8 pointsSteve Hillesheim and his wife Chris decided to lay over in Streetsboro, Ohio on their way to the show in Pa., so Karen and I made plans to meet and have dinner with them at Rockne's this evening. We had a great time, good food and beverages! We then wished them a very safe trip on to the show, and wish safe travels to all of you going as well. Steve also presented us with a bottle of Blueberry Especial to take home. It's chilling as we speak for enjoyment later this weekend. Thank you Steve and Chris for a great evening!

4 pointsWell, I wish everyone a fine Show week. I cant get away and I am getting ready to start restoring my C161. It looks ok from a distance but is in need of real elbow grease, sand blasting and paint/parts. The seat is absolutely shot. Just the metal pan. So I may have over paid, perhaps in bidding war with someone on this site but I am now the new owner of a reupholstered Actual Wheel Horse seat. I figured it was worth it to ante up to get an actual seat. But thats just me. I am sure a Tractor Supply Michagan seat would have sufficed but I really like the look of this one. I imagine if I could get out to the show I might find something that would suffice but as I can't, I bit the proverbial bullet. Again, I wish everyone headed out safe journey. Aldon

2 pointsMy father has been looking for a riding mower for his seasonal campsite. After some convincing I talked him into buying a c-81. Its not pretty but its solid and runs good. It needed a pto to deck belt today so we replaced it. After doing so the engine would stall when the pto was engaged. I felt terrible after talking him into buying this one. Well a quick search here and everything was pointing at the seat safety switch. Turns out he pulled the fender pan off yesterday and unintentionally pulled off the wires. So with out ever asking a question I was able to figure it out which is a big relief for me. Thanks Mark

2 pointsI am bringing my buffer to the show.... Maybe I can open up a tractor detail business...
-
2 pointshydro - not just because i have one, but what you'd be doing mostly with a FEL is going to be a lot of back and forth.. a lever or even better a foot pedal would make that much smoother. just my 2 cents.

2 pointsBig storm came thru last night and as with tradition, a photo op of the fleet getting the yard work done before leaving.Half loaded the trailer waiting for things to dry out some. Lot's of sticks but nothing major. Ezra gets to sit out the job as he's going to the show.

2 pointsWheel Horse implements specifically for the slot hitch? Anything that needed to be able to lift out of the ground. Disc, Plow, self-powered tiller, Cultivator. The slot hitch is the one that came standard on the tractor. The regular trailer hitch was an add on, and designed to be installed with the slot hitch. Wheel Horse and Jacobsen used slot hitches before they switched over to the more common universal clevis (or sleeve) hitch that everyone else was already using. Manufacturers like Brinly used to make implements with both styles of hitch, but later changed to just making one and offering a slot hitch adapter for the machines that needed it.. I have and have used my slot hitch plow and slot hitch cultivator on several occasions. Would like to find a disc, but that one keeps eluding me.

2 pointsWe will be live broadcasting from a public place, there's no expectation of privacy. Also, I don't plan on hiding the fact that we're live broadcasting, and can put a sign out saying as much. We're not talking High Definitiion broadcast TV quality here, so unless you talk into the camera, no one's gonna hear ya anyway.

1 pointJust a short video of my "beehind." Actually this was the first time that I got it running. It won't pull-start at this point so I used an aux starter (1/2" SLOW speed drill.) This is top speed with the gear reduction hubs.

1 point"Is it okay to paint the regulator fins?" Function wise for them being able to dissipate the heat from the electronic parts inside? No problem at all. I would not recommend plastikote dip, but the cooling ability of the fins won't notice a layer of paint.

1 pointMaybe it was pricy but I wouldn't say you overpaid because that's what you wanted. There's been times when I see something on Ebay that I just 'have to have' and, barring insanity, I make sure I'm the high bidder. You soon forget the extra bucks you have in it. There's a lot of nice seats out there but that is one of the nicest. I don't have to tell you that you'll be getting a lot more comments about it than you would a generic seat. Looks great!

I could not tell as all I was looking at was the SENIORS Please post as many close up pics of the seniors once you get them unloaded and be very careful of that hood !! Are there any attachments for the seniors in that package?

1 pointHere is Tom Rupprecht/Scott Moreau's hitch on my C-105, and 518xi with the Heavy Hitch bracket (he is in Wisconsin) and two suitcase weights. I used this on both the C-105 and 518xi without chains this past winter with out a problem.

1 point"I love mowing for some reason" You are not crazy nor alone in your love of mowing. there is something magical about it. Nothing better than looking back on a freshly cut and level lawn. When I am mowing I really don't think of anything else and what ever problems or troubles that may have been bothering me seem to just disappear. In my lifetime I have found two activities that relieve stress and require my complete attention. Manicuring the lawn and Bass fishing. Unfortunately I do not have a lawn or a tractor anymore so lately it has been Bass fishing with my nephew. A long time ago when he was too young to drive I would take him top water fishing. Now I am an old guy and he takes me fishing all the time in his champion. I still miss mowing though. How many of you find yourself standing and looking at the perfectly cut lawn for more than just a few minutes. onlookers may wonder what the heck you are looking at but then they just dont understand. That is a great looking stripe cut you got there PMaine.

1 pointLooks like my '90 520-8 before I restored the poor old Horse. After a complete tear down, I sand blasted all before painting. New decals from, of course, the Vinyl Guy. Have fun with the project and be sure, we need to know and see, to post updates. Good luck!
-
1 pointDarn, and I thought I was the first to do it on a wheel horse. oh well, it will still be a fun build. I like how that one uses tracks just like the ford pictured above. I thought about doing that but it would be a lot of flat stock steel and I'm trying to do this on a budget. So far I have a little gas money and "pocket change" in to it!

1 pointIf you install new rings the end gap should close up some due to no wear on the rings. My opinion is that you should always change the rings when you remove a piston from the cylinder, just break the glaze on the cylinder wall with a dingleball hone so the new rings can seat in to the cylinder. Edit; just find an old portable dishwasher to plug in and hook up to a hose for shop use, let it drain outside or down the floor drain, you are only using it for a final soap and water wash to remove the dirt from blasting and machining, all of the dirty oil and grease mess was removed with solvent and properly disposed of before you sand blasted the parts.
