Dear Lord, Bob Maynard will be undergoing delicate spinal surgery tomorrow morning. Please guide the surgeon's hands to be steady and effective to do the task at hand , and not create any further damage We pray against any infection or complications. Calm the heart of Bob's family. Give Bob your peace so his body can heal under the best conditions. In the name of Jesus, bless Bob to be healthier after this procedure than before. Lord allow this temporary trial to bring this family closer to you and each other. When Bob is coming out of surgery, let the side effects be minimal. Work a miracle in this whole situation and bless it from beginning to end. Thank you Lord for your blessing on this family. We praise you as we know we are in good hands- the very hands of God. In Jesus name, we thank you for each day. Amen.

I just returned from my second visit to the crash site in Shanksville, Pa. During my first visit the museum was just being designed. It is now finished and I recommend this to be put on every ones to do list. It is a somber but inspiring experience to read the events leading up to the brave action these passengers took to crash this plane in the middle of unpopulated mountains of Somerset County, instead of allowing the hijacking terrorists to complete their mission of crashing it into the Capital in Washington, DC. A lot of tears were shed today while listening to recordings of several final phone calls that were made by the passengers to their loved ones. The crash site and memorial park is located about 60 miles SE of Pittsburg, Pa.

The RedSquare 2016 PDF Calendar is ready to down load and print. I want to thank all those that contributed their excellent pictures. I know this came close to not happening this year, I hope you guys like what we did. Next year, we will have more time and possibly a theme. Please take some good winter pictures as we get snow for next years picks. Please pay attention to background...trash cans, cars with license plates, framing, shade & sun, etc. A good digital camera is a plus. I will start a thread and we will get a good line on it. Thanks guys...I can tell you, it is not easy to pick 12 pictures. I hope you guys like it. Look for Squonks calendar information in the next few days.

<start battery rant> You guys are confusing the significance of cold cranking amps in relation to overall battery life. First up, that little permanent magnet starter motor on your Kohler engine (with automatic compression release) will never get near 100 amps of current flow, even when cranking in old temperatures. Maybe if the armature is locked, but then you have bigger fish to fry. 400+ CCA? let's pause for a little sanity check. arc welders don't use 400 amps!!! Big, cold, V8 engines and diesels do. Not Kohler starters. Check out the maximum amperage rating on your 6AWG or even a 4AWG battery cable. Nowhere near 400+ amps. IMHO, a total waste of hard earned $$ as you are paying a premium for amperage you will never need. This amperage could never be used by the starter or be delivered thru a stock LG wire harness. the two issues most likely killing your battery are vibration and lack of understanding of proper battery maintenance in summer and winter. the reason a higher CCA battery appears to "last longer" is you simply have more plate area in the battery to abuse and therefore poor maintenance and insufficient charging of the battery just takes longer to kill it. 400 CCA is not a "better battery" for LG applications. You would be ahead in $$'s, time and level of frustration if you just anticipate and plan for replacement of the smaller battery every 3 years. Choose a battery with pop off fill holes for each cell and check each cell for water level every month or so. Any plate area left exposed to air becomes "dead" from sulfation and is permanently removed from the batteries active plate area. If you allow half your electrolyte to boil off before refilling the cells, you permanently loose half your battery capacity and the battery appears to die a sooner than expected death. If you are doing a lot of start and stop running of the engine, throw the battery on a float charger at the end of the day. And NEVER, EVER run a battery till the starter stops cranking because you have a engine that will not fire up. Dropping a lead acid battery below 10 volts is a sure way to PERMANENTLY handicap even a new battery. And NEVER, EVER use a 200 amp quick charger on a LG style battery. You can easily warp and short out the plates in the case. The outcome could easily be a battery that will never charge above 10 volts again. In the winter, remove the battery from the tractor and place it on a FLOAT CHARGER only. If you have use for the tractor in cold seasons, and have the means, a solar panel charger on your shed will extend the life of your batteries left for winter storage on the tractor. This step alone could add a year or more to your batteries life. <end battery rant>

While we are sharing stories...lol...Over the T Giving weekend with family around...I was bragging on my C 141, Wife said something and all laughed...but I didn't hear it, once repeated she said "her" mower a 7sp Craftsman would out run my WH....OH HELL NO...this brought on a 5 lap race in the drive with obstacles to go around to complete the lap...I soon found she was a sleeper and had some speed with that thing, so on the downhill run on our paved drive I found I could kick it out of gear and let the gravity advance my position...lol...needless to say the hairpin curve at the bottom created an issue, Yep I had the Horse on 2 precarious legs for a moment, but powered her through...she would have won had I not cut her off into the flowerbed (lmao)...She may have speed, but my Wheel Horse has all the power...She says I cheated, I say I adapted and overcome my objective !!!!!

I feel your pain, few years back I was messing around on my 753 pulling a rear cultivator. I lowered it down, it just so happen that where I lowered it and it engaged the ground it caught a tree root. It stopped that tractor dead and it stood stright up. I slid right off the seat because I had no cushion on the seat pan. It was nice and slick gloss red. I land on the cultivator right on my butt. So there I am with a cultivator shoved up my backside and the tractor standing darn near stright up and doing a dance. I could not get off of that cultivator and the tractor bucking kept trying to go. Like to beat me to death. It all happen in are heart beat. Little tractors can rare up and flip just like big farm tractors.

