6 pointsSantawife had these made for me, I guess I will have to keep her. Must be a 1990s thing, that is the year of my Horse and that is the year we got married.
-
6 pointsShe's crazy about them too! She hauls, loads, unloads, catalogs, pressure washes, shines, sandblasts, helps with painting and fabricating, and does other things to every single one that comes in here. She is even talking about her own truck and trailer now!

5 pointsI quickly used some rubbing compound with a damp rag, then gave it a quick coat of wax to see how the paint looks. It cleaned up pretty good. It smokes when you first start it but clears out after a little while. I think i'm gonna give the engine and quick rebuild. The transmission feels really strong. I'll see if I can con Ken into giving me a hand and see if we can clean up the paint a little more. Someone either broke or modified the brake pedal so i'll replace that. Otherwise that's it. I'll use it for plow duty when there's not enough snow for blower.

5 pointsWork My 312-8 project has been slow as I've been rebuilding these two cedar chest for christmas presents. Wish I had taken some before pictures This was my mom's 1947 Dowry chest. many of the "hide glue joints had come loose. (but not enough of them to fully disassemble and reassemble it) It also had bubble up shellac coating. After a lot of gluing, clamping and lacquer finish it came out better than expected. This is for my new daughter-in-law. This was my wife's mothers 1940's Dowry cedar chest. It was in bad condition, but an interesting rustic build.. The lid has an interesting storage area in it. We suspect it was built by a bachelor/farmer in New Ulm Tx who had treadle powered wood working tools. My wive's grandfather had a licquor store/barber shop and he traded wooden items he built for liquor

4 pointsGot a couple t-shirts, a WH sign (not old) a Bass -Pro gift card, Corvette desk calendar, new creeper for the garage and the MAC-DADDY of all my gifts......a genuine 1930's stop sign with the reflective marbles! My wife apparently pays attention when I'm rambling on.....I always say how much I like the "marble signs" that the American Picker guys find. Pic taken without a flash: Pic taken with a flash: Mike.........

4 pointsVery nice! Its funny that two Wheel Horse guy's were working on boxes for Christmas. The smaller boxes I made are for Christmas ornaments or gift cards.. The bigger box I made is for me.....

4 pointsVery nice PA Horse! A PA Horse is a Horse of course! We have a bill pending in the Pennsylvania legislature that will prohibit out-of-staters from taking Horses out-of-state. The bill will be retroactive back to '73. Failure to return the Stallion to PA will result in a repossession and very steep financial fines. Even long jail terms! I can drop off a clean MTD (needs a little work (tranny) but again, is clean!) and pickup the Horse, on the hush hush of course! Save yourself now! I'll even pay for the gas myself unless your guilt is overwhelming! Pay up, ignorance of the law is no excuse! Consider yourself lucky................this time.

4 pointsI am currently doing a resto-mod on an 18 Automatic converting it to a 23 Automatic, in addition I also hope to tweek it with some parts that are similar to those that were standard equipment on the LSE models. Hence the name 23 Automatic LSE. I am planning on documenting the reassembly for posting on RS. Mark

I would also like to thank everyone in this forum for the years of valuable instruction, advice, support, and countless hours of great entertainment. Without the people in this forum this hobby would definitely not be as fullfilling or as rewarding as it is. Cas

2 pointsAfter wrestling a few transmissions I decided there has got to be a better way instead of trying to balance on wooden blocks. So here it is, just a standard wire milk crate, cut out a few of the wires and the trans sits in it stable and easy to work on. Thanks for looking.
-
2 pointsI think I may have a problem. It's gonna take till this weekend to get it all figured out but here's a start. Sandra is gonna try to get all the numbers run today and a list of at least the tractors, they are scattered everywhere. The first 2 pics are what was in the room at his place. There were more parts outside the room and more stuff at another location. We haven't unloaded 3 of the truck beds and cabs full of parts yet so I have no idea what's there either. The only thing we did get unloaded from the trucks and in the shop was the 4 wheel wagon.

2 pointsIan you are really out there. Great video compilation. And Merry Christmas too!
-
2 pointsYour right Bob, that was a crazy game. We were needing to leave the house to go to my fathers for Christmas on my side of the family and we couldn't get out of the house! I couldn't believe that (almost) come back. Like you I give them credit for going for two as it was a gutsy call but I thought they had the momentum and would have the advantage in overtime. Guess we will never know and it's always easy to "coach from the couch". So far the bowl matchups have been very competitive and if the trend continues thru the big boys it's going to be fun!
-
2 pointsIf you want anything lit up (led sign, led wheel horse, etc), you just give me a hollar!
-
2 pointsMe... I'd have to put another steering wheel back there... for the Mrs Rules to do her usual back seat driving thing she does.
-
2 pointsSanta I know its late and you may keep the snow, I would just like you to find a way to PLEASE freeze the ground. Thanks Mark.

2 pointsCas (formariz) commissioned me to build a pair of Clinton 1200 series engines for him. Tonight I finished them and they both started on the first pull! Ran them simultaneously for about 20 minutes! Engines run really well. They had the intake and exhaust ports enlarged and polished and have a new crank, crank bearings, rod, piston, rings, valves, gaskets, seals, silicone plug wire, etc etc etc. They are quite powerful and could probably hold their own against any 6-7hp Kohler! Enjoy Charlie

2 pointsI finished this tricycle just in time for Christmas, I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. It belongs to a friend's mother, she rode it as a little girl. I'm sure she'll be surprised when she see's it.... Many thanks to "Vinylguy" Terry Dennis for making the custom decal and to Glen Pettit for making the custom hand grips in the color and size I needed. Both the decal and the grips made this project turn out so much nicer than it would have without those finishing touches and both of these guys did this free of charge. I can't thank them enough!

2 pointsYeesh! The politically correct thing to do, as most here will tell you, would be to replace the piston. I, however, understand how tight money can be most of the time, so, here is my suggestion. First thing to do would be to examine that piston skirt very, very close, to make sure there are no hairline cracks from the pressure of the vice. I would use a magnifying glass under well lit conditions. If it appears to check out, and you say it is below the ring grooves, take a file and "lightly" smooth down any burrs left from the vice marks. Use a piece of 220 sandpaper, afterward, on the area, to better smooth out the aluminum where it has been filed. You certainly don't want to score the cylinder bore. Main thing is to make sure that piston isn't cracked! If it is, and it comes apart, that would make for a bad day! If there is the slightest doubt about that, I would replace the piston.

1 pointMost definitely thank you guys. Outstanding work your efforts are appreciated. I must have looked like a 6 year old on Christmas morning. The calendar arrived as well as some awesome decals from Terry, a large grommet from Lane for my Suburban, A carb kit and a book on my truck. Way more fun than this old man deserves in one day. Merry Christmas to all!!!

1 pointI got the handlebars and wheels painted then sent the wheels to "Rideable Bicycle Replicas" in California to have the solid tires installed. These tires are cut to length, the rubber has a hole in it that a wire is inserted into. It's then installed, the rubber is pulled back and the wire is either twisted tight or pulled tight and brazed to hold the tire on. It took a lot of searching to find someone to do this, I'm glad I had this done by someone that knows what he's doing rather than try it myself.
