10 pointsThis is the machine I did over a year ago, which got me started looking for a different project, and that's how I ended up here, working on a Wheel Horse. This is 1947 Bolens Huski Gardener. I've used it to plow my 1/4 mile driveway for over 15 years. I want to see the old iron stay running.

9 pointsSearching CL last night came across this one. No pictures of it online so I figured I would check it out. Runs perfect nothing mechanically wrong other then tires are cracked. Was passed around a family. Did not come with anything other then the weights. Going to see if I have some time tonight to clean it up some.

5 pointsGreat pictures guys...love that Elgin Outboard. Well, Ive restored (re-built) a number of Wheel Horse transmissions again this year, but I got into fixing up a bunch of old chairs that have been over at my Mom's for years. I think I have done about 9 or 10 this year. Here is a couple of picks...

-
4 pointsThank God the original background is back here.I hate to sound like Scrooge, but my 61 year old eyes found it very difficult to see the writing due to the Holiday backgrounds.Just my 2 cents worth.

3 pointsHI all, Ended up dragging home another 35 today, believe it to be a 55. You guys may of seen this tractor in the classifieds Its actually pretty nice and straight other than some rigging. It needs the drive system put back to original and the right motor, but that won't be too hard. This has been repainted, but it doesn't look to bad, I plan to just clean it up and get it back to stock. The steering wheel is in good shape with no cracks/welds and the gas tank doesn't leak. Hubs are both the cast-non turned down kit so this tractor never had brakes on it. All the original tires are in pretty good shape too, without much weather checking. This also came with a rear plow but I don't have pictures of it. The cool thing is I had already made a deal on it, and when I went to pick it up, I noticed it had the noseweight in it.

3 pointsJust wondering what you restore when not working on your tractor. This is what I restored this year. first a 1929 Maytag washing machine motor then a 1947 Elgin outboard. Next a 1925 Stover 2hp hit & miss motor and finally my 1964/854 Wheel horse. Different challenge on each project, but the feeling was the same when they cranked over the first time.

3 pointsmy dad has had this old horse for a few years. I borrowed it a few months ago and repainted it and put some new decals on it Btw I'd love to find a deck resonable
-
3 pointsIllegally too! Did you read the Commonwealth laws regarding taking Horses out-of-state? The Horses have to be returned to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania immediately or I'm tellin'.

3 pointsSteve, put me down for the Buckeyes!!!! I'm thinkin', That was one heck of a game. Rob you beat me to it, I was going to ask you How you felt about the sec now??? :laughing-rofl: Easy now Rob this is a public forum!!! :ychain:
-
3 pointsI never thought it would happen but both playoff games went the way I wanted even though it cost me a loss in the pool. Congratulations Ducks and Buckeyes! The class(less) Seminoles done. The SEC done. Now.....to pick the champion. Can the Buckeyes stop the Duck offense and play at that pace? Either way it's going to be a great game.

3 pointsmy brother came over the other day to help me hook up the plow on the jeep. So now, I have 2 plows and 3 snow blowers. I better get sun tan oil, cause that killed it for the snow. I have the 520 right at the garage door, a foot back, ready for battle. My main battle tank,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,yawn. Lol Glenn

3 pointsI only finished two projects this year but came close on a third. Here is my David Bradley finished, my 1958 Gravely L that I freshened to sell, and my MW Chor Trac all painted but not re-assembled.

2 pointsThe 1642 Work Horse didn't have the height adjuster, now mine does. I notched the vertical dash plate, and installed the height adjuster and lower plate from a C-Series Horse. The inside mounting holes and wide slot for the adjustment hook were all under the shift plate. I did this so I could set the dozer plate height off the surface I was plowing.

2 pointsThis was the good stuff for its price. A lot cheaper then automotive paints and easy to put on. Some thought it had a orangy tint to it, but I'm color blind and it looked great to me.

-
2 pointsNo fiascoes yesterday Blue. We're not going to slow down this year Desko, we might even ramp it up a notch...
-
2 pointsWow Geno just read through this and wondered if your ever gonna slow down on buying horses nice haul tho
-
2 pointsI can't believe how much I have missed the "Tomahawk Chop". Can you tell I am being sarcastic??? I can't believe they allow that stuff in the Rose Bowl.
-
2 pointsWell, not that I am happy abut how SEC has played becasue I had many picks with them, BUT I am happy that they are not dong justice to the SEC Conference. I thought it was supposed to be the toughest conference in College Football.... Does not apprear to be that way in the bowl games.... They sucked worse than the Big 10 last year! Rob
