7 pointsWell i converted my short chute blower to a tall chute. I love the gears rather than the wire to turn the chute. Turns real nice.
-
7 pointsGot my D 180 all rewired and got it to hit a few times the other day. Went today and got new gas line and replaced it all and the vacuum line going to the fuel pump. After quite a few turn overs finely the fuel filter filled with gas and then it happened. IT FIRED UP, the mufflers are gone and the thing sounded like a airplane starting up. After about a minute or two the engine smoothed out and ran like a champ. I have to get a new battery for it. will a big lawn mower battery work or does it need a car battery? Now all i need is something to do with it. cant wait until garden time
-
5 pointsI've had this for a few years, finally got it running I have the original motor, guy I got it from said it smoked so he put the Tecumseh in it. I thought it was frozen but I went to move it and it turned over! went through the carb and fixed the leaky fuel tank, pulled it one time and it fired right up! It came with a deck, rear tiller, plow, and snowblower

5 pointsI spent some time in the garage getting my new 314 into winter mode. Added 50# cast iron outer wheel-weights and cast iron pipe flanges to the inside of the rear wheels for about 64#'s each wheel. A brand new battery and a 48" plow up front and she's done! My GT-1600 will get its winter dud's on next weekend.....then its just sit back and wait for the white stuff1 Mike..........
-
4 pointsWorks very nice. I will have to make a solid link for down pressure, but the floating slotted link should be OK for snow.
-
4 pointsGot my two grown children home picking on each other on the sofa arguing over what to watch on TV.Thanksgiving does'nt get any better for me.Hope everyone else's is as good.Happy Holidays to all who visit this great site.Bless us all and Luck,JAinVa

4 pointsFirst, have your wife find a tall chute on Craigslist. Then as your trying to avoid the bolts sticking out of the wheel weights, unbolt the four bolts holding on the original short chute. Bolt on the new one then take the original bar used to turn the chute and punch out the roll pin. Use a grinding wheel to grind down the end of the bar until it fits into the bar that turns the chute. Finally, find a right angle piece of steel/aluminum and bolt it to the tractor using one of the holes or bolts by the battery on the right side. That's it! Easy! Well have you seen the movie "Ben Hur"? Well anytime I see a John Deere in the neighborhood....
-
4 pointsLooks great Dave......now get back in the shed and cut off the all-thread stickin outa the rear wheel-weights. My shins are achin just thinking about what it'll feel like when you walk into one of em! Mike............

4 pointsNice find!! Don't forget to take the weed out of the end of the pipe before the cops see it
-
3 pointsDetails please. That picture is just a teaser. How did you do it?
-
3 pointsThat's great! >Battery....a lawn/garden tractor battery would be fine but buy the one with the most cranking amps. Mike......

3 pointsThe thrill of victory. Good job Mike, I bet you could find some attachments for it and entertain your self for days....... The neighbors already know the mufflers are shot
-
3 pointsNice looking herd, I use a chain on the lift and haven't found the need for down-pressure. Our driveway is paved and the snow is generally heavy and wet and seldom has any ice under it so it pushes off to the side well.
-
3 pointsBob, I second what everyone else said and prayers already coming your way for a very speedy recovery. Please keep us informed on your progress. I am very interested in your surgery because I have a very similar condition in my back that is very hard to live with. Best wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

2 pointsSo this explains why I don't have any wheelhorse plow stuff, kind of. I mean, it's always a good idea to have more wheelhorse stuff, but these should clear some snow just fine. From left to right: 99 1500 Silverado extended cab daily driver, 5.3L just rolled over 60k miles, put the new cutting edge on today, last resort plow rig this year 01 2500 HD Silverado, 6.0L, 9'2" Boss V plow, 16' swing wing rear plow, 10 cu. ft. Salt Dogg TGS06 spreader, under hood clutch driven hydraulic pump with electric switch controls 00 K3500 from down south, 5.7L, old 8' boss blade with a new cutting edge waiting to go on this week, custom front mount, 7'5" rear plow, belt driven fisher pump with in-cab spool valve to control blades, Super Z chains for when all traction's gone.

