Well here are a few picks of the tractor. I guess the air filter is shot = look at fingers. the rest may be I can fix over the winter. The only thing is about the carb lot of water and rust in tank. Grandson Logan got to drive his Wheel Horse this weekend.

My son brought home the new horse today, It's areal beauty everything is powder coated but the hood . Can't wait till the snow comes and see what this little horse can do . For a extra $100 he through in two hoods,59 trans,58 trans parts minus cast center,seat,steering wheel, rims tires,and a bunch of small parts . They'll come in handy for my other RJ. I would like to thank Chris for passing it on after 40 years of ownership . I know it was hard to let it go, but I promise to take good care for her.

Picked up a pair of mounted used Ag tires at an auction yesterday. They are Carlisle Super lugs 23 10.50x12 mounted on 8.5" rims. Put them on my 310-8 (she is my pulling tractor...that is trailers and other stuff not competition). She had Deestone Super extra grip 23 10.50x12 on WH 7.5" rims. Look at the difference. Wish I knew where the 8.5" rims came from as the backset is perfect for WHs... By the way Bob Maynards Studs and lug nut set made swap a breeze

The 800cc polaris atv and its 60" blade is down and the backhoe isnt here so this was the next best thing! I have a new love for this lil guy!

I've got beer, maybe that is what is dragging me down. On the lighter side...I would rather be on the bottom with beer then I would trying to figure out what is going on with Ohio St., Michigan St., Barfowa, ETC.

The one thingy is a counterweight of a simplicity . He said when he was a kid he had his friends set on the hood to keep the front tires on the ground . The other thingy is the mount for the snowplow , just remove two pins and it comes right off. He showed me the left side cover pointed at the brake assembly said it was different ( I ? him too ). Yeah I like those weights too . Even the wife thought it was cool !

A few years ago my wife called from the gas station saying her car won't start. It ran fine until she stopped for gas. I told her to make sure it was in Park then try again. A few minutes later she pulled into the driveway. Sounds similar, likely a safety switch not satisfied for some reason. PTO, neutral etc. Cleat

Could be several causes for the problem, need to make sure all of your connections are tight and corrosion free, this includes all grounds, they are electrical connections too.. To see if the solenoid is bad just take a jumper wire from your battery positive terminal to the small terminal on the solenoid, if it activates it is good. Let us know what you find.

I would check the safety switches clutch and pto and so on

I just mow mine up in place until they are tiny pieces. This year, I hope to compost them in a pile. I have a giant pile of mulch turning into dirt along the street where they filled my ditch in. By spring, I hope it has already turned to dirt, but it may take 2 years, it is about 16" deep.

I'm hoping that someone may be able to point me in the right direction here. I recently restored a Raider 12 and ran it around the garden briefly before taking it to bits and then out to France where I put it back together again. That was this time last year and I cut about half an acre of brambles and bracken. It was then used again in March and June with no problems, but recently having used it again, it would not start after a run. The starter was not turning and no click from the solenoid, but it started first go with jump leads onto the car and then stopped as soon as they were removed. I charged the battery which is only a year old and it worked fine. I guess it's not charging and that I have just been running it from the battery all the time. What I have remembered from when I stripped the machine down was that there was a question about this, but when it all went back together and ran ok I forgot all about it. I did measure the resistance across the alternator coils at the time and there was continuity but I can't remember the resistance reading. When the engine is running at idle speed the ammeter oscillates quickly from positive to negative but this stops when the engine revs are increased and settles down to a small discharge current, about the thickness of the needle. Any suggestions what this could be? The problem I have is that I am not going back to France for a few months and would like to take the necessary parts over to fix it. Also I have just bought a tiller to go on the back and will need some advice on the lift mechanism, but will put this as a separate post. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Andrew

