Finally a decent day. Spent about an hour cleaning up dog muffins from the winter and cleared a path to get the RJ out of the shed so I can finish work on it. Couldn't resist putting a little Tru-Fuel in it and spinning it over. I didn't get the rope too hot like I used to on the Teckys! 4 or 5 pulls and it was running I have 6 Kohlers and 5 of them will only start with the throttle closed. Only the Sqonkfest 1267 wants the throttle open. Short video of up the street and back. Don't know if the neighborhood is ready for a Circus Bear on a Tricycle yet. Pardon the fat fingers in the beginning. I was so overwhelmed being able to "Horse Around" again I wasn't paying attention!

The only thing I like about the snow is taking rides thru the woods on my Rancher....but this winter the first real snowfall was to deep for it and everytime it snowed the old snow was still there, which made it way to deep, so I have not been out this season. But today I ventured out, forgot my camera the first time around so I took a second trip with my camera. Still plenty of snow but with the warmer temps its also getting muddy and sloppy. I'm a back! Its true, I'm back into this very addicting hobby once more and I have several new things at my disposal now. First lets do a little recap. Year 2012: I loose my desk job at the start of the new year. This cause me to do a career change from computers/snow removal and lawn care on the side to truck driving. In order to do truck driving local I must go over the road for a year or more to get experience. Then I can apply for a local position. In order to fully do this I have to sell and get rid of most of my possessions since I will be gone for so long and move out of my mom's house finally. So I pack up what I could into storage unit and sell the rest. Then I really leave from may 2012 to about November 2013. During this time I was able to find the most amazing wife in the world on my travels, marry her, find a nice little trailer for rent in a very small town 30min away from my hometown, and we have our first child together. (A adopted very large 4 year old male tuxedo cat named Goliath) We really can;t have children as she is unable to conserve due to medical issues but that doesn't mean we can have children in other forms. November 2013: Now that I have just over one year of over the road trucking under my belt I start looking for a local job. I was able to land a heating oil truck position at a local oil company for the winter. Then april 2014 come along and the winter oil season dried up so I transferred to a smaller oil company who only transports motor oil and hydraulic oil to the local car dealerships and repair shops in the area. They used to send lots of oil to the mills all around the area but to the economy most of the mills all shut down so we only have about 4 mills left. I have been there for almost one year now and have no plans on leaving. With this secure job and my amazing wife Jessica working as a secretary for a local dr. office our personal bills are all caught up and well under control. We did loose our first son, Goliath last Christmas due to a very bad medical trouble he had but one of our friends had a little of kittens in November so we adopted one young lady cat a month after Goliath left us. You all might think we are crazy but one can really become attached to animals. Winter of 2015. This past winter was a very cold and snowy one for sure. I'm so glad my mother allowed me to put my snowblower at her house while I was over the road as it really came in handy this year. Since I live in a nice kept up trailer park, most of the driveways are very close to each other. This makes it very easy for me to go from one drive to the other with my Toro walk behind and move the snow out of there driveways with out having to load the blower after each job. I would average about one driveway every 10min. LOL. Anyway, after making a nice amount of bonus money this past winter Jessica encourage me to recreate my old lawn care and snow removal bis with the snow removal still just taking place in the park as its plenty of work here every storm and very little overhead. The lawncare is a different story. Instead of driving around the whole city as I used to in the past, I will just stick to 10 to 15 local lawns in my little town so the travel time is very low. This allows me to work on the weekends but not the whole time hopefully and just have fun and generate a little extra cash to help pay off some old debt we owe along with build up our bis so one day I can just work for myself and loose my day job. This has always been my dream, but this is a first step in that direction. She has been helping me in so many ways to make it all real and official. Our bis name is Sampays's Lawn care and she wants to help during the mowing season as well so it will be more of a joint operation. I just want to have fun for now and see where it all goes. So now I have a local 10x15 mini storage in witch the owner is allowing me to use his electrical outlet and unit as my very first garage. Well, it really not to bad and I'm so excited to start working on horses again. Thanks for reading this very long post and I hope you all enjoy reading about how I came along in my life. A few years back, I was selling lug nut kits for Wheel Horse tractors. I stopped making the kits when I got busy with my work, but now that I have retired, I am once again putting the kits together. Kit includes: 10 - 7/16-20 x 1-1/2" Grade 5, Zinc-plated bolts 10 - Zinc-plated 7/16-20 lug nuts Instructions for installation As soon as the kits are assembled and ready to ship, I will list them in the FOR SALE section.

