Seeing so many of the good artistic or Wheel Horse themed pictures that have been put up in the I thought it might be fun to have an artistic picture thread. I know I've seen some clever photographers out there who capture fantastic moments in time. Let's see them! Members... if you like what you see, be sure to let the poster know by hitting the old "Like This" button over here on the right! I'll even get it started.... I don't have anything as fancy as Craig, but I really liked this wintery scene I took several years ago.

Just wanted to say thank you to all the veterans here on this special day. You guys are what makes this country great! Who knows where we would be without you.

There is only 1 Squonk...see if you can pick him out of this line up??? It is almost like catching a picture of Big Foot...and most scientists would say that the picture has been doctored...but I will say this is Squonk and the picture is original.

This one was only 20 minutes down the road. This tractor looks to be all original, if it really is it's one of the better ones I've seen. He said he had problems with the carb on the original engine so he put a Kohler Command 14 on it a few years ago. Got the tractor, 48" deck, original engine and mount, extra mule drive, electric clutch setup, some other misc parts, 2 sets of chains and another plow and mount that I really did need. The engine on it now runs good but gonna try to get the original one back on it to check it out. Would this be considered a super C or not?

Serviced the 701 today, oil change, newer battery, general tightening of belts, fresh grease, etc. The yard needed one final mowing, so I managed to get about 2 hours of "seat time therapy, which was well needed! Before I started mowing, I took the rear wheel weights off, cleaned them, and changed them from linen beige to regal red. Had been wanting to do that for a couple months now. I likes it! Yesterday a old man stops by my house and want to sell his Wheel Horse. Long story short I follow him to his house. about 1mile north on my street. we strike a deal. It's a 1973 8hp 4speed. got the motor with it.

I bought this with the intention of using it. It ran great, but it did not move. I figured the hydro was shot, It did not leak any fluid like when I had to replace the hydro pump in other d series I own. I figured, since Ihave to pull the motor, I should give it a paint job and clean up. The pump was fine, it was only the coupler. Here is how it turned out.

With so many questions about where this great country is headed there's one thing I've never doubted and never will. I can remember a few yrs. back when I finally got to meet Mike at the BIG SHOW. I stood up, shook his hand and asked him.. Ok now, what the hell is a Squonk? We all got a good laugh because I think most of us at our campsite were always wondering but never asked... I'm not too sure who took the picture outside the food shack but I always get a good laugh when it pops up and I thank you for it... Here you have a highly respectable Mom n Pop, (the look on Mom's face tells me Mike might have just passed some serious gas though I know he denies it!) two hapless wander'ers and The Squonk!

That's less like a snow blower and more like a snow rifle. You might get 50' with that thing! May have to up the RPM's on the auger though... I would love to see it in action, either way!

If I could figure out how to do that I would have bought more tractors

bought a new steering column tube from mcmaster-carr cut it to size and put a slot one end like the original for the column clamp put the new soft plug in the end the top of the column was missing the trim cap so after some measuring I bought a 1/5/8" brass soft plug and drilled a clearance hole for the steering shaft I also got a spring for a willys jeep column and a bronze bushing to take up the shaft size difference from the jeep to the senior ready for the trim cap and steering wheel Brian

I wanted to give thanks to Glen for the awesome front wheel grease covers he sent me and I really like the top spindle covers too there a great idea I'm always having to wipe everything down after a good greasing now its not as much as a hasel if you haven't bought a set maybe you should give it a thought

No thats an old one. It is still torn down. Lots of work to do in it yet. However the Kohler runs like a champ! Im yet to get one of the Techys running by itself without some type of assistance.

I second what Ken has said, Run quick run Geno probably isn't that far away and we all know how he's been scarfing up tractors! Get it, I have just picked one up here a month or so back they are awesome tractors. Good luck

I'll throw a couple into the mix. Also kind of curious if anyone might have a photo of Karl doing the parade from the Big show where he's riding around in the back of the wagon shooting the parade? Ok that's out there. Martin you have quite the undertaking by taking on this. Go out and snap twelve pictures of your sweet tractors and there ya go! Good luck John

I used a combination of a couple of the ideas here. A puller like pacer posted and a hammer as Craig mentioned. I soaked it for several days with PB Blaster and tried every day or so. I probably could have wacked it harder with the hammer to get it off quicker but I was in no hurry. Finally, one day it popped off so easy it startled me. You know, like lifting an item you think weighs 50 pounds but it was actually only 2 pounds.

I've spent the last weeks of summer getting this little darling ready to go. I got it off a JD from a scrapyard in Minnesota for $350. 400 pounds of solid steel, tempered glass windows, WIper, defroster fan. Mice ate the wiring, so I had to rewire, and added front floodlights. The original cowling around the hood didn't fit due to the muffler. I made a new one out of Lexan, and am waiting on molding from McMaster-Carr rated to 450 degrees. I don't think the exhaust will melt that, but we will see. Mounting was a PIA, but I was able to modify the front mounts by reinforcing the footrests. Mounted to the frame, there was too much sway. Moving the mounts farther apart solved that problem. The rear sits on the seatpan for sway control, but most of the weight is in the rear hitch. I am doing the best I can sealing out the weather, and the vinyl matting over the footrests will solve most of the problems when fully installed.

Sorry to here about that Kerry. As Craig said lets hope the man up stairs has some better plans. As for Sears I hate to see an Icon like that go but if there dancin with the Devil and treating people terribly then maybe its time for them to get a taste of their own medicine. the top steering column bearing was shot from years of weather intruison I found a upper column bearing for a willys jeep that has the same column ID the difference is the jeep uses a 7/8" shaft and the senior is 3/4" so I pressed a flanged bronze bushing inside of it to change the shaft size to 3/4" have the two shafts pieces welded back together used the good bearing and races out of the allis B in the steering box when I reassembled Brian

Well, I couldn't build a new shed - but I let the neighbors know my interest.

I can remember the day I took this picture.. My wife just pulled in the driveway while I was in the middle of taking it, She gets out of her car and strolls over to me and says, you have five of these? I thought you only had one! I told her nope, there are more than five because the other half is still in the garage! She then replies that they all look the same to her and that must be why she thought I only had one. My wife has ZERO interest in tractors. The only thing she can't stand is when gas or exhaust fumes find their way into the house. I used to have a 69 SS Chevelle. Now, that she really enjoyed! We would often take it to car shows and she would quite often take it out on her own...
