of the first turn,,near membership registration. try to make therm between 18"-24" long and no more than 4 inches tall.............if it fills up.....we will bring 2 next time... Where did the idea come from??? I saw a pic of some poor guy waiting for a bus Headed to New York laying in his lap....lol See you at the show,,,,,,,,there is no prize...The Show is the real winner !!!!!!! HOWARD in Virginia..

    I brought my Bronco 14 out of winter hibernation today and introduced it to little brother! I know they look a little rough, but I kinda like them that way.

    I went big. This tractor will get an electric PTO clutch up front, but it will be a single pulley for the rear PTO, so AG only, I'll be putting the manual; clutch with the double pulley on my other D-160 which didn't have one when I got it. I got it. These tires were a present, and wifey had the tire guys put them on, been at the VA a lot and real tired, hope to be better soon

    Weeds in Southside aren't tall enough yet. Lot of moss . Heck I need a goat , that way the horses will stay pretty and I can devote more time to napping.

    3-17-1958 The Champs’ “Tequila” is the #1 song on the U.S. pop charts Written on the spot and recorded as an afterthought near the end of a session at Gold Star Studios in Los Angeles, the song—”Tequila” —hit #1 on the Billboardpop chart on March 17, 1958. It was the Champs’ one, and only, pop hit. Half a century later, this accidental, one-word classic still sounds as fresh and irresistible as it did to the long-forgotten Cleveland disk jockey who rescued it from the cutout bin of history. The reason “Tequila” needed rescuing is that it was never really intended to be a hit. It was recorded rather hastily one afternoon in December 1957 to fill the B-side of a single called “Train to Nowhere,” by Dave Burgess. Burgess was a minor rockabilly guitarist in the Los Angeles area whose day job was as an A&R man with Gene Autry's fledgling record label, Challenge. After a session of laying down instrumental tracks for the country singer Jerry Wallace’s next album on Challenge, a frugal Dave Burgess decided to use the leftover studio time to record his own B-side. It was not uncommon at the time for B-sides to be devised in the studio from some or other riff contributed by a session musician, and this one would be no exception. Saxophonist Danny Flores contributed the now-familiar melody and vaguely Latin, syncopated rhythm. He also contributed the low, growling vocal line, “Tequila,” without which the song might truly have remained the throwaway it was intended to be. It was only after the “Tequila” session that the musicians present that day came up with a name for themselves, inspired by the name of Gene Autry’s horse, Champion. It was also after that session that Danny Flores came up with the pseudonym “Chuck Rio,” under which he was given the songwriting credit on “Tequila.” None of this would have mattered, however, had a Cleveland DJ not decided to “flip” the flop called “Train to Nowhere” one day in the winter of 1958 and treat his listeners to the first broadcast of “Tequila,” which in short order went on to become one of the biggest B-side hits in rock-and-roll history and a #1 hit for the Champs on this day in 1958.

    I finally made a little more progress. I got the back wheels and tires broke down. Blasted the back wheels and painted front and rear wheels. Cleaned the tires to prep for tire paint. Also put final coat of primer (I hope) on the hood. Steering wheel painted and ready to install. Poor 15 came in so I can treat the gas tank and paint it.

    Take the side plates off, remove the auger shear bolts, then slide out the augers. Make note of (or take a picture) so you put them back on correctly. Augers may be rusted on. Mine were not on either blower that I rebuilt last year. My blowers are the 2 stage on a 520 but I think they are basically the same except for the mount.

    Thanks to your photo I was able to make the parts I was missing using scraps and a milling machine. Not stock but functional. Thanks

    John...that is just HILARIOUS Speaking of Viagra....if you have potatoes in your pantry from the fall, rub them with Viagra....they will stay hard all Winter.

    Some of the '4-speed' transmissions had that double D brake drum. I've had a couple over the years. The 5080 is one of them. It's possible you're just stuck in two gears locking up the transmission. Pull the shifter and look down the hole. It should look like this when in neutral. If it's not use a screwdriver and move them to this position and see if it frees up.

    my baby..I mow with this...522xi.... had the rear bagger..its gone now..and the counter weight is off the cutting deck to. I have the snowblower. its never been mounted. I also have the blade. thats been used two or three times. but not by me. If you find attachments..grab them. Patience..keep looking..you will find stuff. Its probably my favorite machine. big. comfortable. powerfull. cozy.. Glenn

    There are a few here that have been know to jump up in the middle of the night in pj's & slippers and go check the horses... I know one guy @Racinbob that has a flashlight & tape measure on his nightstand!!

