I got the rear weight box from Uncle Bo last week for the 520 with two stage blower. I had to mount up a few brackets to tie it back to the tractor. I figured why not take a pic. About a month ago Ken B and I were at the local flea market and I picked up this really clean old Ariens blower. Runs mint. Last weekend at the flea I found a set of chains I put on today. So.... here is my crew. There is an outside chance I may mount a blade on something....

Picked up a 1989 416-8 from my local scrap yard earlier this week for $100. Mower deck is shot (I'm looking for optional replacements). I brought it home, hooked up the battery charger, gave it a shot of ether and it fired up. So far everything including the lights all seem functional. It appears this tractor wasn't used much over the past 25 years; however, it doesn't appear to have been well maintained either. Other than one completely shot rear tire, rusty mower deck, and filters, oil, etc I'm into it pretty cheap so far.

Nothing crazy. Picked up a 312H cheap 2 weeks ago. A little paint, a few new parts, and new fluids. I think it came out pretty good. Ordering new decals next week and some new ags for the rears will finish it off nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Kwik Way FEL I picked up at Steve Myers Service in Cridersville, OH recently. I was asking a friend Nick (WH857) about a project loader I had seen on Clist that was missing all the hydraulics. He mentioned that they had this Kwik Way in at the dealership. I made arrangements to go after ASAP! This will be going on a 310-8 speed with a mix of 520H parts....unless I can find a reasonably priced 520H locally. Will update the thread with more pics once I start throwing it together tomorrow.

Picking up a new horse today, so awesome with the duallies! Wife says that's enough tractors. Been getting into this for about a month and have 5 Horses already, very addicting, but awesome. If America built things like this today, we would be in better shape.

Long time lurker here,been visiting for a couple of years now,but only joined few months ago,originally from UK,but lived here in Spain for a few years owing to the climate being much better for my swmbo,as she has a serious heart condition, work my wh extremely hard but it copes well,already worn out a Westwood and a 16/42 copy of a wh of which the name escapes me at the moment,doh Am so jealous of you all just going to a store and buying parts! 2005 Classic GT

Here's the first Wheel Horse I restored (finished earlier this year), a 1968 "500" Special.

Got myself a RS birtday present...this 520H in northern IL today. The guy had it listed in for sale here so finally got the chance to go see him and make an offer. Over all its in real good shape. 670 hrs on the 220 Onan. Kinda dirty but looks like it will clean up nice. Came with a 48inch deck, blower, tiller, peco bagger vac with a 5 hp Briggs and a cute little generator which the PO never used. All I decent shape as well cept for the Briggs needs a new head gasket. Will get some more pics in the tomorrow in as it was dark out when I got home. I'll be pumping you guys for a lot of info on 520's in general and Onan's as this is my first. Anybody got any info on this little guy I'm all ears...the brackets are not home made and look like they go with it and attach to the front somehow. Didn't have time to dick with it yet. Thinking it might be handy out in the deer woods building stands.

$10 or $100, you not only got a bargain but you save another Wheel Horse's life! Because of you 50 years from now it will still be around! Where you going to buy that kind of power and capability for that kind of money? And yet they flock to the big box stores everyday...

We need pictures of your machine with the tries.. There are a lot of people using ATV type tires on garden tractors. Some say they get better traction. I put 25x 9.50x 12 Carlisle All Trail II on my 312-8. Mine have done every thing I need. [/U

Ok so I got the foot pedals, linkage, and steering wheel and shaft installed this morning. I'll be doing paint touch up this afternoon.

As is always the case with you Ken, when you get your hands on something it always comes out the other side better than it was. And you don't rely on someone else to do it for you. You do it yourself if you can. Hat's off to another fine clean up on aisle 4. You do nice work.

Just found this thread, (thanks @CasualObserver, Im not on here for more than 5 min a day and sometimes not on here all week). Time has been an issue for me lately, (hence not being on here) I have way too many things going on and the race for good weather is running out. Time has passed me by and unfortunately the calendar and the forum are a distant third or fourth to my priorities right now. Haven't worked on or played with the tractors for at least 6 months other than to move some of them to get to some building materials or whatever other junk in my shop. Completely forgot about the calendar and the timeline needed is getting very short. It could be done very quickly, but i just can't put the time in right now. I could still possibly do one, but it would have to wait a good month, even then i can't promise anything. Im sorry if i have disappointed some of you guys with my lack of attention, but family and home priorities have the biggest slice of my pie right now. It would be a shame not to have a calendar this next year, but right now it can't be me.......

Great bit of history and photos. Being a one profession type in the Auto Body trade since age of 16 I still like the older history . The recent threads are interesting . My 845 sat out in New England weather for 50 years so needed a fresh look . I will rub some grit on the paint and age it a bit . Quahog

Good save, That 16 HP Onan is a strong worker. Any idea what caused the problem in the first place or what was wrong with the motorcycle? a spade terminal on the amp meter worked loose, in addition, there were two fuses on the positive side of the meter. One was burnt out. The motorcycl is a beast to start when its cold out, its a 6-cylinder.

I can imagine how much time, and coordinated effort it traditionally has taken to produce the calender every year. In my own small way, I'm just tryin' to help my brothers out.

I'll let some air out of the back tires today,, I wasn't sure on the pressure,, I've got new ones coming for the front,, l am going to need a new driven pulley at the rear axle, the half moon key must have broke and the pulley wobbles in the shaft pretty bad. I'm not sure about putting an original engine in it, I've wanted a nice tractor for a while and I'd like to use this one , I don't have much to mow but I live next door to a church and thought I might volunteer to do some of their yard work with it,, I guess i'll do some studying on good ideas for an engine upgrade verses finding an original! by the way, I have a hood on the way, bought it in EBay and a friend lined up to do the paint work once I get it all stripped down!

Key word : factory, aka fast paced work, on down the line, spray and push out the door. After all, they are tractors, meant to be abused, scratched, dented, and worked!

Great info here...but coming out of the factory our horses paint jobs were not "show" quality.

I found this tune up kit not to far from me for 25$ will it work for my 22hp kohler ch22 it says its for a ch23
