2 pointsI have mine made also. But I use red for positive because I'm a Banana Head and would likely hook up a charger backwards!
-
2 pointsMy first was a 1998 ford ranger 4.0l ohv 4x4 with 3.73 axles short bed double cab sport. I loved that truck so much and wished I would have never sold it when I was 19 years and stupid..
-
2 pointsHello Glenn, Thank you for interest. I'll try & share as time goes on especially if i can grab the plough or blade soon. I'm not sure when i'll get it done but i may take it out, as is, for the 1st couple of shows. There is certainly a wealth of knowledge out there which is proving very useful.

1 pointFinally picked it up today. 1987 model with the M16S Kohler. It's no cream puff, but there's still a lot of work left in her! More pics to come, as it was dark and raining when I got her home.

1 pointPut some paint down a little darker then I would have like but hey it was free paint so can't complain
-
1 pointThanks for the inspiration everyone. My C160 plate is cracked completely apart. I think that I can make the plate, but I am not a welder. This will be an interesting project. Mark
-
1 pointLooks great for sure however for the record....... if you ever give me crap about oiling up my patina tractors I have your quote...."finished waxing the transmission and frame" ...... thanks for the ammo ! lol
-
1 pointIf it was the original HH160 I would definitely rework it to keep it original, but I've got the 341 so that's the route I'm going. Who knows maybe I'll luck out and find one down the road and slide it in to make as it came from the factory!

1 pointI know it is a FORD thing....wonder what made me think that photo was a FORD? Senior moment I guess! Quite a lot of aluminum vs. steel truck ads on TV. If GM makes an aluminum truck in a few years, how they expect to sell it saying "steel is so much better" now!!
-
1 pointSmart move by GM give it a couple of years to see if there are any major problems with the aluminum. Especially in the Northeast. I'm sure glad I got out of the auto business. Steel parts and steel bolts don't mix well with aluminum. And I have a 3 ft Snap-On breaker bar to prove it!
-
1 pointNope. That's Ford doing that. I did read an article stating that GM was in the process of securing aluminum contracts and may go that route in 2017 or 2018. Nice truck Craig

1 point:happy-jumpeveryone: :wwp: I'd go with the wife...the horse is 46 years old.....parts can wait another year.
-
1 pointThank you sir! All I know for sure is she swears I'll never forget my 38th birthday lol.

1 pointA few years back, I was selling lug nut kits for Wheel Horse tractors. I stopped making the kits when I got busy with my work, but now that I have retired, I am once again putting the kits together. Kit includes: 10 - 7/16-20 x 1-1/2" Grade 5, Zinc-plated bolts 10 - Zinc-plated 7/16-20 lug nuts Instructions for installation As soon as the kits are assembled and ready to ship, I will list them in the FOR SALE section.
-
1 pointNice truck Craig. Best of luck with it. For what you do...leasing is a great avenue. I do like the bigger WH decal...just saying.

1 pointNothing got in my eyes but I had the strangest situation with a wire wheel strand. I was cleaning some screw threads using a wire wheel in my drill press. Didn't think anything of it. When I was finished working on the project, I went to take a shower and all of a sudden there is something that I can't see sticking in the top of my left shoulder. It actually was facing towards the outside. I got my wife to look and she took a 3/4" piece of wire from the wire wheel out of my shoulder. I can not figure out how it got there as I was wearing a jacket, flannel shirt, and T-shirt while cleaning the screws. I just can't stress enough to wear goggles or wrap-around safety glasses while using anything that rotates.
-
1 pointPhilip, I sure find it interesting, matter of fact, very interesting. Thanks for sharing, best of luck and keep us posted. Hope I get this right, my buddy Neil will correct me if not,,,,"jolly good ol chap". Glenn

1 pointThat looks so simple vrs the factory arrangement. I like it Lane!
-
1 pointYep Steve, its pretty nice to get into a warm vehicle in winter and cool vehicle in summer without leaving the house. If you have the heated and cooled seats, they work as well on the remote. I'm not sure what outside temp the computer decides on for the hot/cold etc. and i don't use it year around, but its really nice to get into a comfortable temp truck at the extremes of our weather.....