Wow! Haven't done this in a while! Another save of an orphaned 'Horse from a local OPE shop. 1986 416-8 with 801 hours. Only known issues are a broken connecting rod and a few cannibalized parts. (coil & light switch) 48" deck appears to be in great condition other than the leading edge of the shell looks like it was used as a grader blade. Particulars weren't divulged, but I presume the owner didn't like the cost of repairs and traded it in on a running machine. They did tell me that the crankcase had very little oil upon arrival at the shop. No visible external damage or extra ventilation holes in the block, so I guess I'll open it up and assess the damage. Either way it's definitely worthy of repair.

There's no such thing as a C-162 ~ that is an internet typo. The wrong tank tray or decals could have been installed at the factory or it might have been replaced later for whatever reason.

I was driving 3 hours south for the kick off of bass tourney season with our first scheduled tourny, snowing, windy and cold as all get out but reward does ease the numbness...

This past weekend I picked up a real nice 310-8. It was a one owner machine that clearly has seen very little seat time. My typical anal-retentive cleaning process has begun - as well as the parts ordering (for every little thing that just annoys me - like the cloudy gas cap for example). The plan is for it to be a very light worker. My idea of light work is to build a trailer hitch for the back so during the summer I can move my two trailers from their spot in the back yard, around front to the driveway when needed. Outside of that, it'll be waxed and under cover in the garage. I'd like to upgrade the front wheels to 8" and get some larger rubber in the rear too. More to come.

Just picked this 314 -h 1996 anniversary edition from a fellow member in p.a today excited to actually keep it and mow with it at my new house .

Finally have the 57 pretty much done! Just a few things to go back and fix and it will be finished. Started on this one over 2 years ago, just have been dragging my feet and working on it a little at a time. Pretty happy with how this one came back. I may attempt the paint pen trick on this one, but going to try it out on a another hood before I risk messing this one up. Well you big lug, according to your chart, you and I are the only ones having our champion teams still in it. And you have 2 more bullets still in it than me. This is starting to get ridiculous. First the football pool, then the bowl game pool. I'm tired of finishing 2nd banana to my older brother!!! (Mom always liked you best! ) Although I would rather see a nice team from Wisc win than Kent. , If you win this contest I would leave your basement. There will be a box of fire ants delivered to your house and they will put an end to my misery!

I guess I kind of treated myself for my birthday the other day! But the other sad thing is that I officially am holding myself off. Unless I see something amazing or I sell one, no more tractors for me for 2015, I CAN'T bring any more home. I have NO room. I want to focus on fixing up what I have rather than getting new ones. Although we all love getting new ones

Good Morning! My name is Steve, I am resurrecting a 1957 RJ35 (I think it is) that I've owned for 30+ years. I'm looking for information on the carburetor; it is off a Clinton 1200 engine, and the carburetor is stamped "Clinton 56" on one side, LMG11 on the other. I am trying to determine if a rebuilding kit for this carburetor is available, I cant seem to find anything pertaining to the make and model of this engine & carburetor. Also, what is the best product to soak a carburetor in to remove dried residue? Any help? Thanks, Steve

Yep this 70+ year old manure spreader is still able to fertilize the strawberry beds in preparation for the new plants. The blackberry plants also get their share.

Using the bathroom during an " Emergency" doesn't qualify as a stay.

Sprayed some clear on the bare filler neck area. Also added the edge trim and glass bowl filter shut-off with the chrome nipple. Still need to clean up the threads on the 4 studs.

Even though it didn't turn out the way I wanted it was still one heck of a game. I was amazed how well ND rebounded against them. With family on my Dad's side in Kentucky and on my Mom's side in Wisconsin I don't have a favorite in that game but it will probably come down to the wire again. Mike, I'd be more than happy to send up some fire ants for your plan. I'm tired of chasing them over to the neighbors yard. Finally, somebody found a good use for them.

This has to be one of the most heart warming pics I have seen for a long time, The look on those two kids faces really made me smile. That's what this hobby is all about . Ah , the Mini Cooper , great little car , one of Great Britain's engineering success stories.

