5 pointsSon 'n grandson went thru the woods to gather wood for the wood stove before the chill. The '90 520-8 keeps on rolling, trailer was filled to the top and lots more. Two other Horses have dozers mounted waitin' for the cold, wet, nasty white stuff! I made the boys clean the old Stallion, a good rub down. Gotta love and care for the Horses don't we? Have you heard of Geno's prison camp? He works the Horses so hard the Stallions sleep like rocks!

4 pointsDuring my recent project I decided to build an engine stand for Kohler single cylinder rebuilds, this is what I came up with.

4 pointsA couple weeks ago, I picked up this D180 and snow blade for $200. It doesn't run because it needs rewired and the air breather put on. The seller still has the air breather which he'll send to me as soon as he finds it. The tractor has hydraulics, drawbar and brand new Carlisle Ag tires on the rear. I would like to get it running but will need some help. First, does anyone have a wiring diagram for a D180? Where can I find a manual for this? Also, where would be a place to get parts for this? The tractor is entirely intact (minus the air breather) except for a couple sheet metal panels which I'd like to put on. Thanks in advance! -IvanW

3 pointsWell, today was a blast to be a Dad. Little background. I have three kids, 10yr boy, 7yr girl, and 5yr girl. My girls have yet to get into tractors (other than enjoying riding in the trailer)....but my 10 yr old has been bitten bad..... by the Wheel Horse bug. He has been to 9 of 10 Wheel Horse shows since he has been born and just loves them. If any of you spend time at the teeter-totter.....you more than likely have seen him riding his tractors there, because he goes through at least a tank of gas at the show....just on the teeter-totter. My Dad started buying and restoring Wheel Horses with him over the last 4 years. Every year they would get 1-2 tractors and restore them. Now he is up to 7!! His dream tractors are 420-LSE and a 520-8. So....found a real nice 520-8 here on RedSquare that I got for his present. I got him a couple of other Wheel Horse presents that he got to open at our house this morning. Wheel Horse calendar, which featured my 314-H in the Snow for the month of January and the LED Wheel Horse light for his room. The LED Glass Etched light was posted on here the last few weeks from a member who had them made and I bought one.... and he really liked both of those presents. So, we went over to the grandparents house after lunch and everyone had opened their presents and I told him that he has a present outside....so this is were the video begins. 2 Stage Bervac 46 " Snowthrower and 520-8. The little smile that he tries to hide, just melts my heart. Here is the link to the video: So far today, he has over 1.5 hrs on it! Glad Grandpa buys the gas, Thad (Ohio)

3 pointsWell I am missing the kids as we are on Christmas break right now. Since I am down with an upper respiratory infection I thought it would be a good time to get this thread updated for all of our dedicated followers. Here is what we have going on..... More disassembly took place on the B-80 with much more hand sanding. They just love grabbing a sanding block and going to town! The kids were ecstatic for another generous gift from Mr. Thames Goon who is a local collector. We now have our very own blast cabinet to help speed up the process of the smaller parts. Here is Thomas working on getting everything hooked up so the cabinet is ready to use. More of the tractor was disassembled and getting ready for the next stage. Slowly but surely we are tidying up a few loose ends on the first tractor. I would never have imagined it would take this long. We haven't given up hope yet. We will persevere. Our new blast cabinet has been a welcomed addition! The kids are amazed on how much it speeds up the process. We have been blessed this past year with some monetary donations. With the generosity we used the donations to our fullest on Black Friday. We were able to get a shiny new shop vac to connect to our blast cabinet. As well as another set of tools so that all hands can stay busy. Now since we have an amazing building to enjoy, and we were all in the Christmas spirit, we thought it would be fitting to decorate with some super cool tractor themed Christmas lights! And here is how we left the B-80 as we all headed off for Christmas break. Much progress has been done and much more work needs to be done! 2014 was an amazing year for this club. Thank you to all of you that have supported, encouraged, and followed our journey! We can't wait to see what 2015 has in store for us!

2 pointsI quickly used some rubbing compound with a damp rag, then gave it a quick coat of wax to see how the paint looks. It cleaned up pretty good. It smokes when you first start it but clears out after a little while. I think i'm gonna give the engine and quick rebuild. The transmission feels really strong. I'll see if I can con Ken into giving me a hand and see if we can clean up the paint a little more. Someone either broke or modified the brake pedal so i'll replace that. Otherwise that's it. I'll use it for plow duty when there's not enough snow for blower.

2 pointsThere's no J hooks needed or used. The oil pan has tapped holes for the right side (PTO side). Bolts come up from under the frame into the tapped holes in the pan. Perfectly correct.
-
2 pointsIm glad that you were able to get it removed. Dealing with problems things like that can be so frustrating and stressful. Just a thought, I always put a dab of anti seize compound on drain plugs, exhaust bolts, studs or nuts, and on pins and shafts and such as where the pin passes thru the trans where the hitch attaches. I got in the habit of using it while working on my MX bikes. On a bike the drain plugs and cases on them usually of dissimilar metals and or exposed to heat or lots of moisture.and I never stopped doing it. Depending on the part such as suspension I would even mix some with the grease too.

2 pointsI'll get you a futon and some bean bags! If you have one of those telephone reels in you garage bring it. We need more tables!

2 pointsGeno, If you got any engines in the deal, look for a K241 AS as that would be the correct engine for that 1045 and a belt guard that may have remnants of 1045 in the off set. The belt guard is a bit different and only came on a 1045 and 1055. Should look like this one...

2 pointsYou are right about the area where the rock shaft is mounted should be beefier, but I don't think that would account for the cracks in the upper dash panel where the steering wheel comes through. The original owner rarely used his snow blower or plow, as they both look practically new, and I'm guessing that 90% of the time was mowing. However, if he had an uneven or rough lawn, a lot of flexing could account for the cracking.
-
2 pointsFINALLY! I did it!! A one day perfect record! Wait a minute ........I think I did that wrong
-
2 pointsMig weld the cracks. We used to keep copper blocks in our tool boxes; i.e.: 2" wide x 1/2" thick x 6" long. Clamp the copper piece behind the crack, then weld the crack. No blow outs, no blown holes. Nice looking, no excellent repairs buckrancher!

2 pointsI have had more than a few requests this year for the xi series decals. I finally got a NOS RH Hood decal and have created a set of custom Wheel Horse decals The template has been modified just a bit and the I used a carbon fiber background in this design. I need the correct dimensions for the rear fender decal so I can replicate it and also images of any other decals used on these tractors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2 pointsSanta brought me the ability to do this from home. Powdercoat. Sure will come in handy. This is my first ever batch and I am happy with the results. Need to fine tune a few steps but for my first attempt i'll take it. These are misc snowmobile parts for my sons future 1st sled.
-
2 pointsWell I scored big on this totally cool garden tractor! Probably the coolest garden tractor I have seen in a while! I had no idea that Santa was a garden tractor junky like all of us!

1 pointYes as said before it bolts front the bottom into the pan on the right side. And YES on the mid frame B series tractors they used a J bolt on the front right corner as there is not room to put a bolt in from the bottom on that frame, but only the B's with the 10 hp and I think that was only 1974 Here is a pic of my sons 1974 B-100 auto, you can see how close the engine is to the front of the frame, because the frame is shorter, and there is no room to install a bolt from the bottom with the axle there.
-
1 pointAs you are sitting on the tractor.....The left side has bolts going through the engine base and through the frame with nuts. On the right side, the back hole has a bolt going UP through the frame into the base. The hole you are showing in the photo gets a "J" bolt that has the nut on top of the engine base and the "J" under the frame. Where are my manners.....
-
1 pointtt well I did not have to pull the dash pulled the 2 bolts from the pto bracket unhooked the throttle cable slid the bracket of the throttle cable. installed the switch in that hole tt pointed out, oh had to disconnect the pto rod no big deal installed the wiring put her back together and whala bug eyes well thanks to you tt no more holes and looks really good thanks to all who gave me suggestions I really appreciate your help dave sr happy new year to all you guys

1 pointI wish it wasn't too late to make a change on the WV/Texas A&M game. I had no idea that Clint Trickett was not going to play do to too many concussions. That dude was a gamer and a big reason I thought they would win. I see that WV still is a betting favorite but I'm not feeling it! Guess we will find out.

1 pointIf its flawless that's reasonable. If it was a mower it'd be spot on. Pushing dirt and snow for 10+ years with a 700 is cause for concern.
-
1 pointTry checking the points... maybe they came loose and unadjusted themselves... Just a suggestion
-
1 pointDoes anyone think the rock shaft could be the cause??? Picking up or pushing up attachments has to cause a lot pressure on the hood stands of all models.....I always thought this area should have been beefier
-
1 point312a has an Eaton 700. They're not as durable as the 1100 found in the tractors with "H" labeling, 312H,314H 520H, etc. Looks like a nice clean machine. It's easier to acknowledge a fare price. So what's the asking price?

1 pointSome will be sold, some will be added to the collection. I don't know a lot of details on parts or tractor condition yet, I only have 2 of them running and still have no idea what I have. Today has been a hectic day and haven't had much time to spend on them other that trying to finish unloading, and still haven't found a place for all of them yet...

1 pointI would like to wish all the members a Merry Christmas full of hapiness and good health. I would also like to thank everyone in this forum for the years of valuable instruction, advice, support, and countless hours of great entertainment. Without the people in this forum this hobby would definitely not be as fullfilling or as rewarding as it is. Cas

1 pointYou did real well. The Cub 1100 is a wimp, Briggs engine with a Peerless transaxle. Not the Kohler or heavy duty cast iron rear found in all other Cub garden tractors..Its funny because they look just like the normal Cub garden tractor. When I was into Cub Cadet's you couldn't GIVE one of them to a Cub guy. Black Sheep for sure.

1 pointI am currently doing a resto-mod on an 18 Automatic converting it to a 23 Automatic, in addition I also hope to tweek it with some parts that are similar to those that were standard equipment on the LSE models. Hence the name 23 Automatic LSE. I am planning on documenting the reassembly for posting on RS. Mark

1 pointMaking a little more progress. Got the seat painted and mounted. Bought new cables for the throttle/choke and installed them. Found a couple of small parts that did not get painted and took care of that also. If the snow holds off till January and the temps stay decent, I might get it done in time! I'm waiting for a couple of wire terminals so I can finish the wiring harness and install it. Planning on buying one of the aftermarket carbs instead of rebuilding the old one. Need to order decals and some new knobs, etc. So many things to do and so little time/money!

1 pointTurned the big 4O today!! Had a great day as I took today off and spent most of the day working on my loader. Then went to pick gabby from school and we went to a very nice dinner with family and friends. It was very nice and the day went better then planed! So I stated off nice and early and got the brackets welded on the bucket. Then started to make up some brackets to hold the new stainless line on the loader Started to make up the new lines Ran out of stainless tubing, so I pulled the tractor over to chain fall and lifted up the loader with the new bucket on to see how it looked It goes a little higher then I want, so I'm going to remove 2" out of the lift cylinder rods. This is the hight that I want it to be. Not to bad for 6 hours of work