    I pray the four letter word is RAIN. Even rain would be a mess. Trying to grade another drive, mud and more mud. I live on top of clay, rock, a mountain of stone. Hey, at least I don't need a tiller! I do use a tine dethatcher, blower, mid-mount grader, blade, and grandsons (cheap labor, love to drive Horses!).

    I just got done wrestling off a drive pulley, fly wheel. Ordinary pullers did fine. Then I spent two days fighting with GT14 hubs. Once again the hydraulic puller has risen to one of the best purchases I've made this past year. It took all 10 tons of muscle as well as heat and Kroil along with my own stubbornness but the hubs lost the fight again.

    Hello Guys- my latest project is a survivor 16 auto- I got it from a friend all in pieces-it has taken quite a while to get this far-but it is coming together nicely-what is the interest level in these models? I plan to sell it to raise funds for my Foster Son. Thanks for looking - Al

    Warm weather and some vacation time use or lose. So I got a few things done this week. Good news - I finally got rims from powder coat. Bad news - the tire monkeys tore both tubes on front rims and totally mauled the powder coat. Should have went with bright white as I could more easily match it for touch up but went with cream color. Sort of off white. Tire monkeys indicated they would fix them or replace but they have no clue that rims are not easily replaced. So I had everything staged to install the wheels and weights. That's now on hold indefinitely. I tried finding 4 inch 9/16-18 bolts to replace the older bolts which were banged up and rusty. Only option located was through Fastenal. They had some grade 8 bolts in California. Only 22 bucks apiece! OUCH So I decided to try and refresh and recycle. Sandblasted rust off them, ran a die down the length and primed with etching primer. Figure that will suffice as they are not visible as I will be using stainless lug nuts anyway. weights are ready. Bolts are ready. Engine is almost ready to mount. Everything on on hold due to tire monkeys. Impossible to move forward without the tires...Frustrated!!!!!

    Buy some new grease zerks that are threaded 1/4-20 (if yours aren't already) Then weld a 1/4-20 nut over the hole you drilled in the bushings. Install the zerk into the nut. I did that a while back on my snowmobile suspension when the wall thickness was too thin to allow a threaded zerk.

    WOW...that is way too cool. I don't get it either...I've never heard of anything like that. Not on something from the 1960's. If it was a Lunar Modular...OK...but not a K181 Kohler. Glad you found the problem though.

    Really it was just a fluke. The key switch didn't light up when I put my probe to it so I thought since it was old and left outside for years it was junk.I thought I would take it off clean/sand the connections and test it again.This time it worked. Now since I had already cleaned the carb very,very well it sounded very sluggish and would only stay on low idol while wearing the battery down, but wheni would turn the key as far to the right as it would go it seemed to get some extra punch,then when it would go back to the run position it sounded very sluggish again. That's when I thought I wonder what would happen if I put the jumper from battery positive to coil positive if it would give me some more punch, and it did and ran great. I could throttle up and down and it runs great. So the bottom line..... Beats the hell out of me!! LOL !

    Nope, a tiller, but I think it could pull a locomotive. 12" tri-ribs up front. Yep, 12" tri-ribs on 4"-12" steel rims bolted on cast iron dexter trailer hubs

    The deck carriage could probable be altered to mount on the 1055. You would have to use the 1055s existing side drive and idling / clutch pulley system though as there is no PTO on the 1055. Also, the blades would be turning too slow unless you put a larger dia drive pulley on the engine or smaller one on the deck.

    Y'all have got me wanting an RJ now! These are some great pics. RJs are cool little tractors! When my retired next door neighbor moved away to the lake about 15 years ago, he offered to sell his '58 to me. But at the time I just was not interested, but I know better now! Actually I think I know where there may be one. I'm gonna have to investigate I reckon.

    Creative engineering is how the rules were made; Gary never broke the rule, they were created because of his innovative thinking. Once the rule had been established others would push the envelope while Gary was coming up with his next "innovation".
