Doesn't it just frost you when you see all these posts about how excited everyone is about going to the show? Well this is another year of that right? Everyone's going but me.... So you going to do what you did last year? Yeah you remember, you came here, right here to waiting anxiously for....... pictures... Yep the generous guys who take the pictures. When those first pictures start to roll in, how do ya feel? Well a little better right, but still wishing there was more so you wait for the next one and the next one..... This year in conjunction with Terry from ReDoYourHorse.com will be streaming LIVE from the show! There will be at least one web cam established at the show which will be broadcasting live right here on RedSquare the show. Miss the parade? Not this year, we'll be streaming it live to you! Now don't get too excited, this is a first time trial effort, and we'll certainly do our best to get your show urges satisfied, but it will be the first time that the WHCC show is brought to you live!

I was re-arranging some tractors today, so I decided to take a family pic. Well I had to leave 7 out of the family portrait due to yard space and their current status. Enjoy!

Made a really nice find today, so I took a little ride and picked up a few new horses.

I finaly got a disc harrow, it was really rusty because it had been in the forrest for years.. covered whit some steel/roof plate's so ill just had to restore it so i can have it behind my suburban for show's etc.. so im prolly not going to put it in the dirt.. so here are a few pict of it.. Time to pull it apart to start clean it up and then i E tanked it and sanblasted it.. and primed the disc on it disc is getting the final paint and here are the other stuff primed and ready for red paint!! And finaly a few pict of how it is now whit new paint and stickers. hope you guys enjoy it!!

You don't. Once I get the tire mounted, I hold the rubber part of the stem with a small pair of vice-grips, then remove the tool, and inflate. Once inflated, the vice-grips are removed and you are good to go.

Yes the good old stove bolt motor and the 2 spd "Glide with the whine" My family all had Chevy's with the whine when I was little. I thought all cars were supposed to sound like that. I had a 67 Corvair about 25 yrs. ago and brought the whine back!

That is why we have more than 1 Wheel Horse....1 for each attachment!

My son in law's Mother just dropped this off at the house for me. Her husband's Father recently passed away and this brochure was found in his files.

This holds the valve in place while you install the tire. Remove this tool and HOLD the valve stem with 1 hand and air it up with the other hand!

I think this is very cool, but I am concerned that I will look fat on TV. I hope you guys at home just love listening to Kohler engines run all day...there is a ton of background noise with all of the people riding around.

I contacted the fairgrounds, there is NO internet service. Of all the major cellular providers Verizon has the best service there. Terry purchased a Verizon Jetpack and RedSquare donated a bunch of data for the plan. I intend to bring my MacBook Pro secure it to a tractor in the RS area and stream via the built-in camera and mic. So that's the plan. Will it be broadcast quality like the olympics? Nope, but it's the best that we can do. The Jetpack is a wi-fi hub BUT it shouldn't be opened to everyone. With hundreds of internet capable devices at the show, the data would be consumed in a heartbeat. I still need to talk with Terry exactly how we'll coordinate everything, but this is the high level plan. This is NOT intended to replace the pictures or other video's which everyone will take and post, but to give a live view of the show. Best quality? Probably not, but it should be leaps and bounds above previous show live feeds!

Welcome to the forum. I second, third, fourth.....etc., everyone who suggested doing a thorough cleaning. Do replace all the belts. In fact, go through the entire machine and address all maintenance items. Make sure all fluids are clean and full, tranny filter changed, grease fittings greased, pivot points and linkages oiled, etc. Pulled the blower sheet metal from the engine, and blow out the cooling fins, make sure air can move freely across the cylinder. Take the seat and fender pan off, and clean the tranny top to bottom, and underneath. You may even want to remove the rear wheels for access. When the wheels and seat/fender is off, there isn't any part of the tranny not easily visible. Once clean, the leak will be obvious.