I would normally post a picture of one of the tractors but figured after finally finishing this barn after almost two years of work I thought this would be my best submission. Hey... if you look close there is a horse there

One of my younger cousins also had a real appreciation for gravity. My uncle had purchased a JD (just cant say that) 110 with a cart and figured there wouldn't be any harm in letting his ten year old son take the other three children for a ride; after all the farm was on a private road. My cousin got a bit tired of putting around at two or three MPH so he drove to the top of the hill and pushed in the clutch; don't know how fast that thing went but he tells me the tires on the cart full of kids were bouncing off the ground. When he let out on the clutch to slow down the 110 and cart went into the ditch and dumped the whole bunch harmlessly into the hay field. My uncle knew then that this boy was going to be a handful, he was correct!

Love the intrigue and secrecy you had going on. I have a three point York 48" with the drop down blade also, it came with my GT-14. I don't get too much use out of it since we have a paved driveway but it is handy for smoothing out the garden after plowing.

Since it backfires out the muffler it is going to be an "electrical problem". Low battery voltage when running, dirty or incorrectly gapped points, bad condenser, even a poor contact in the ignition switch. A blown fuse to the battery and the ignition feeds off the charging circuit will make the motor run really bad.

So, RedSquare has a lot of resources available to it. We have manuals, galleries etc already built in. So it doesn't make any sense to duplicate that work, but in this area have links to the resources such as manuals etc. When I get some time, I'll start a template and we'll get this going. Since it will be in wiki format, we can utilize everyone on the forum who is willing to help to populate the information.

glad you wernt hurt also,i too have been thrown off, once on my 308,pulling a large rock,it grabbed a root and over she came, the implement lift bar stabbed me in the chest and I got my leg torn up from the tire chains spinning,it was very scary, and once when I first got my 160 auto with the rear fender that lifts, the latch was broken and when I first got her the belt was very grabby,so when I hit the forward lever over I went, the tractor smashed into my truck and dented it pretty good,it happens so fast its unbelievable

If you've used the new classfied section, you'll notice that it has fields which can be selected values, mandatory, optional etc.. What if we created a wiki style with the required information for each model. We could then have a searchable system with complete details on each model. I would build the framework, then everyone can have fun populating it, maybe even put a link to the manual for that model?

What a fun season it's been. I'm anxious to watch the Iowa/Michigan State game. Just because the west is weaker it doesn't mean they couldn't have done the same thing in the east. I'm still pondering on that one. Notre Dame is out of the playoffs but what a great season especially being so devastated by injuries all season. Two losses to two top 10 teams by a total of four points. A botched play review on their last touchdown went their way but probably cost them the game . Oh well, if they would learn how to get touchdowns when they are in the red zone they never would have been in that position . From what I'm reading this morning there could be a Big 10 team in store for them in the bowl game. Objection....calls for speculation.... This thread has been a lot of fun. The humor, poking fun , downright heated times but in the end, as always with the folks here....it ends up

Yup I keep telling them. If you have old worn out 6 ga battery cables and ends, all that cranking power is going right down the toilet. A lot of guys in my Power King group say you have to put a group 24 battery on it because you need all this cranking power. well the original battery was a 24 but unless you want it to be original looking it's a waste. I start mine on a 230 CCA L & G unit.

That's exactly how it went too, minus the cultivator on my butt. Happened real fast! The first time I'm guessing the front was a foot off the ground. Scary enough, especially on black top. Second time in the grass when it stood straight up....All I could think was this is gonna hurt! Luckily all I ended up with was a wet ass from all the rain we got this last week and a story my son will never let me live down. Wish I'd gotten a picture of the tractor standing on its rear tires with the hitch tongue stuck in the ground, all 4 duals just digging away in third gear. I was to concerned to get it back on all four. I'm glad it didn't flip on the blacktop too. Kohler and correct pulleys before I ride again. I'll get this horse tamed! Next go around, I'm getting a re-pop.

Pretty scary...wheelie bars and a helmet sound like a better option. You can bet that those duels aren't going to spin in the dirt, grass or driveway...just lift that front end off the ground. While adding more weight to the front may help, make sure the weight is secure, or you may be catching that while you are on your back. Other then all that...nice horse.

Sorry for not having an answer to your question ( I am in North Carolina ), but I do want to thank you for becoming a Red Square Supporter on your first day here as a Member. Thats what I call "Leading By Example" ! If your Kohler is lables K-301 it's more than likely a 12hp engine. Count the number of bolts holidng the cylinder head on the block. The 16's and only the 16's have ten head bolts. The 10, 12, and 14hp engines all have nine (9).

I respectfully disagree, the 200 at TS is $27 and you are doing well to get two years of life from it and it will let you down at the most inconvenient time; the 420 st TS is $50 and has proven to outlast the 200 more than double.

Brrly1 thinks Iowa would rather play Michigan St. The way Ohio St. played today...................FINALLY, I tend to agree with him. Another great year for Ohio St. Jim. Congratulations. Michigan had a great season also...next year is going to be like WOW for the Big Ten. Iowa had the season most of us only dream about...congratulations to them. Wisconsin's going to be OK...coaching change hurt them. Northwestern had a great year...don't over look them next year either. Watch out for Nebraska next year...they are going to win some of those close games. Illinois is in trouble...they gave their interim coach (who had a fairly good season for what happened there) a 2 year contract today. What the heck can you do for recruiting with only 2 years to build. Not too much I think. Maryland beat Rutgers today...and that is all I have to say about that. Minnesota, Indiana, Penn St. Purdue...like Illinois...they are going to make some teams look good...but one of them is going to beat Michigan next year.