Just so you all know.....................I have NEVER been this close to being right picking the Final 4 from the start of the Tournament. If it does end up with the other 2 teams being Michigan St and Duke in the Final 4...I may be gone for a few days. Just saying. :orcs-cheers: :orcs-cheers:

Thanks Fooz. I definitely see where that deck would be a problem at the left front. I'm going to do some research. I'm pretty sure you have the same gas tank I have. I'll also do some measuring. I really don't need a gauge in the cap but it would be a neat addition. Matching the threads might be an issue.

I'd like to see the Zags take it all. Long row to hoe. I thought about putting them in my final 4 but didn't want to jinx them. I picked all teams I DON'T like!

Have drilled holes for the valve stems on the reverse side of the wheels, and applied the final coat of Gioss White. I also mounted the valve stems {not really the style I wanted, but; I purchased these chrome stems at a fairly discounted price.} I also ordered the second pair of Carlisle's, I would have ordered all 4 at once but I received a second discount by doing the multiple order route. Still waiting for this second pair to arrive via the post. I am hoping to get a couple mounted this week and do a mock-up on a spare axle that I removed from my parts tractor transaxle. Then I can measure to find the length that I will need to have the custom extended axles made.

It appears to be a Windolph Model "C" that has been "heavily been breathed on." And only a suggestion, but I'd sell it and run far away. Unless you have lots of spare time and funds, you will have a hard time restoring it to original. Spare parts are realistically speaking unobtainable, the modified parts (i.e. the front sprockets, frame, and drive train) will take considerable time and funds to return to original configuration. Replacement track chain is non-existant. The internal parts of the rear axle are "Gold" for a tractor that is "almost" there, so there is a market for those. The original transmission is the same used on the Crosley (I do happen to have a re-built spare) which was a three speed foreword box. The engine was a two cylinder Wisconsin. Good luck with your project.

Please put some extensions on that lift before you get hurt or wreck something! Nice tractor!

Thanks for the ideas. I like the two options of reusing the existing hub. Unfortunately, I don't have the tools to perform either of these operations. So, I found two new hubs on eBay yesterday. Pictures look like new. Should arrive next week. I appreciate your help.

Well, I turned it over for 30 seconds with the plug out to make sure fuel was through and splash the oil about a bit. Put the plug in, and it fired straight up :D

I starting collecting every one ever made in about 1985, then I found out how many they made and said forget that! But I wanted every one made from the early one's on up to about 1970. I just about have every one made from 1955 on up to about 1970. Plus a few more that just showed up along the way. I do need a 1957 RJ35( Hey Brrly, need one of your extra 1957's!). I like the early RJ's the most but one of my favorites is my bone stock 551. I had 5 or so 701's and sold a few. Had 5-603's and sold a few of them too. I had 100 tractors at one point and then I figured out I couldn't maintain all of them so I sold off a bunch. Now I have about 50 or more. Still buying them when the price is right, I can always trade them away for better ones. What a great hobby!

Alrighty! Got the tractor home and did some more work to it. I changed the transmission and engine oil, installed the wheel weights and tire chains, removed the mower and installed the snowblower (which is like new), and installed Matt's foot pedal hydro. I won't be fixing the one rear light being out but it is a ground issue, after using a jumper it worked but I don't want to take the tins off again until spring when I do the valve adjustment and carbon cleaning. I noticed a problem with the brakes when I was taking it off the back of the truck, there was no return tension which made it hard to get it in gear and I found the return spring was missing so I grabbed one at the local Toro dealer and that is working correctly now. I also installed a battery tender Jr and the foot rest covers. It's pretty much done for now. There was a small issue with the foot pedal but Matt was quick to reply and we figured out the problem quickly. Anyway it looks and runs great. If someone could help me real quick, the 48" deck shell I got is like new but it doesn't have blades/rollers/wheel/belt. I started looking into it and it seems as though it's from the 60's or 70s and I've seen it on Charger and GT 14 models using google image search. It's very solid, almost new except for the paint being worn and some surface rust. Would this fit on the 520 or should I just sell it to someone restoring an older tractor? Thanks! I like your engineering. I did something similar to mine 24 years ago. Had a front wheel that would not keep the bearing tight and cut up my spindle. The tires wouldn't hold air, I just changed everything. I had to tighten the right front bearing a couple of months ago is the only thing I have done since the change. I know you will like the new hubs. I have 6 ply rated tires on mine and it steers a lot better.

I use 80-90w GL-5 in mine. I change mine frequently, so I wouldn't even consider synthetic. Matt :flags-texas:
