8 pointsHI all, Ended up dragging home another 35 today, believe it to be a 55. You guys may of seen this tractor in the classifieds Its actually pretty nice and straight other than some rigging. It needs the drive system put back to original and the right motor, but that won't be too hard. This has been repainted, but it doesn't look to bad, I plan to just clean it up and get it back to stock. The steering wheel is in good shape with no cracks/welds and the gas tank doesn't leak. Hubs are both the cast-non turned down kit so this tractor never had brakes on it. All the original tires are in pretty good shape too, without much weather checking. This also came with a rear plow but I don't have pictures of it. The cool thing is I had already made a deal on it, and when I went to pick it up, I noticed it had the noseweight in it.
-
5 pointsI tried to get Steve. He likes cold water! Thought of you but I figured you were busy playing with your tractors on the living room floor!
-
5 pointsWell I tore it part way apart today, I yanked the hubs and found them to be in really good shape, and the original paul setup was still there, however I noticed on the pto side, the little dimples that catch the spring in the drive system are pointing out like on a 57, so it looks like it only ever had 1 wheel drive, I doubt this it how it should be? But otherwise, I yanked the rigging of the drive system off, and the engine and started cleaning it up, its actually a lot nicer than I expected under the grease and looks to be original. I'm going to get it as good as I can now with just rags and brake clean, and in the spring or summer I'll rip it mostly apart and wash it good with our pressure washer. I would take the hood off now, but its not going to be easy with that weight in there, so I'll save that for another day. Anyways, here's some pictures of how its starting to look, and how dirty my floor is getting And here's the enging I'm going to use, I just have to change the governor setup on it to be correct And the plow

4 pointsCurrently 62 degree's here ... intermittent rain and Sun ... Enjoying it! Love the picture Craig ... thats Calendar material ... get the truck outta the shot and it could be from way back when ... you know ... when you were knee high to a grasshopper.

3 pointsSearching CL last night came across this one. No pictures of it online so I figured I would check it out. Runs perfect nothing mechanically wrong other then tires are cracked. Was passed around a family. Did not come with anything other then the weights. Going to see if I have some time tonight to clean it up some.
-
3 pointsSeesh...only 45 minutes uploading there... to bring 5 minutes worth of video here. Discovered tonight, this tractor is needing half a choke now to run good... seems it must be time to do a carb cleaning again...sigh. All told, at best...we might have received a grand total... two inch accumulation today.
-
3 pointsTeaser shot, while you wait... uploading video to Youtube is in sloooooooooow moooooooootion tonight.
-
3 pointsGot it complete enough to go out for a ride, seems to drive good and work as it should and I didn't even have to adjust the system. Just going to run a throttle cable, exaust, and add a kill switch and will call it done until I can give it a good wash in the spring, also plan to repaint the rims then, and add some new decals. Gonna cut off the angle iron from the front axle too, and the extra guide on the belt guard.

3 pointsThe Ducks have never won. That's one reason I'm going with them. How can you not like the way they thrashed Fl St. no matter what conference they play in. plus I hate THE Ohio Staters almost as much as Michigan. Also if Brrly picks OSU my odds of winning have tripled! Steve's right. We stink at this. If a knot head like me can be in 2nd place there is no logic to this at all. I can name 2 college players only because I watched half of the Rose Bowl.

2 pointsThe 1642 Work Horse is up 'n running. Still need some TLC but, one item at a time. Here's the Horse today, too much gray, used some red on the belts (left 'n right). Added the height adjust for plowing, was a simple little project.

2 pointstotally understand Geno.... Corel is a very powerful program full of features and a steep learning curve, I didn't think that I would get over the 'overwhelmed hump' I was in at first, thought maybe my brain was getting too old to pick up something new. but im over it now and excited about creating different things with the program. I worked all New Years Day on this one. Found a pic in the WHFinal power point in the manuals section and set about recreating it........ not exactly true to the original, but a great learning exercise.......

2 pointsVery nice Martin and thanks for the vote of confidence. Terry knew I was about to quit a few weeks ago when I told him with everything else going on I was about to explode and was going to give up on the dealer decals. It really is me, I'm too picky and trying to make a Wheel Horse font was driving me bonkers so in turn I was driving Terry bonkers, Terry can vouch for that too. He brought me around like it seems he does for everybody, he's really great. Most of what I do is on Photoshop and can make an average avatar in 5-10 minutes but it's nothing like learning Corel.
-
2 pointsive been learning to use Corel DrawX6 on an off for about a month now (probably about 10-15 hours if you don't count messing around and not concentrating on learning!!!). you need to give it a chance. sure, ive got a long way to go until I have a grasp on it like Terry (vinylguy) does and maybe it will take years but I already have grasped enough to want to do more. a few weeks ago I wasn't feeling the same way. very overwhelming, but I started reading a little on how to do the basics and now I cant leave it alone. the help section is your friend. there is a great amount of info available. I also picked up a book Corel DrawX6 The Official Guide. there are also tutorials available both in that book and online. I need to thank Terry for he's given me much encouragement, especially early on when I was ready to throw in the towel........... (he didn't know it at the time) im not interested in taking anything away from this thread Geno, or your avatar service either, but my avatar was made with this program by myself (with my limited knowledge) in about 30 minutes this morning.......

2 pointsWell Steve, I'm not a fan of the Pac 12 either so that's why I'm going to pick the Ducks! This way you and I can't end in a tie if it comes down to it. Going to hedge my bets and pick someone I don't like so I have something to cheer about. They loose and it's "HaHa the Ducks lost" They Win and I get another point on you! LOL! When this season is over, I bet I'm not the only one going to look back and say "Ewwwwwww, I'm a little sickened that I actually was pulling for THAT team to win"
-
2 pointsI have Koen and Brandon yet to pick the Championship Game. RacinBob is right...to have a chance he has to pick Oregon...I think Brandon is in the same boat to win it all. Koen, I think. is not out of it to win it either...he needs to win all 3 though. Actually, when you look at it...we all really suck at picking these Bowl Games. 1st. place is only 2 games over .500 at this point and it is possible that 1 game over .500 could end up winning it all. No wonder Brrly1 is still in it!!! :ychain:

2 pointsI agree with TT. My batteries all have a CCA of 300. If it refuses to power the starter properly, I try charging it at 15 amp for at least 12 hours. If it still refuses to start properly, then I suspect a cell has gone bad. I take mine to my local Battery Warehouse where they will load test if for free.
-
2 pointsWhen the Buckeyes get done with oregon, they'll be glad there ducks cause they'll be swimming home quack, quack, quack!!!!
-
2 pointsGoing to be a while getting the hang of Sony Vegas , but I finally figured how to clip & add video footage & splice into one . Still got a lonnnng way to go . All I had to work with right now was some clips from the blizzard in November .

2 pointsThe Case VAC is 1951, Cut the field with a 1953 Case DC3 and a 1951 Case Sickle bar. Unloading is teh problem all hand work. I pick up enough for mulching and compost. Then borrow a roll over rake and rake the rest up. My neighbor bales it and takes it for his cows.
-
2 pointsVery nice Jake. As you know that front nose weight will make a huge difference. You may even be able to turn it while driving up a slight incline
-
2 pointsHere are some more pictures. The 520H found it's way home but needs a little love in the engine department.
-
2 pointsWe rarely hear of 16hp Onans failing. Its usually he 20hp They seem to throw valve seats at 500 and 2000 hours. No rhyme or reason as to why or when. Those same motors go 2000+ in welding and generator rigs. Just maintain it and enjoy. Besides what's the point of having a horse if you're gonna keep it in the stall?

1 pointRear tires are 23-10.5's, Carlisle Turf. You can mount the 10.5's on your rims but, lower air pressure to keep the tread flush.

1 pointGreat lookin' Stallion. All dressed up too! The white stuff, 1/2" here in SE PA, mostly slop / slush, cold, bitter.

1 pointHere's a little update on the 59. Started painting some stuff on friday, got some done, but not everything. Also reprimed the other parts and got them sanded and ready for paint. I'm going to merge the 57 with this thread for now, as its all getting painted together at the same time. Today I put the 57 frame back together and glued some tank straps in it. Anyways here's some pictures of whats been painted, and the stuff that was reprimed/sanded. Hope to have most of this stuff painted by the end of the week. Gear case cover back on These were painted, but got messed up a little bit, so they were scuffed and will get repainted The tank straps glued in, I've done this on several tractors now, and it has worked well. And some shiny red parts(In case your wondering, yes this is my closet. ) The top 2 pictures are for the 57 and bottom 2 or for the 59 Will add more pictures as more stuff gets painted
