9 pointsJust wanted to show off my new Toy. I think it's my fathers day gift. It was at a auction today. Wasn't going to go because I didn't think I could afford it but my dear sweet wife said you never know & told me to go anyway. It's a 855 with a Freeman Pony Loader.

4 pointsPurchased this at the end of March and completed it the day after Memorial Day!! Quite an experience since I'd never done anything like this before!! I found a green dump cart and painted it to match and applied WH decals. I'm hoping the weather's good this weekend so I can take it to the show in Biglerville!!!!

4 pointsWell, as KenB mentioned in his recent thread, I now have custody of C195. I picked up a deck from Stevebo the same day. Thanks to Ken and Steve for transferring the deck to Ken's in advance of me picking it up. So far I love this thing. The center blade on the deck broke a socket but I am tenacious and I finally got the blades off and sharpened. As I write this, I am waiting for the 92 inch belt that my wife is picking up for me. Should have this horse grazing at full efficiency by end of the day. I have wanted a C195 since seeing Buckranchers in person at the Big show last year. But my slush fund and few opportunities never quite lined up. The Big Show this year may have to pay the price. Still to be determined, I started with a C161 a couple years ago. Got it running well enough to mow and then I started collecting GT14's. I now have all but a parts cow GT14 running but constantly having to wrench on the C161 which is my worker while I start trying bring the GT14's back to respectability was getting on my nerves. Started looking for a low hour machine for reasonable amount when I ran across Ken's. I had inquired on a couple nice low hour machines but evidently lost out to local customers. Definitely worked out for me! I have attached a couple pics. I live in Adirondacks and the soil is very sandy. The lawn is in its second year. Should be lush and full by next year. The big deck will make the regular 2-3 hours yard maintenance much more efficient!

4 pointsThis was my dad's C 160 he bought when I was a kid. I learned to mow and blow snow with this. Was thrilled to get it out of the old garage where it was sitting, rusting, and waiting to be scrapped.
-
3 pointsI bought fuel put some in.....filmed it starting after a couple of turns, or at least I thought I had filmed it...Camera was on pause, I filmed the bit where the carb flooded and it would not restart. I think I need to have a look at the float chamber. The main thing is that my horse lives!
-
3 pointsI made this set and added hammered gold leaf overlays on my 520. It sold one day later because I had it sitting outside after mowing

2 pointsHey guys! I'm new to the board and thought I would share my project. Growing up my dad bought a 1976 B-100 that I learned to mow on when I was 6 years old. It was the first motorized anything I ever drove. Over the years I spend a serious amount of time on that tractor and learned everything from how to operate a clutch to back up a trailer. Fast forward 25 years....dad stopped mowing with the B-100 because the engine had lost compression and power. It got put in the corner of the barn for 5 years and he bought a used 92' Horse. Two weeks ago, a good friend bought a zero turn and had a 96' Horse that was spotless. He asked my dad if he wanted to buy it and he pulled the trigger. Having no room in the barn for the B-100 he asked me if I wanted it. Heck yeah! I swung by that week with the trailer and brought it home. I thought I would start with an engine rebuild and mow with it but as I started to tear into it things got out of hand. I decided to do a full show quality rebuild and am currently finishing up the paint work. I used PPG epoxy primer and Urethane top coat. I am currently doing body work on the sheet metal to fix a couple dings that were probably from me or my brother growing up. Last night I pulled the K241 apart and am dropping the block and crank at the machine shop tommorow morning. Turns out the top piston ring was cracked and had a loose piece floating. I expected to find a piston with "STD" on the top but after cleaning up the top it has a single "1" stamped in the top. Not sure if this is a standard bore or a 0.010 over? I guess I'll find out after it gets to the machine shop. Here's some pics of the progress!! Back form the media blaster....time to smooth out the metal. Epoxy primer on,,, Laying down some glossy red!! Fresh coat of Sherwin William Linen White paint on the wheels.. Mower deck coming back together...

2 pointsSorry to hear about the Lyme's disease. It's something that I dread being around. I use Tick Tubes to lessen the possibility but I'm not sure how effective they are being the only one in my cluster of neighbors using them. As a side note, I got a small patch of Poison Ivy doing some cleanup in early May with a quick run into the woods on a tractor. Shorts and no socks didn't help. I have an 81 year-old neighbor who literally whizzes around her property using her Craftsman ride-on. Always good to see her while wearing a shower cap.doing the mowing! This is one of the neighbors that I plow the driveway for in Winter. I joked with my wife that since breaking my ankle the other day - that I should ask her to do my mowing while I'm laid up!
-
2 pointsNice tractor, I just oiled mine for the patina look, if you need any help identifying or pictures, mines all original and complete, I will be happy to share any way I can. Gas tank is suppose to be red, but mine was bare when I got it and liked the look so kept it that way!

1 pointA man went to the police department to report that his wife was missing: Husband: – My wife is missing. She went shopping yesterday and has not come home. Sergeant: – What is her height? Husband: – Gee, I’m not sure. A little over five feet tall. Sergeant: – Weight? Husband: – Don’t know. Not slim, not really fat. Sergeant: – Color of eyes? Husband: – Never noticed Sergeant: – Color of hair? Husband: – Changes a couple times a year…….maybe dark brown. Sergeant: – What was she wearing? Husband: - Could have been a skirt or shorts. I don’t remember exactly. Sergeant: - What kind of car did she go in? Husband: - She went in my truck. Sergeant: - What kind of truck was it? Husband: - A 2015 Ford F150 King Ranch 4X4 with Eco-boost 5.0L V8 engine special ordered with manual transmission. It has a custom matching white cover for the bed. Custom leather seats, DVD with Navigation, 40 channel CB radio, 6 cup holders,4 power outlets, custom floor mats, trailer package with gold hitch. Put on special alloy wheels and off road Michelin’s. My wife put a small scratch on the driver’s door. The husband started tearing up. Sergeant: - Don't worry Sir…………..We'll find your truck. .

1 pointAfter six years in an unheated space sounds like stuck rings. You can try something like Marvel Mystery oil, leave the dipstick loose and run engine for awhile to see if the rings free up.If the rings don't free up and allow less blowby then it sounds like you may need to tear the engine down. Not that difficult but a gasket set and maybe new rings need to be on hand.JMHO opinion,Luck JAinVA

1 pointHey guys, I custom made lift kit for it. I think it came out perfect. I didn't have to do any cutting of the fenders. the only real thing I had to do was build lift plates an drill extra hole on the foot rest deck. Plus pick up 4 longer screew Ill post some pictures of the secret sauce soon. But here of the finished product. (tractors not finished yet paint is coming soon)
-
1 pointGot a lot more done today! Pretty damn happy with the results too. It's not perfect, there are certainly a few sags and bugs in the paint, but then again this was a refresh on a "working machine", not a restore. - Wet sanded hood and fender pan down to 2K grit, compounded, and polished out. - All the remaining tractor decals installed. - Rebuilt Engine started and carburetor tuned in. Runs like a champ, thank God! - Installed "new" muffler. - Installed hood ornament. - Seat and Brackets installed. - Head and Tail Lights installed, but not wired yet. - Polished most of the rest of the tractor. - All that's left is rims and wheels, color the steering wheel and lift handle, wire the lights, and a myriad of other small details.

-
1 pointCraig- Terry already sent me the new decals.. Thought I was picking them up at the show however I guess Terry decided to give me a little "push" by sending them to my house... lol
-
1 pointGit r done Steve. What happened, you run out of rusty metal primer? I might consider selling some of your wares for a barter... I'm thinking maybe a cigar, or two

1 pointJust get or make a slot hitch to sleeve hitch adapter and you can use almost anything.
-
1 pointmight be able to sell those other parts to a member that is converting a deck the other way..........you know....from a regular deck to a D series.... Here are the parts that need removed and changed out.....so don't throw them out....you may purchase a D series....or someone may be able to use them.
-
1 pointthe slot hitch works with alot of the older attachments i have a wheel horse disc that uses that style hitch and ive seen older single bottom plows that use it too. you would need the sleeve hitch for most stuff thats sold these days
-
1 pointThanks guys. i got the PTO belt on but only had time for a test run. i think the idler tension on the deck needs looked at as the blades slowed and struggled to cut. i'm sure I'll git'r'figured out in the coming days. Just need some quality time with it:-) The eaton provides slower tractor speed than I would have expected having only experience sunstrands although limited experience. The GT14's and the C161 both have sunstrands. No need for it to be faster though anyway. Just an observation. It is quieter than my others though which is nice.
-
1 pointI just now read that to my wife. She asked me if there was a certain emoticon I could post for her. Well, actually she showed me. I told her no because this is a family oriented forum. Glen, I'll introduce her to you at the show.

1 pointI'm in trouble now. In the past Mrs. Sailor has only driven the 518xi. After my accident the other day, the C-105 was hitched to the trailer and stayed in the middle of the driveway. We came back today from the doctor for my pre-surgery physical and asked her if she wanted to move them so that we could finally get her car into the garage. A small tree limb fell right behind her car with yesterday's storm. She now knows how to: put on the choke and pull it off by hand use the clutch shift between Hi-Lo Range shift between gears uncouple the trailer put the jack down I stand a chance of losing two tractors and a trailer now!!!
-
1 pointThanks guys! It's been a fun one with a few hard to find items. I finally have the headlight reflector housing and now the dash panel! I'm a big picture taker so I'll be sure to keep the thread updated.
-
1 pointJohn, you can ride through the parade in my dump trailer. I promise not to hit the lever!

1 pointI'm thinking like Brian and tbarnhart. I've never seen a 48" RD.
-
1 pointI don't think they ever offered a 48" rear discharge. 42"s were both side and rear, but 48"s were side only. Easiest way to distinguish between the two is where the mower height adjustment lever is. 42"s were on the right, 48"s were on the left.

1 pointGot a bit more done today. Belt Covers and Foot Rests installed, Foot Rest Mats fabricated, a few more decals attached, and .. oh yea, the Fender Pan and Hood are in clear-coat. Tomorrow starts the harness fabrication and buff out that clear-coat.
-
1 pointHey Guys, Heres an Update. I was able to mount the body without cutting it. The only thing I had to do was drill 2 new holes for the foot deck's The tires clear and theres no tire rub or anyhing. Altho it appears to be really close. (Im going to try it out for a few weekends around here before I decide to trim the fenders or not. Other then that it was relatively easy and bolt on.
-
1 pointI did. I got a call from my good friend Fireman this afternoon and he told me about the two. I was on the road so I had him contact seller and set up the pick up. Fireman was at work until tomorrow so he could not make the trip. The owner was nice but man he was out there in the sticks... Anyhow here are the before and after cleaning pics. This guy literally made his own tire chains. Check this out...