1 pointHere are the choices for belts used with the 5xi-Series tractors mower decks. 78353 42" Rear Discharge Belt #95-4093 78357 44" Side Discharge Belt #95-4094 78358 44" Recycler Belt # 95-4094 78363 48" Side Discharge Belt #95-4095 78364 48" Recycler Belt #95-4095 78370 52" Side Discharge Belt #95-4094 78375 52" Recycler Belt #95-4094 78395 60" Side Discharge Belt #95-4093 It sounds as if you have a 48" Side Discharge deck. I have both a 48" SD and 52" SD but they are outside and it is raining today. I can check mine tomorrow for you on the dimension that you gave.

1 pointKen, if you are talking about the key/fob combo,...... Like I said, my favorite, wish my truck was the same way, much easier to get in your pocket. I don't like the key and separate fob, I never have all my other keys with the vehicle keys and the small size of the fold in key/fob makes the pockets a little lighter.... 1 pointThanks Nappy Not much to report, the left side foot plate thingy is taking shape. As you can see it needed quite a bit of extra metal to get it to the right shape. And a slight change of plan. The frame I made to be welded under the fender pan is now being welded to the chassis. And the latest Why Not video for ya all..

1 pointI was out and about today and drove into Desoto. I have stopped by Mueller Motors-Olson before and always look to see what's in their yard. But I hadn't been there in a while. So I decided to stop in and say hello. They still have the RJ58 in their building, on a shelf. It's moved from the window as I always seen it before to the adjacent wall. I talked to Tony, who apparently now runs it and we talked about how tractors aren't made as sturdy as they once was. He said whenever they come across an older Wheel Horse that has them stumped on fixing it, they come here to RS for the answers.
-
1 pointWhile researching my grandparent's store I found this vintage Wheel Horse add from a newspaper dated March 30, 1969. My grandparents owned Brant's Farm and Garden Center in Somerset, PA and sold Wheel Horse tractors from approximately 1968 until the mid 1970's.
-
1 pointI bet you're familiar with Bob's weld shop on Alpine Rd ? that was a Wheel Horse dealer I noticed you're from Lewisberry....I'm a stone throw from you south of Spring Grove .....our local dealer was Inerst Auto in Jacobus .....still open today with Toro/ Echo / Wheel horse parts .

1 pointI want to thank you all who took part in my little survey... the results were really as I expected. I've finally had some time to rework the list in the first post and organize by state. (If you find an error in there, please just PM me, and I'll get it fixed as quick as I can) Thank you to all who have contributed to this list so far. I've updated with the available information through the last post. I've also updated the original post to include this paragraph. Keep them coming folks... there were thousands! We're just getting started!

1 pointI grew up in my grandparents dealership, it was "Zook's Hardware" They started selling Wheel Horses around 1965 in Burlington, Indiana. They moved the store to Kokomo, Indiana around 1986 and closed in 1997 when Lowes opened about 1/2 mile down the street. (damn those big box stores lol) Most of my early childhood was spent in their store, my cousin and I still tell grandma and grandpa stories about the things we did and got away with in that building. They also sold Stihl, Lawn Boy, and Simplicity, it was also a Tru-Value Hardware store. A couple years ago I found a brochure of blackhoods with the dealerships sticker on it. I took it to my local sign shop and had him print me a page of them on vinyl so I could put them on my horses.

1 pointKuhn Sales and Service, Bascom, Oh still open selling Toro and others. This is the Wheel Horse on a pole I own two machines with a sticker that says Fullers in Lansing, Mi I believe that they are still there but never confirmed. I usually get my parts from Brady's Power Equipment in Holt Mi. Although Dankin's in Jackson Mi is closer to me they seem to not want to be bothered with anything that is not Kubota.
