Thanks to one of our members (thanks again , Ed) my Chor Trac has a cousin to share the stable. I also will be able to use the case of orange paint I bought before I found out the Chor Trac should be all red! It is a 1949 Simplicity Model L. Even though only two years separate them, there are engineering improvements on the '51 compared to the Model L. One of them is an extra gear (referred to as Low-Low) and the different style of frame. Things seem to come in three's for me, so I guess there is another Simplicity/Montgomery Ward/ Midland in my future. If it is a Midland, I will be able to post it at the top as Midland was acquired by Toro.

Cheer up guys. Geno suffers from OCD, Obsessive compulsive Disorder. I have a feeling this is not his first bout with this disease and he has had his hand in many other fads long before he discovered Wheel Horse. Like all OCD sufferers, this too shall pass and he will move on to something else. He simply can't help himself right now. To him, Wheel Horse Tractors are like Alcohol to an Alcoholic. When he tires of this, he will dump all those wonderful machines on the market at once and we can get them at fire sale prices. Gotta love this guy.

I can vouch for Ken as a quality member on this site. He's one of the best guys we have and my personal dealings with buying stuff from him is second to none. He's a true gentleman and a huge asset to us on here. I wouldn't hesitate to buy his used underwear if he said they were good to go....lol

Guys- No plans for indoor facilities however there are 3 doors and a few windows going it.... Today the men were here installing rafters. They did not work yesterday. Tomorrow they should have the rafters finished and start installing the t&g decking. A week from this Saturday I have another crew coming over to help me install the standing seam roof panels. Anyone interested in stopping over I need to install the siding .... I finished all the curtain drainage around the building and then graded off the ground. I seeded and placed hay over it then rolled it. I would think that in the spring I may have to till and reseed the entire area around the barn. We are simply running out of grass growing time fo rthie year but wanted to get something growing. Here are the updated pics.

Here are photos of my 653. It is 100% original. Even the carburetor looks like it has never been touched. Although not currently on tractor I believe I may have the original battery that came with it. Also not pictured is a never mounted plow with the hardware still in the sealed bag. Tires still have a lot of the "knibs" on them. Cas .

That's a nice tractor and not to be rude or anything never every point out problems or say something is crap when the person(s) you got it off of are on the site IMHO talk to them first before you put it up for everyone to see.

I'm gettin' worried... you seem to be accruing a whole lot of them half a tractors John... not planning to jump ship on us RU?

I have parted out a few hundred WH tractors, there is no saving all of them, and it funds my hobby selling the parts, no I don't part out nice machines, but do part out usable ones, that is where you get good parts, a old worn out machine has little to offer in parts.

I think we need to have a meet and greet at ur place next year!!!!

I think you hit the nail on the head! I was the same way. Then I finally woke up and said what I am I going to with 7 plows, 5 snow blowers, etc. Thank god I finally got all of that out of my system!

I'm not sure I would buy a WH from CT anymore... All these horses being passed around the way they are, i think they might get a CTD (collector transmitted disease)!
  35. 2 points
Man, that one sure gets around.

I'd consider losing all my WHs a win if the EMP also killed all the stink bugs.

1979 c-101 42" plow has worked for the last 35 years I see no reason to change now + 2 link chains and 80 lbs. wheel weights. This rig has moved tons of snow here in western Pa. with no problems not going to stop now.

After pushing my old C100 up some ramps and onto the back of a pickup, I am convinced my WH could withstand a direct nuclear blast, not just the EMP.

Thanks guys... The plan is to clean and straighten everything out... turn it into a nice driver for the tractor shows next year. Finally got my vid up loaded to YouTube... "HD" files take forever at times to up load.

Someone asked me a couple of years ago how well my Craftsman High-speed sweeper worked, in particular on pine needles. I thought this picture sums it up pretty well:

You're a good friend dude. I think I may be beyond help in some things though.

just box up spare ignition coils or magnetos in whatever is considered "EMP proof" storage everything else on the c series is immune

I'll do my part, I could use one for grass duty.. hydro, 48 inch deck... what ya got?

I'd rather see one parted out than sent to junk yard intact. Once all usable parts are gone some stuff just not called for and a guy could just run outa room, then it's time to think about recycling, sigh and say goodbye ole friend

Today was a really good day. We were able to get all the framing in less the rafters. They are all loaded up on the top of the framing ready to be installed. They will be back on Monday. Jeff and Ken both stopped over today. Jeff had the day off so he hung around and helped out. Ken came over on his lunch break and we did a little tradin' I will post pics of what I got on my end in another thread. Here are the pics of where we stand as of tonight. The first pic shows Jeff (Fireman) up helping set one of the last beams in place.

Gotta be honest.... I have been eyeing the X595 model. Even though that is not made any longer, it is still holding it's value incredibly well. Locking front and rear difs. to boot! But I am not gonna pay what I keep seeing them advertised for WOW! Rob
