2 pointsSo I finally got around to taking a couple of pictures of my new 603. This was a one owner tractor I picked up in Bay City, MI. Has both deck and push blade in very good condition. The gentleman that owned this lived on a small city lot and took very good care of it. I haven't had a chance yet to look it over or try to get it running yet. Here's a few pictures.

What day will you be there and how long are you staying? Are you staying in a Hotel/Motel or camping? Will you be displaying, selling, or both? If you are selling, what are you bringing? If you are buying, what are you looking for? Personally, I will be there on Thursday morning. I will be camping. I hope to be setting up on the usual corner under my RED canopy. I will be both displaying, and selling a few things. I should have replacement brake liners, 9-pin connector kits, and lug bolt to lug nut conversion kits. As far as what I will be looking for, my list includes a front end loader to fit on my 416-H, and a mid-mount grader blade.

2 pointsit's been out of commission for awhile but it's back with a new motor and new rear meat, some maintenance on just about everything and after moving some snow piles back from the road and driveway, I shined it up in the garage since the temps were in the high 30's today with a little rain! Now I need to find another Onan or repair the original that was in it. Need to tear into that later this week or next weekend to find it's issues though I just know it is most likely a valve seal in the rear cyl.

2 pointsI think I see the problem, you have held up "Old Man Winter" as an idol on an alter; what would you expect; lots of snow! Put up a Tropical Teekie in his place and winter will be over. Probably take six weeks to get close enough to set up a ladder to do it! Hope things get better soon.

2 pointsSo here's an update on the 603 and the 45th Parallel Garage. I couldn't get the tecky to fire and in doing so I broke the recoil spring. With the help of a couple of guys here I bought a new after market carburetor on-line along with a couple of NOS recoil springs. (can't hurt to have an extra) I also wanted a new fuel bowl and filter so I ordered one with some extra gaskets from RCPW. Installed the spring and carb and she fired right up. I've spent a couple of nights trying to adjust the carb to run well. I've gone as far as I can with it. At least it runs so I plowed some snow today with it to see how it would perform. Not too bad Maybe someone can help me adjust it at the show this spring. I also ordered a new air filter as the old one was pretty much useless. I noticed that there is little to no clearance between the filter cover and the grill. Is this normal? I haven't looked but I don't believe that there is any adjustment to slide the engine back some. I also noticed that the bottom of the hood/grill is gone and the PO didn't have it secured very well. Here is a picture of my Ranger hood. Is this correct? If it is I'll braze one onto the 603. Now on to the 45th Parallel Garage. Mrs. Funengineer finished her decorating and we now have an additional guest room. My kids will love it. I'm also installing some of the extra barn wood I had left over on the garage wall that separate's the paint booth-bunkhouse from the garage area. I'll post pictures of that when it warms up and I can finish it.

2 pointsThe herd has been growing and I've needed this for a while since moving from a place with a two car garage, into a house with nothing. I've been working out of an instant garage tent and on the ground for almost 7 years. This will be nice in the winter! 12 x 24 was all that would fit but it's nice with a 20' loft.

I thought it might be of interest to all you members who are delving into these transmissions to repair them. It could help you identify what size new keys you need to replace. 1 pointI think the starting price was $3000 I dont recall if there was a buy it now or reserve. I was following 2 that were for sale around the same time last year. If this is indicative of the cost of the 420 LSE, i doubt I will ever own one. It would need to be absolutely pristine like KenB's for me to even think about that kind of coin, and then itd be a hard sell to the girlfriend. I would sooner own a Senior or Lever Steer

1 pointPlan to be there Thursday morning. Camping under the trees with a great bunch of RS folks. Will have a tractor or two to display hopefully between Maynard and VINYLGUY again. Don't know if I'll have anything to sell. Currently the only thing on my wish list is a pair of 6x12 rims and a Ranger L-157 snow plow. Today it's another below zero morning with no new snow [emoji30]. I can't wait for June. [emoji2]. Sent from my tractor seat.

1 pointI bought a d-160 a month or two ago with a bad Onan, came with a 50" good deck, a 50"/51" (how ever you measure it) very nice tiller, rear 3-point, had a good Onan sitting on the floor, gave $250 for it...couldn't be happer..

1 pointThey should come off by prying just a little and working your way around the hub-cap....much like opening a gallon of paint. Be careful not to pry too much in 1 place...Just keep working around the hub-cap.

1 pointMade SOME progress this week, After discovering the trans was in need of some attention. so i put in all new seals and bearings and of course I had to track down a cluster gear and both sliding gears. it was also missing both shift levers and the input pulley,(not sure why the previous owner removed then lost those) Thanks to Shuboxlover for those. Got a bunch more small parts on their way from Daveoman this week also. This poor tractor has been raped and pillaged something awful. LOL So as of now the tranny is in one piece again and bolted to the cleaned up frame.

1 pointHI Brunner, Did you install a new throttle wire on it recently or have it off and re-installed? I noticed on mine that if you don't have the governor set correct with the throttle stop after taking the throttle wire off, it is very difficult to start. It runs great once it's started! Anything from flooding/fouling the plugs to not having enough fuel to fire depending on where you set the throttle lever to fire it. Recent post on installing the throttle cable in case you had yours off: You have to make sure you adjust the cable to the high speed throttle stop on the Onan. When I adjust, I release the clamp, move the throttle lever to full throttle and then pull against the governor spring lever ( the one with the 3 or 4 holes) until it hits the high speed throttle stop and then clamp it down. PS.......it's a bi#@* if you only have two hands!

1 pointThanks, nick and Chris... Idler kinda worked but broke during early testing today. A new fully adjustable arrangement is much better. Here's the outcome of getting the idler sorted.