2 pointsBought annother briggs today, annother military one i think looking at the olive drab that's on it. Anyway here's some pics

2 pointsHas the price of loaders gone up ? I've had 10 on different GT's over the years Most I payed was $1200 for one on a 520 that came with 60 deck and single stage snowblower, cheapest was one on a Bolen's large frame for $200. I see loaders mostly over a grand upto wow who'd a thought price range. There is a Quickway in Kentucky complete for $750 that's about what I would think normal price would be. Maybe I'm just old
-
2 pointsI know it is too late, but just for fun....... C-195 My son Zach on his 500 special Night plowing with the C-120 Some of the Harrison Elementary Garden Tractor Club showing off the recently completed project, C-120.

2 pointsRecent big snow in Michigan - Unfortunately we are losing it already... But skiing twice already!!! My son on one of his clients' driveways...

2 pointsit real simple, the shoots bolt on to the blower housing with 4 bolts. you unbolt the short shoot base and the cable crank handle and bolt on the tall shoot base. but you need a donor blower or at least it helps to have a donor blower to get your parts from eric j

2 pointsHow did you cut the rubber? I would have thought that the UHMW would have been much longer wearing. I've only gravel so I don't care about marks but I do hate ripping out stones and the rubber might help with that, but then I need to metal to scrape. Ahh! I need more WHs and more blades! Oh! I already got more WHs and at least 2 blades. So... How did you like the rubber?
-
2 pointsNice pair of Toro Wheel Horses. I would be lost without my 48 inch blade. I've been gonna make a down pressure link for mine for eighteen years. Maybe next year.............
-
2 pointsdoug at this time of the year ( cool ) it would not hurt to run without the seal. i do stock them. boomers_influence@yahoo.com 651 437 2826 M-F 10-7 S-S 12-6 cent time. thank you. boomer ( the used onan engine parts guy, also NOS and new )
-
2 pointsGot the new tires mounted and installed a new add-on to the snow blower. It's a electric actuator to control the tilt of the chute. Nice addition to the hydraulic rotation.

2 pointsWell I think anyone would need that surgery if they kept doing backflips on tractors.... Thinking of you and a speedy recovery.
-
2 pointsgood luck and speedy recovery Bob if there's anything Jo and I can do for you just give us a ring Brian & Jo
-
2 pointsIt may be a while, at present I am devoting most of my time to building cabinets for our utility room. When we cleared the property for our new house I harvested several large White Oaks and sent them to the saw mill and am making use of them now. I should take a few pictures and start a thread on it. The 953 will be next.
-
2 pointsSorry Tank....another RS member already claimed the horse, but We can make room at the table for all.
-
2 pointsHmm...shows how old I am. I thought those "pipes" were foot rests.
-
2 pointsI would be willing to bet ya that if the Ponds didn't copy International Harvester on their paint choice of red and they chose Teal instead we would all love it, and of course we wouldn't know the difference... In the pics Old Iron posted I think it looks better all Teal with white rims only... I bet ya my Hot Rod Suburban would look pretty Bad to the Bone in Teal with some chrome rims....
-
2 pointsGreat pics guys. I don't mind the 1 ft. plus snow storms at all, in fact I enjoy them. Its all the little 3 inch and under storms I can't stand. I bet Craig would probably agree... Craig being a heavy equipment operator I bet he likes it when he gets to give the equipment a little work out. At least I know I did...

2 pointsWelding like a pro now. I`m not much with a welder but I`m good with a grinder. Just takes a little longer.

2 pointsI think we have all the pictures picked for this year's calendar. Unless the Mods lock the thread, you can still post your pictures...just know that they will not be in this year's PDF. Thanks to all that participated, the pictures are outstanding. Look for Squonk to start an order thread if you want to get a professional calendar.
