I got my Wheel Horse No Name 10 a cpl. months ago. It came with 62 lb. home made wheel weights. I took them off, cleaned all the rust, painted them and made some decals. I used 1/8" pinstripe tape and ran a pinstripe around the outside then clear-coated them. Not too bad.

Finally got my wheel weights cleaned up and painted. Thought I'd make them look a little nicer by making the WH logo with a thin red pinstripe around the outside. Turned out good, huh?

Thank you Michael Conley!!!! A great video to capture the event again! I think I am almost fully rested from the event. Wow what an event it was.....I tried to plow, I ran a disc, I met some folks all the way from California that were part of a research and development group (ask me about it sometime, you won't believe it!), talked to so many old friends and missed a bunch too! It was cold and chilly, but hey that is what we are know for!!! The machines were awesome, the plowing was excellent, and the friendships were the best part of the day. I am happy to report that we raised $1230 for St. Baldrick's in memory of the late Max Nunn. Thank you to everyone near and far that donated goods and bought a bunch of tickets. Thank you to Paul and Sharon for bringing Max's tractor to the event to help spread awareness about this awful disease. We will continue to push on in memory of Max......there will be a cure! My family thanks all of you for being such great guests and treating the property, and our neighbors, with the utmost respect. You are all a joy to be around. I became sidetracked numerous times and never did get a count of how many machines showed up, but it was a bunch! Thanks for bringing your machines to show.....it wouldn't be a show without all of you! October 2nd 2016 will be our next event.....we are hoping that you will be able to join us!

Found this at a yard sale last Saturday. '79 C121 It has a good 42" deck. She runs but she's a smoker and it's complete. Seat is roached. It's pretty much all original, unmolested with the exception of someone has bypassed the ignition switch with a push button for some reason. Transmission seems to be in good working order. I'm not real familiar with the Hydrostat trans. My other WHs are manual trans, so I have a question. There is a lever to engage/disengage the trans. Is this supposed to put it in neutral so you can roll the tractor?

Just got back from Scott's Meet and Greet last weekend with a couple of side trips on the way home. Indianapolis Motor Speedway Tour and of course Maker's Mark distillery tour, any time I'm in Kentucky, This was my first real Wheel Horse show and it was amazing! Many beautiful tractors. Scott and his family put on a great event. Met a lot of Red Square members and now can put some faces with some name. Everyone I met was very friendly and hospitable. Just what I expected. It was a little cold but even a wimpy Florida guy didn't think it was that bad. Still have my keister, Racing Bob. Did some trading with Jake with a 400 burb in some disarray for some 3 piece trans work. Jake and his dad, great people. If I ever do grow up I want to be like Jake. For a while it looked like I was going to be the one who came the furthest distance, but then I noticed some ladies who looked a bit out of place for a Wheel Horse tractor meet. I finally asked one of them where they were from and she said they had just flown in from California but were originally from China. Very impressive. Didn't sell my 520H wheel set or my steering wheel, nobody seemed too interested. That's when I noticed the truck bed looked empty so I bought another 400 burb with snow blade and a tub cart. Whats a guy gonna do. If we ever get a foot or more of snow in Northwest Florida, I'm set. Once, again I want to thank Scott and his family for putting this outstanding meet together, and I may be back next year! Who knows there may be someone from Australia next year since this thing has gone global! -Chris in Florida. Here are the pictures of the new burb.

I must have gotten aggravated or had extra time somehow but I spent a ton of it on researching fuel system cleaners. I came away thinking that Techron was the best. It is and has been what I use in all road vehicles. I still use SeaFoam and I swear it has helped but when I researched and downloaded the MSDS I was wondering why it cost so much. I blended a version of it and have used it as well. Hard to tell. Sometimes nothing will help outside of some tools, time and parts.

I would definitely replace the seal. I don't see the stop leak standing a chance. I don't like the stuff but I guess it does work on stationary seals sometimes but not on a one that's trying to seal to a spinning axle. added 10/08/15: Folks that came in late on this thread are gonna wonder why I mentioned stop leak. I could totally change this post or delete it but I'd rather leave them scratching their heads .....

It is obvious that you understand the laws of physics, having the front of the frame strapped down prior to adding the weight of the transaxle. very nice work

If we in the hobby had to justify our projects with "needs", there would be a glut of tractors on classifieds:-) I would love to see you see this to closure. And My vote is to re-do the C161.

