17 pointsWell, today was a blast to be a Dad. Little background. I have three kids, 10yr boy, 7yr girl, and 5yr girl. My girls have yet to get into tractors (other than enjoying riding in the trailer)....but my 10 yr old has been bitten bad..... by the Wheel Horse bug. He has been to 9 of 10 Wheel Horse shows since he has been born and just loves them. If any of you spend time at the teeter-totter.....you more than likely have seen him riding his tractors there, because he goes through at least a tank of gas at the show....just on the teeter-totter. My Dad started buying and restoring Wheel Horses with him over the last 4 years. Every year they would get 1-2 tractors and restore them. Now he is up to 7!! His dream tractors are 420-LSE and a 520-8. So....found a real nice 520-8 here on RedSquare that I got for his present. I got him a couple of other Wheel Horse presents that he got to open at our house this morning. Wheel Horse calendar, which featured my 314-H in the Snow for the month of January and the LED Wheel Horse light for his room. The LED Glass Etched light was posted on here the last few weeks from a member who had them made and I bought one.... and he really liked both of those presents. So, we went over to the grandparents house after lunch and everyone had opened their presents and I told him that he has a present outside....so this is were the video begins. 2 Stage Bervac 46 " Snowthrower and 520-8. The little smile that he tries to hide, just melts my heart. Here is the link to the video: So far today, he has over 1.5 hrs on it! Glad Grandpa buys the gas, Thad (Ohio)

9 pointsWell I scored big on this totally cool garden tractor! Probably the coolest garden tractor I have seen in a while! I had no idea that Santa was a garden tractor junky like all of us!

7 pointsI quickly used some rubbing compound with a damp rag, then gave it a quick coat of wax to see how the paint looks. It cleaned up pretty good. It smokes when you first start it but clears out after a little while. I think i'm gonna give the engine and quick rebuild. The transmission feels really strong. I'll see if I can con Ken into giving me a hand and see if we can clean up the paint a little more. Someone either broke or modified the brake pedal so i'll replace that. Otherwise that's it. I'll use it for plow duty when there's not enough snow for blower.

5 pointsWhat did I get for Christmas??? A smaller checking account! Probably the best gift I did get was a Chormecast device so I can play anything from my computer on my 50" TV. No wires, just click and enjoy. Makes watching movies from the net or youtube videos nice (and with surround sound). First thing I did was pull up some Wheel Horse videos on Youtube and the family started groaning "what have we done? He is going to be doing this all the time".

5 pointsSantawife had these made for me, I guess I will have to keep her. Must be a 1990s thing, that is the year of my Horse and that is the year we got married.
-
4 pointsI would like to wish all the members a Merry Christmas full of hapiness and good health. I would also like to thank everyone in this forum for the years of valuable instruction, advice, support, and countless hours of great entertainment. Without the people in this forum this hobby would definitely not be as fullfilling or as rewarding as it is. Cas

4 pointsI finished this tricycle just in time for Christmas, I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. It belongs to a friend's mother, she rode it as a little girl. I'm sure she'll be surprised when she see's it.... Many thanks to "Vinylguy" Terry Dennis for making the custom decal and to Glen Pettit for making the custom hand grips in the color and size I needed. Both the decal and the grips made this project turn out so much nicer than it would have without those finishing touches and both of these guys did this free of charge. I can't thank them enough!

3 pointsDuring my recent project I decided to build an engine stand for Kohler single cylinder rebuilds, this is what I came up with.

3 pointsI have had more than a few requests this year for the xi series decals. I finally got a NOS RH Hood decal and have created a set of custom Wheel Horse decals The template has been modified just a bit and the I used a carbon fiber background in this design. I need the correct dimensions for the rear fender decal so I can replicate it and also images of any other decals used on these tractors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2 pointsJeff Looking very good. I really like the look and feel of that style steering wheel. I have a new seat over here in the wrapper for you as a Christmas gift for all your help. It is not a 3 piece seat but one of the ones like on my 520H from ken.

2 pointsthanks all and I do know that i have a keeper in my wife. the tires are the first thing I noticed 1 is on backwards.... but I will be switching out the tires to turf tires all around my son and I are redoing a 654 and turning it into a round hood hybrid so some lug front tires will go great with chrome accents that he is planning
-
2 pointsWhat a gift! Those front tires would drive me NUTS! I don't mind the Ag tread but they aren't mounted the same ... Ugh...I'd be out in the shop/garage/driveway changing them ... but I'm touched in the head...lol
-
2 pointsVery nice! Its funny that two Wheel Horse guy's were working on boxes for Christmas. The smaller boxes I made are for Christmas ornaments or gift cards.. The bigger box I made is for me.....
-
2 pointsWork My 312-8 project has been slow as I've been rebuilding these two cedar chest for christmas presents. Wish I had taken some before pictures This was my mom's 1947 Dowry chest. many of the "hide glue joints had come loose. (but not enough of them to fully disassemble and reassemble it) It also had bubble up shellac coating. After a lot of gluing, clamping and lacquer finish it came out better than expected. This is for my new daughter-in-law. This was my wife's mothers 1940's Dowry cedar chest. It was in bad condition, but an interesting rustic build.. The lid has an interesting storage area in it. We suspect it was built by a bachelor/farmer in New Ulm Tx who had treadle powered wood working tools. My wive's grandfather had a licquor store/barber shop and he traded wooden items he built for liquor

2 pointsShe's crazy about them too! She hauls, loads, unloads, catalogs, pressure washes, shines, sandblasts, helps with painting and fabricating, and does other things to every single one that comes in here. She is even talking about her own truck and trailer now!
-
2 pointsMe... I'd have to put another steering wheel back there... for the Mrs Rules to do her usual back seat driving thing she does.
-
2 pointsI've built a couple of sulky's the last few years. Get a bunch of left overs and start fabbin! Here's one I made out of a C-160 frame

1 pointChanging trailer tires on the side of the road in the rain at midnight will do that Craig.
-
1 pointLet break that down, 30 horses divided by 15 hours = 1/2 hour per horse. Or 1000 miles divided by 30 horses not counting equipment and parts =33.3 miles per horse. Who's whining now,

1 pointVery nice PA Horse! A PA Horse is a Horse of course! We have a bill pending in the Pennsylvania legislature that will prohibit out-of-staters from taking Horses out-of-state. The bill will be retroactive back to '73. Failure to return the Stallion to PA will result in a repossession and very steep financial fines. Even long jail terms! I can drop off a clean MTD (needs a little work (tranny) but again, is clean!) and pickup the Horse, on the hush hush of course! Save yourself now! I'll even pay for the gas myself unless your guilt is overwhelming! Pay up, ignorance of the law is no excuse! Consider yourself lucky................this time.
-
1 pointI think what you are doing is great I would be doing the same thing if I had the time and resources keep up the great work
