10 pointsI bought this with the intention of using it. It ran great, but it did not move. I figured the hydro was shot, It did not leak any fluid like when I had to replace the hydro pump in other d series I own. I figured, since Ihave to pull the motor, I should give it a paint job and clean up. The pump was fine, it was only the coupler. Here is how it turned out.

10 pointsFinally all the tractors are put away for winter storage! Took all the batteries out and added fuel treatments...Even made room for more tractors.....

5 pointsIts really something special to see how Brian and Craig came through for you Mike. I can tell by the smile on your face that you recgonized it too. A day like that should make you heal faster. I hope you are feeling even better today!

4 pointsThats crummy news, sorry. I hope she can find something even better than what she had! I do hate to read about a "big" store such as Sears going hill down tho as it just makes companies like Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes etc.. that much more powerful and they wont have to try as hard to please us consumers with less competition out there. My closest Home Depot is almost right next to a Sears Appliance and Hardware and they both sell the same sorta stuff and it probably forces them to be careful how they price stuff. But if the Sears was to fold up you can bet that the Home depot, with no nearby competition, will be able to up their prices and offer less customer service cause they are the only big home hardware store for a few miles. Unless I have to, I find it quicker and easier to stop at a local hardware store on my way home from work. I pass a "Do-It-Best" chain and an Ace Hardware. I can get in, find the couple items I need and be back on the road in less time than it takes to roam the parking lot of Home Depot looking for a spot without a lumber cart sittin it! And the hardware store guys are way more knowledgeable and available than the HD folks. Just my opinion of course.... Mike.............

4 pointsMany of us on this forum probably think Brian was really lucky to have obtained this tractor. I,however disagree. I think this tractor was really lucky to have found Brian!
-
4 pointsI think most would tell you from the forum to drop everything now, even if your house is flooding and go get that thing! Its a rare model and a little harder to find parts for but for the price , I would buy them everyday at that price.

4 pointsThe candle has been lit and placed before the "Crystal Blueberry", which has been placed before the "Mystical Happy Plant". I have worshiped Thereupon. I have consulted the "Shaman" who inquired, "What is this football you speak of?" And I am now Indiana "Jones'n" for a perfect pick week.. And my picks are: Iowa, Temple, Ohio St., Rutgers, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Michigan St.

3 pointsAs some as you may know. I had a little Medical issue a week and a half ago. With winter approaching I knew it would be a challenge to get tractors ready for winter. Craig (AMC Rules) offered to come over and give me a hand. And when he found out I was looking for an older tractor to plow snow at work he offered me his 1267 at a great price. He drove the 5 HOURS ONE WAY! today. I needed a plow for it and Brian (buckrancher) had one and after driving from CT. and back yesterday he brought it up this morning. Both the tractor and plow needed some love and good old fashioned thrashing to make everything work. We filled all the tires with RV antifreeze but 1 of Craig's tires he wanted filled going to need a tube so out the fluid came. Stevasaurus called in on Skype and brought Jim D. along. We had a mini M & G going with a ton of laughs. We even got the plow on the tractor!!! Wife made chili and brownies and we let Steve and Jim know what they were missing. I can't thank Craig and Brian enough for all the help and Steve and Jim for the back row heckling. Here are some pics. I even got Craig on Elvis! I called it Sqonk Fest instead of Squonk Fest because SOMEONE has trouble with the letter U!

3 pointsthe top steering column bearing was shot from years of weather intruison I found a upper column bearing for a willys jeep that has the same column ID the difference is the jeep uses a 7/8" shaft and the senior is 3/4" so I pressed a flanged bronze bushing inside of it to change the shaft size to 3/4" have the two shafts pieces welded back together used the good bearing and races out of the allis B in the steering box when I reassembled Brian

3 pointsOK...I think I have this Skype Gallery thing figured out. These are shots taken through Mike's computer camera by me using what is called "video snapshot" while logged into Skype. It was a great day talking with Mike, Craig, Brian and Jim. Except for the fact that I had to watch them eat, I felt like I was there. Thanks guys...always good to see you. The trick is to save them to your computer pictures and then copy them into Red Square.

3 pointsIf the fuse blows that quickly I would bet you have a wire that chaffed and is shorting out to the chassis. Its hard to tell you which one at this point, but starter/solenoid power wire is a good start. P.S. Its not encouraging people to help you when you start out by demeaning the brand of tractors a whole forum is dedicated to that YOU came to for help. I understand your frustrations with it, but we have 40+ year old tractors on here in perfect running condition... It has less to do with the brand and more to do with the care it has received.
-
2 pointsHey everybody, I'm new to the forum. I've allways loved small tractors and have been searching around for a while for a decent condition vintage wheel horse to use around the house. A guy I work with has a c195, looks to be in decent original condition, has a mower deck "not sure of size". It has been sitting in his fathers shop for years, doesn't run but still turns over freely and the starter works. He's asking $175 for it. I feel confident they with fresh gas and some points it will run. It has 68 hours on the meter, not sure how accurate this is. My question is; is it worth this price not running? I would like to find a loader for it, are they out there? Can you buy a new one for this model? Are parts readily available? Thanks in advance.

2 pointsHave you ever checked the air in your "stable" with an LEL meter? With all that gasoline in one location with breather caps, I wonder what concentration of VOC's you have in there!

2 pointsFINALLY!!! The Fruits of Sqonkfest 14 can be revealed! First the Kohlers And then the Teckys
-
2 pointsIf you don't, I've got an xi that is taking winter off that could be put to work. Overloaded? How about: three snowblowers, a snowthrower, five plows - and don't forget the shovels. My big decision is: "Do I want to walk or ride?"
-
2 pointsHello and I would also drop everything and go get it! I'm going after a C175 here in a few minutes or I would head that way.
-
2 pointsI'll drive up from La to get that --- come to think of it, you better hurry or Geno will get there ahead of you. Seriously, that should be a GREAT deal, go get it.
-
2 pointsI dont know if the xi will ever get the snowblower put on it this year. Remember at the end of last year I picked up that tall chute snow blower for the 416. I might just put that on the new to me 520, and let that handle snow chores for the winter. I am thinking about that onan torque,,,,,,,feel like checking it out. Seems I am overloaded with snow removal equipment. Glenn

2 pointsIt seems that the typical bad to good formula is something the media won't share... Meaning we need to push out 100 bad stories before we even push out 1 good story. Crazy.... How about Sean Considine? He went back home to Byron, Il. Opened up a portable meal truck...... On game night at the Byron football games, you will see his truck there, providing FREE food for the fans! He also uses the truck through the week as what he does now, but that is a story, you will not hear about. Rob
-
2 pointsIt heartwarming to see what Aaron and Annie are doing. We only seem to hear about the bad side of people. There's no doubt in my mind that far more highly visible people do wonderful things and share their good fortune with those that need it than there are the <insert whomever, you get it> in this world. Thank you for sharing a wonderful story.
-
2 pointsI agree with Bob...no idea what all those acronyms mean or what you and your team do. But I do understand working in Hawaii as I work there a couple times a year. Just got back a week ago from a two week stint in Pearl Harbor, probably be back in January (great time to not be in Connecticut/New England!) Mike..........

2 pointsYou have an Escalade too! So Is Geno the Cutlass of the south or are you a Geno of the Northeast? You were here first, but Geno talks more

2 pointsWith my minimal knowledge of football I don't dare try to think that deeply about it. That's why I have my analysts. I didn't tell them about the doughnuts cuz they'd throw all the picks then. I'm going to say the Irish by 3 TD's at halftime. The backup's will be playing most of the fourth quarter. The turnovers have to stop sometime......don't they?
