This has been a long time coming, but I think with snow season close...I will be loving this new driveway. I got to use the horses a little...like getting all the plants off the concrete, getting out the edging, and taking up the patio blocks. Time to rip it all up. Freddie Time for gravel. They let me try spreading with the horse when they took a break. It would have taken a lot longer. They start them out young. We had home made Tamales for lunch one day. They were fantastic. :) Time for the concrete. Finished and landscaped Put the patio back in and start unloading all the plants. Thanks for looking...19 yards of concrete. I can't wait to move snow off of it this year. We probably will not get any.

Here ya go. This is the first one of this style I've done. I may order another decal and do it again but I know you wanted to see it. The bottom of the dash is straight. I butted it up against a straight edge so I could do the same with the decal which would help getting it on square. Working from the bottom up with a plastic card I made sure it was tucked in to the horizontal center area. Once it was on I saw that it was a bit oversize and trimming was required on the top and sides. Doing it again I would overlap the bottom just a little and trim all the way around. That would drop the 'Depress clutch when starting' down and get it away from the generator light plug as well as lowering the wording so it would center on the ridge better. I'm thinking it may have been made a bit large and intended to be trimmed. Maybe Terry will chime in here.

There are SO many reasons this time of year is special. It's the time to transition from Summer Wheel Horses to Winter Duty. It is also the time when 2 major forum events happened. November 14, 2006 - RedSquare was started by whchris on a free service called Forumer, anyone remember whforum.15.forumer.com October 31, 2011 - We abruptly moved from Forumer to our current home. I often go back and look at the posts from those times and while RedSquare is so different today then it was then, there are STILL many of the same people here who helped make this what it is today. So at this important time of the year, as you get your machines ready for the new season, Thank You for being a member of RedSquare, it's been a heck of a ride and still going!

Jim, I checked the 5060 in my 1267. The axles have about 1/4" in and out movement. If you think you can't use that trans, bring it back and I'll refund all your money and you can keep the mule drive for your trouble.

Yes he was about 60 but not quite. He had a pic of his 1967 or 68 Camaro as his face pic on this site. It was a yellow Camaro. Way too young! Bummer! He was a good mechanic and good at wiring things, like WH's!

no one else has done it to my knowledge. So I am making a 3d wheelhorse in blender 3d. I just started blocking it out from a 2d image off of google and looking at my 1967 if any other artists out there would like to help, there are lots of things that could be done I am not really a good 3d artist. I mostly just do it so I can visualize a project before I do it.

I have the 1967 Lawn Ranger with the snowblower all greased and ready for action. The 1961 Wheel Horse 701 with hydraulic pump is lifting the 1962 BD-4262 Snowplow! First time using the 701 and the Lawn Ranger is already a tested winter warrior.

Haven't got this picture posting down yet . Pics got out of order. I have 2 702's should be able to make a super nice 702 still missing gen flywheel cover, fuel pump stock coil . I have enough tin for one and it's all really strait. Couldn't make it to the rest of the RJ . I know the last one not the right color but if I could have one tractor it would be an AC D21. Couldn't get around my sons truck with my wheelchair . Here's the hoods. My cousin had a pic of the RJ from the add in which we bought it from. He's most likely a member , he had at least 25 tractors most of them early round hoods.

I've been here since November 14, 2006 when Chris (whchris) called me and asked me to join his fledgling website. Karl is right when he says its been a heck of a ride! We have weathered a few snags like almost loosing the whole site, been threatened legal action by a few disgruntled past members, (I think one even informed one of our Moderators that they were gonna get an azz-kicking!). But all of us that run the site have followed a strict set of rules that we established and revisit from time to time and I think we have a very tightly run forum that anyone of any age or gender can feel comfortable visiting and participating in. This place is a great success!! Mike...........

Look up filled up the bed of the El Camino yesterday. Picked it up from Chip 61 a C120A, 1974 we think, will provide serial and model number later. Not a beauty queen but you can always put lip stick on a pig. Rebuilt engine , hydro works great , no leaks and no creep. I st hydro so my right foot will need to be retrained. Look for Redneck engineering in the future. I hope I did not load the pictures twice

I got started tonight on getting the frame cleaned up and worked on getting the rear hubs off the axle , WOW did those hubs fight me coming off , but I won , the hard part of cleaning the frame now starts with a good power wash and then sand blast the inside of the frame and weld up all the holes that I wont be using when I start putting it back together , looked at the front axle mounting pin and its about all worn out , not sure what I am going to do there yet but I know I need to do something with it as it is pretty loose , thinking machine out the holes and install bearing but that will come later

Any Dino prints in the crete? I,m going to be 57 in a few months and have never had the luxury of a concrete or blacktop drivways. Closest I'll come is when they make my concrete vault!

Looks good! Now you made me hungry for Mexican food. El Savadorian food that we have here is good - but not the same. I'd rather a tamale than a popusa. Is watching concrete dry as satisfying as paint? It takes longer I'm sure.

I have both of them.... I take them out to display every now and then. Would love to be able to find or build some sort of small implement (like a mini belt conveyor/hay elevator) for demonstration. As for a price when you find them??.... Going to be up to you and the seller. I've seen the asking price in the $150-250 range on either of them (on the rare occasion that one comes up for sale)

Will guess your ignition switch has failed in the start position. If you have an external round ignition coil next to the carburetor you have battery ignition. Use a voltmeter or 12 volt test light on the coil (+) terminal. Turn the key to the run position and you should have battery voltage. Now turn it to the start position and you should still have battery voltage powering the coil. Will bet you don't. These switches all look the same. If you have battery ignition you need a switch with one terminal identified with the letter I (eye). If you don't have the round coil post the numbers off the engine data decal so we know what you have. Garry

If there was something wrong with those axles sliding, it "would only be"...if you could pull them all the way out. The 10 pinion limited slip has a little extra room for the axles to move. If you can't pull them out, they are OK.

Hey Jim...if you want to go drink with that tractor guy that lives down there. I think I have a couple of boxes of tile and some grout left over from a bathroom job I did some time ago. Get a little Rock & Rye in her and she will love the tile and the tractor...and she will sleep all the way home.

Might have figured you jokers to dig this out of the cellar....goes like this... Me: Honey been thinkin about a snowblower for the driveway this year, sell the plow off the black truck..tired of ripping the lawn up...less raking for you in the spring ya know Her: I suppose we gotta go to Minnesota again for this tractor? Me: Ahh ..no...Illinois Her: I suppose you just wanna go drink with that tractor guy that lives down there.....What about my bathroom remodel? Me: No this one is in Woodstock, and the tractor guy down there is in recovery, somethin about bad rye, poor fella... nice 520H .....tiller with it too for the aspargus patch & deer food plot Her: What about my bathroom? Me: Only a 42 inch blower tho but there's a guy close that has a 48" two stage that I could fit up ... only askin 300 but i think I can talk him down Her: How much for the tractor...there goes my bathroom about this time her face goes like this.... Me: Well he's only askin 2200 for the tractor. But I think I can talk him down a couple of hundred and it comes with a real nice bagger that we don't need and I know I can resell for at least $500, the blower I can sell for a couple of hundred and the plow off the black truck is worth at least 1000. That brings the price of the tractor with the 2 stage down to only about 500 bucks. Pretty good deal for this size of tractor!! Plenty of money left over for the bathroom. I'm sure there will be nice fall colors on the way down and prolly good restaurants. Her: (she gets her caclulator out to check my math which of course is way off since i didn't have my shoes off... %$*&# phones with calculators on them...whose stupid idea was that) What about your shoulder surgery next month, how you gonna work on the bathroom one handed?? Me: I will go pee outside alot Her: Yah Right Me: Well I can't plow with a bum shoulder so who is gonna clear the driveway? And you don't know how to plow but I can show you how to run the blower. I can prolly run the tractor with a bum shoulder as well. Her: The neighbors will come and help. What about my bathroom?? Me: You know he works for the railroad and is never home...besides I don't want your new 12000 dollar blacktop to get all chewed up from a sno plow Her: We have the blower from my dad I can use. Me: Thats only a cheap piece of murray 26 inch... it would take you forever besides ther it no lights on it and you get home after dark. It will break and I won't be able to wrench on it with a bum shoulder. Her: I will wait till it gets light out. Me: I'll look around for a cab for it so you can do it in comfort. Her: The heater in the black truck works. Me: Its a 95 and may break too Her: What year is the tractor? Me: Ahhh Hummm that don't matter these things are built and it's got low hours (heres wher I think I'm losing) Her: What about my bathroom? Me: Well ok on the way to look at tractors we'll stop and look for tile and vanities I promise..her face kinda goes like this Her: We'll see I ain't got the tractor home yet but it's lookin better than 15 minutes agohttp://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/59320-1991-toro-520h-48-deck-42-thrower-tiller/

Thanks guys the seat came out good but I still have more to do on the rims. It's so humid here in mid GA that I had to protect them from rusting again till I could get more play time. I will blast and finish repairs one at a time.