The Western North Carolina Ag. Center is the venue for the best fall show in the region, I snapped a few shots as I drove around, enjoy. My old "Survivor" 953 was my trustee steed of choice for the day, brought the fancy trailer too. Case, Copar Panzer and Colts were enjoying the sunshine. This one was "Green with Envy" when it saw a Wheel horse coming up. This old Sears was a bit hard to get a good shot of due to the sun, but it was rustier than mine so I figured I better include it. How about a GE Electric, don't see one of them every day. Had a few good looking Allis Chalmers too. This JD with matching honey wagon was too cool, the belt pulley even worked! Had a few other RED tractors too. This nice looking RJ was looking for a new home. This nice Suburban was at the same vendor's site. This freshly painted GT-14 was abandoned in the fleas, couldn't find the owner to get price info. How about a full race Ford 8N? Here is a horse with an attitude, love it! Great Gibson. Freshly built Speedex This Bantam hardly ever stopped moving, the boy driving it was about 9 or 10 and proud as could be. Couple of Panzer Projects. This line up of Cub Originals were all race ready. They were worth a second look. How about a garden tractor powered run about. Sweet little 605, very well done. Love this little hay baler This fellow seems to have more sponsors than a NASCAR racer. Was back on leaf pick up duty again today and hopefully got a video of the sweeper in action. Beautiful fall day in mid Michigan.My neighbor came over and helped me pick some up with his sweeper.Yup he seen mine and said he had to have one. Found one at a golf course auction and picked it up.We picked up 15 loads in about 3 1/2 hours. I had the wife out with the blower going around the trees and other places that the sweeper can't get into. P.S. don't pay attention to the color of his tractor. 2015-10-25_19.19.44.mp4

Yep. My 95 520H has done that to me a hundred times in the last eighteen years. Thankfully my dash lights have always indicated to me what was wrong. Usually the motion lever or pto or seat safety switches. For me it has always been operator error and the indicator light on dash has enabled my smaller than average brain to figure out what to move....

@Illinilefttackle (Al) ...Illinois...the front 4 is outstanding...nobody is going to run through Illinois this year. So, what do they need...they are close to being a great team defensively...they are driving me crazy this year trying to pick them. I still think they will make a bowl game. What do you think??

You will not regret replacing the new chain and idlers. Cheap insurance. I hate working on tractors and snow blowers in January with 16 inches of snow on the ground, 10 degrees and 30 knot wind. Anything I can do to prevent that is well worth the effort. Kurt

I replaced the chain and the two idler sprockets today. Everything else seemed fine, no bearing play, etc. One of the idlers had a minor amount of play, probably would have been fine, but I replaced it since I was in there anyway. In the spring, I'll strip and paint

got for 300.00, was told that the original owner couldn't afford the mower deck with the horse, so he got the blueprints from the WH dealer and built it himself out of stainless steel. What i'm interested in is what model it should be. I thought 655 had a square hood. Bruce

If you were to buy a WH clevis hitch and can get the slot hitch pin to come out of the trans, just replace the hitch. Also weigh up the wheels front and rear. This is the hitch on my 1267

Sorry, but I beg to differ. I have a 4000 watt 8hp briggs generator, and there's really nothing I can't run with it. I even open up the garage door with it. My furnace, hot water, and stove are all gas, and require little if any energy, exept the circulator pumps on the furnace. The light in the house are cfl, and draw 14 watts each. The rest are dimmable. It is possible, as I have done it. :thumbs: if you are selective in what you use it for and dont overload it you will be fine

The machine sure saves the wife and I a lot of time and hard azz work.The trac vac I used to have was a nice machine but just too small for my yard and we still had to pick up sticks before we could trac vac.One season the wife picked up 125 loads with it. I can now pick up about 35/40 loads but that includes sticks,limbs,acorns and squirrels if they get in the way. Bad part is the wife won't run it.LOL I miss burning leaves. Growing up, we burned them every year. Now we're not permitted....bleepin' government. Miss the smoke, smell, sound. One caution though...never try to light a pile of wet leaves with a coffee can of gasoline. It just doesn't work too well and afterwards, you have to rake the area again! WOOF! Your eyebrows do grow back though.

Sometimes the insulator is stuck to the back of the module when you pull the module off and you may not see it. I believe the insulator is on there to dissipate heat build-up in the module and not to stop current. I couldn't say why one would not be on those and the module may not last long without one. I have replaced several modules and I always make sure it has a good insulator before I reassemble the timing cover. Cheap insurance! Pinning this is a very good idea since there are many owners who have never dealt with these engines. Onan's have an undeserved reputation for being unreliable and mysterious. That is far from the truth and if you own one you definitely need the service manual in your hands. These engines brought Wheel Horse from the 1950's into the 1980's in terms of power and reliability.
