When I saw this, I knew if was for me. Take a look at the sign, although it isn't wheel horse, it certainly fits the bill. It will look good in a wheel horse display!

I just received a Christmas card from frank (bowtieguy). I don't even know how he got my address. Its friendship like this that makes this the best place on the internet! I know, some may think its a small gesture. But, it sure means a lot to me.

Thank you for letting me join! I recently bought a 1970 Wheelhorse GT 14 with a frontloader. It is my understanding that the loader is a fairly rare early model. The machine runs but looks like it was stripped for parts once; the dash, hood, firewall, console plate and other parts were gone, but the previous owner had ordered many of the missing parts. I have found a lot of maintaininace items, loose bolts and the like. The 3 point works. I am a bit surprised that there are no brakes, and was wondering if anyone had added brakes to their GT 14's.

It is about a month late but last tree dropped most of those leaves so had a job at hand today with my little helper....

Yea, I got one from him yesterday also. I met Frank back in 07 or 08 at the Wheel Horse show in PA. Super great guy, we contact each other on occasion but its been awhile, now that I think about it. That was my first tractor show and I think we had about a dozen guys there from this forum. Times have changed but there are some really great friendships that have developed from these little horses. Personally I didn't think the internet would be much....just another fad!!! Your paint choice depends on your resources, skill level and ultimate use of the Tractor. I used Strictly Rustoleum paint from Walmart- $3 or so a can- Red Oxide Primer- and "SUNRISE RED" final paint- although as it has been said- oil based paints take longer to dry. But- that said- they work fine if it fits into your plans, etc. Thanks- Al

No I didn't give my little boy his snow plow yet. Instead I treated myself to a Christmas present. . Though this one needs a little TLC, I thought it would be another good conversation piece for the collection. From my understanding these were promotional tools for the dealers if they wanted to purchase one. They did not originally come with an engine but many had an engine dropped in them so they could be sold. This one has an engine that needs some wiring help. Hoping to touch up the paint in a few places and just have fun with it. It is about time to reorganize the barn once again!!!

Heres my 856, found in a shed parked for 20 years, added some gas and a battery, she ran! smokes a little (going to rebuild the motor this spring) other wise just oiled her, painted the seat pan black and let her rip!

Nope. Had to cross three state lines so had a little bit of a ride. Here it is. It's going to work with me and gonna fire up our steam Jenny and give it a proper cleaning. Then when I get home it'll get some compound and wax to see how it really looks.

Most alkyd paints (oil based) need a hardener to be mixed with them. Otherwise, they can take as much as 30 days to cure. Even with a hardener they take hours to dry. That is why I spend the extra money and use acrylics which are dry in minutes and cured in hours. However, one serious word of caution. The activators used in acrylics, and the hardeners used in oil paints are extremely dangerous if breathed. Use proper protection when spraying any paint. The effects may not be immediately evident, but long term damage to your lungs and nervous system is possible. This goes for rattle cans as well. My rule of thumb is, if you can smell it, you are breathing it.

Thanks for the comments fellas. I think I have a lead on a 3 point, pto setup and a tiller for it. The stuffs really expensive but I'm way ahead on the price of the tractor so I still think I'm doin ok.

looks like 115207 { LED version ?} replaced all previous numbers / in all models which to me means they must all be interchangeable and connectors wired to be compatible ??

This was the mower I used when I was a kid to mow my dads lawn. I got it out of his garage this fall and clean it up a little and it is running great. It was sitting in his garage for the last 40 years

Went through this with a friend of mine a couple years ago. Yes it is a trying time. Keep up your spirits and try to stay busy as physically possible. Keep the faith and we'll keep up the prayers. Very nice. I don't have a gt14 but sure would like to! Not sure of model on the loader , looks like a 500 ark brand. Loader and 3 pt hitch can't get any better on a gt14.

Leaf season this year seemed like it was never going to end! There was too much rain along with some trees finally only giving up their leaves last week. I use my Cyclone Rake so I need to have them relatively dry. So, we officially had the changeover today. I had the chance to get the "Three Amigos" together again, and the first time with all three to wear their custom un-official MD Farm plates. Still to come are photos of the full Snow Crew for this year.

Wouldn't break my heart... if it didn't snow until next year.

I have been all day yesterday and today learning Corel X7 and trying to get this thing to suit me. You guys wouldn't believe how my head hurts. It's very close but not complete yet, there's still centering to do and I'm still playing with the B to L connection in Stable. We are also trying to do the phone # in a home made WH font to match the rest. These will be decals I put on things, ideas are appreciated.

Hey everybody, I'm new to the forum. I've allways loved small tractors and have been searching around for a while for a decent condition vintage wheel horse to use around the house. A guy I work with has a c195, looks to be in decent original condition, has a mower deck "not sure of size". It has been sitting in his fathers shop for years, doesn't run but still turns over freely and the starter works. He's asking $175 for it. I feel confident they with fresh gas and some points it will run. It has 68 hours on the meter, not sure how accurate this is. My question is; is it worth this price not running? I would like to find a loader for it, are they out there? Can you buy a new one for this model? Are parts readily available? Thanks in advance.

For your snow cab, VHT, and Dupli-Color both... have a red vinyl dye available. Both brands offer really great products.

I don't know you Firpo but hope and pray that you come through this with more faith and love. My wife went through breast cancer 5 years ago and she is now cancer free, keep up the good spirits and remember there IS a greater one in you than is in the world. A disc will work well at turning the soil if it has been worked recently. It will break up soil that has been turned with a plow or tilled within the last few months. There also good for turning a thin layer of soil over seads after there broadcasted. They will not break the ground much at all if it's virgin ground. Small discs with added weight will barely scratch the ground (one to two inches) even after multiple passes if the ground hasn't been worked in a couple years or more.

Yeah im gunna keep it. Best part was it was only down the road 2 miles. Only paid 35 bucks for it. The potato picker is a really cool add-on i wonder if that is original? Now all i need to get is one of the brinley slot hitch adaptors. And a set of discs or a tiller. Do the discs work pretty well? If anyone has had any experience with them.

Sounds like you got off easy on the bearings. I've read horror stories about getting them out. I have to do the same decarb and valve adjustments on my oldest tractor this winter. I saw a gasket kit on Ebay for Onan p220's with head gaskets and a few other bits. I've never done that job, so I'm not sure what else should be done at the same time. I'll watch you do it first, and learn a few things!

It's been a few weeks. This is the mower deck I'll be using for the 520H. Model 78345 42" SD. I picked it up about 3 weeks ago. I took it apart and cleaned it up. I wired brushed the underside and used Permatex Rust treatment and EZ slide. I polished and touched the deck up.I hope the EZ Slide holds up. I used it on some other mower decks and it seems to work. I don't know how long it will last. Time will tell.