You know I did...just to keep warm. Excellent videos Bob...you really get a different prospective from the air and a great feel for the show. You really captured the faces of the people there also. Bob, where are those group shots that MJ took???

Back on dry land after last week's cruise. The Farm-Ette was made by Tom Moore Tractor in Mantua, OH. The frame would be yellow with red wheels. The Clinton engine would be their blue-grey. It would be from the late 1940's to 1950's. By 1960 they were only producing ride-on tractors that were red with white wheels. I may need to re-think the Bee Hind collection after my ankle exploit.

You didn't realize the cold, 50 degrees, not June weather by any means. There was too much action , equipment , tractors and friends to see and meet.

@WNYPCRepair, The torque settings are different because the old bolts will have been stretched. I had to get all my parts from America and the postal and import charges to the UK are almost as much as the part purchase price, so returning isn't really an option. A piston is going to cost over £50 with the postage. If I take what the tractor cost, which I bought because I wanted the engine, and then add what I have payed out so far, it's getting to the point where I wonder if it is worth going forward. I still have my original 10hp motor which I have re fitted to my refreshed WH. And to add to my dilemma I have lost the use of the work shop at work, which had the back up of the mechanics on hand, and some of the specialist tools. What to do

Downloaded a light meter app for the phone. First pic is two 12w LED bulbs (1000 Lux, 110W replacement, each) at 37 lux. Remember they are 11 feet or so in the air. Second pic is with the added fluorescent strip, 4 T5HO bulbs at 295 lux. So, 8 times the amount of light?

Flux is ideal for my use because I don't have to lug around a tank which in my case makes me tolerate the downsides of flux. Fluxed wire is also better in the wind but that's all the advantages I can think of. Messy cleanup! Harder to see. For stationary use be sure to go shielded gas!

They can weld! I picked mine up at a yard sale for $35 and I'm quite pleased with it. Several have said to use Lincoln wire and not HF's so perhaps some do better it than others! I do use Lincoln wire! I played around with it a bit more the other day. I had been using the chart inside the lid for wire speed. Once I cut it wat down, it did work much better, but I would still occasionally lose the arc. Packed it up today, going to return it tomorrow and grab the Lincoln. You should have no trouble finding a better welder, but I wouldn't want folks who could afford a HF but not a Big Brand Name to do without. Practice is needed with any of them. The worst welds I've ever seen by far were made by a dear friend. I told him if he ever needed anything welded to let me know! And I did do some welding for him but then he bought a Lincoln MIG and while he's still no welder he is much improved! Man he was a lousy stick welder! But a good machine helped him... I think I should have kept the HF to work on thin material, LOL I practiced a few minutes today and on thin stuff it was burning through. Need some thinner wire I think, and I also have to get gas, I think flux core must burn hotter.

I don't really know why but I have never been a real believer of fuel or and other kind of engine additives. Maybe because I am hip to the manufacturer's marketing hype. It's kinda like the couple of times I tried radiator stop leak.... I shoulda just pulled it and fixed it right. In the HVAC world they have all kinds of additives they hype up to get me to try and sell to my customers. ...never bought any of their bs. I mean how can stuff in a can be a substitute for parts and wrenches for tired mechanicals? Just my

No. Under the drivers rear fender there is something called a tow valve. It is a small peg that sticks out toward the front if the tractor. It is either a square it will be slotted for a standard straight blade screwdriver. Probably about 3/8" and maybe sticks out about an inch. The neutral position is simply a stand still position while the tractor is in use or parked. I believe you turn the tow valve counterclockwise about a half a turn to push or tow and clockwise or closed when operating. Make sure it is closed when you operate it. And make sure it's open when you push or tow

If you had a K301, I would say abort. But a K341 is certainly worth a piston and rings. No doubt about it. That is impact damage. Nothing you did.

Just a thought you may want to consider Jay. I have used multiple lift assist spring on my manual lift blower (before I got the 520H) . I made the springs from old scrap garage door springs, and with a turnbuckle was able to totally tare out the weight of my blower. By tuning the spring tension with the turnbuckle. I was able float the blower several inches above ground level and as it entered the snow, the additional snow weight pulled it down. It took maybe a 10lb pull to raise it to max height and 1-2 lbs push to hold it down in scraper position. The same principle could be used on your bucket where the springs were tensioned to tare out the weight of the bucket + half the max payload. The electric lift would then only need enough force to lift or lower 1/2 the payload weight. This would greatly reduce the stress on the bell crank. As always, with stored potential energy, caution must be exercised.