Yep, well mostly. New Holland contracted with Toro to buy blue versions of their 518xi (GT18), 520lxi (GT20), 520xi (GT20A), and 522xi (GT22/GT22A, not sure what the differences there were) If you check out tractor data for those models, it will say "Manufacturer: Toro" I am assuming toro probably built them and painted them and just sold them directly like that. The models and accessories are identical except for the paint and stickers... So if you can find New Hollands cheaper, then you have a Horse of a Different Color!

The biggest issue is weight. Too much weight and the tractor drives out from under the weight and tips over backward. If the boad is light and has little tongue weight I wouldn't worry about it. My flatbed had a bunch of tongue weight and the tractor wanted to try to to drive out from under the trailer (tried to flip backwards). As far as hitch location, I treated my WH like the big tractors. All the strongest parts are on the back. The front hitch is only held on by three 3/8" carriage bolts. While you're right, I would think WH put the hitch where most of the towable accessories for it would be level. The cart and other towables didn't have a lot of ground clearance. For the other posters: Ideally, you want the hitch point below the axle center line. The reason for this is when you pull on the drawbar the force is trying to rotate the tractor around the axle (like an L shaped lever where the axle is where the sides meet). If the drawbar is below the axle the front will try to rotate down and the tractor is stable. If the drawbar is above the axle the front will try to rotate up and the tractor will try to flip over backwards.

It depends on what part of the country you are in i suppose. New hollands are impossible to find around here, but I do see a few XI's pop up on CL! I am assuming you were joking, right? New Holland bought the tractors from Toro... I think I missed an inside joke here I never knew that TORO made the tractors and New Holland bought them and painted them blue? Correct me if I'm wrong. dave

This Kohler service manual covers the starter/generator http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/3450-engine-kohler-k-91-k141-k161-k181-k241-k301-k321-sm-1972-hrpdf/ Get a sheet of brown crocus cloth to polish the armature. It is similar to emery cloth and won't contaminate the commutator bars. Garry

I would take it apart first. If the armature is cooked or beat up no sense in putting parts in it. find another one.

It's almost appropriate that the K need rings. Throttle-up gives a nice purplish hue out the stack. Pics? - still looks like the devil but I have the Georgia winter to bring her back to new. Straightening that hood will be a chore. Stay tuned y'all.

I saw the Ranger under a porch this spring. I went to visit an old Wheel Horse collector and he showed me his horses. He had 7 there at his house and a few someplace else. Well, he passed away this summer and his son asked me if there was anything I wanted. I told him about the little one under the porch. We settled on a price of $150. It's not NOS .... probably looks that way because everything above the frame is plastic. (grille, hood, console and rear fenders) No rust on any of those parts! Some of the frame and footrests have been repainted. And the motor is not original. I had to put points in the motor and clean and adjust the carb. The steering needed tightened up. Clutch and brake did not work. But it's all getting better. Ummmm ..... plow and chains??? I could get done in ½ the time! There is a mowing deck for the Ranger ....... Grandson mowing ...... possibly. But dragging the wagon around would be more fun.

That table is the best thing I have built in a while , just need to find the time to go get a sheet of 1/2" plywood so the top is one piece , all I had at the time was the two pieces so I used them , as far as the holes I really like bushing or bearing , if I weld it up I will still have medal to medal that's just going to wear out again , I think I can do it so you wont see that there is a bushing in there to keep it looking stock

Steve that looks pretty nice. So nice you may want to try these and give us a report of how they handle the good old lake effect snow there in Chicagoland. After working that old driveway for so long, is your blade level enough to work on that new flat surface?

@ $2500 you know it's a scam. The loader is worth that. lol That's a $10K+ package. I've been unloading quite a few things last month or so from tractor parts to dirt bikes. For every legit buyer, I got at least 2 scams. Will never include my text number in ads again either. Twice as many junk texts as emails.

This year has been one of the toughest years of my life with the passing of my dear ole Mum ,Redsquare has been a sanctuary where I can visit and interact with a few mates that I have grown to be a big part of my every day life & sometimes I have probably said more to people on Redsquare in one day than I have spoken my wife . Although I haven't been as active on here as I have in recent months due to my mothers passing ,I still try to make my daily visits to read up on what you guys are up to . I hope to be a bit more active soon when things start to settle down here at home. dunno what I would do if anything happened to Redsquare , great bunch of guys.

Thank you for taking the bull by the horns and rescuing the forum from disaster. As you said, the new forum is different in so many ways, but I still make it a part of my day. I have been around here since 2009, so I consider myself one of the survivors. We lost many members who for one reason or another never came back. They are missed, but so many new members continue to make this a fun place to hang out. As you may or may not know, I am undergoing major back surgery at the end of November, and the healing and recovery time is a long one. If I didn't have this forum to look forward to, I might just find myself going crazy. So once again,