So I know what some of you are thinking... Yeah... BIG DEAL, I'm working no way I can watch anyway.... Well... part of the inspiration comes from Ian. Now, Ian is an interesting chap. He seems all rough and mechanical (and he really is a master crafter) but this guy is incredibly brilliant with video (and everything he touches), and if you haven't seen them, you are missing something. So anyway, Ian was messing around with YouTube and live streaming with the added effect that the video is retained for later viewing. So work... rubbish, watch when you come home, fast forward like Tivo, but most of all enjoy like you're there! I really hope that this works well, other wise I got some explaining to do!

Yep, we lost a lot. Good news is while cleaning out our loft, I found a bunch of them on CD's. Really was fun to see these kids when they were that small, wish I had better backups earlier. I do now.... Oh, there was mention of off-site cloud type things. While I have no evidence the company I work for strictly forbids us from utilizing such sites because of security concerns. It's a major issue if we do, so there must be something to it, and my company kinda knows computers.... I'm sticking with the multi copies within my house. While a fire certainly could take out my data a data breach at the cloud vendors seems more likely to me.

I'm bringing me and 2 of my kids and staying at the grounds thursday - saturday. Looking to meet more of you this year and sample some of Steve's wine I hear so much about!

hooked up the battery to check out all the electrical. its amazing how everything just 'works' with good wiring and clean new connections. i still need to paint the lower dash plate and shifter plate, but for the electrical test i just installed some gauges and the switches and hooked the wiring to the back of them. the hour meter i cleaned up and will be kept as its original to the tractor and has the correct hours on it, the volt meter is not as nice as i would like and will probably get replaced. Switches were cleaned up and tested earlier..... Terry has already got my decals as close as humanly possible to match the oem ones here..... i think i need to come up with some sort of decal for the battery too, looks a little bare with all the standard decals ripped off. still need to get the air cleaner lid rechromed.... tested out the warning lights, oil blinked like it should too.... i was lucky both the rolling 416s came with good indicator boards with all lights working. also got a muffler heat shield from a member here limited12, thanks so much, Tommy! heres a few more, I'm getting impatient, i want to fire it up and go........

My first car was a 1960 Chevy Bisquane (sp)...2 speed slush box trans with a 235 straight 6...but this what I used to learned how to drive...wore out a few pair of shoes trying to stop this in time.

29th Annual Antique Engine, Tractor and Toy Club at 233 Bowers Rd., Wm Delong Memorial Park, Bowers, Pa. 19511 Midway between Reading and Allentown Pa. Dont blink or you will miss it.... June 13th - 15th 2014 This years feature tractor is Wheel Horse. I am trying to spread the word to see how many Horses we can get to show up. Friday is setup day, and cruise night till around 8:00 PM. Sunday is the Garden Tractor pulls. The pulling sled is made and designed by our local wheel horse / toro dealer. ( Kunkels Saw and Mower Shop) Good food and entertainment. Lots of hit and miss engines, tractors and tools. Flea market area in the park. I plan on bringing down my GT14 and my John Deere A. The GT14 is still in her work close but thats ok. I have not found the time for the restore that it needs. I use it to much...lol. So dust off the tractors and bring them out. Just a few. I always mount the tires so that the marks if any are on the inside. A little touch-up with a small brush takes care of that. Sent from my Moto G using Tapatalk

Thanks for all the nice comments. In the pic is close front row RJ 58, 400 Suburban, second row front is a 401 Suburban with plow, 704, 733, 602, 633, 854, 1968 Commando 6, 1976 C-120-8, 1985 312-8. Missing from the pic is 701, 855, 702, 1968 500 Special, 400 suburban,1974 C-120-automatic Tecumseh, 1975 B-100 Automatic. Way to many. Prolly need to thin the herd a bit soon, but trying to pick which ones is the hard part..

Blower if nice with the weights and chains come winter in my area is a $500+ set up, the tractor if runs good looks to be a $300 machine, offer $500 run it till the trans dies swap in a 1100 unit or buy a bigger machine with a 1100 in it.

Time constraints said I shouldn't have but I just had to know. I spent a bit more time on it putting the left cover on with 1/16" gaskets on both sides. The inside measurement between the sides is.......6 1/8" . I loosen the cover and it frees up everything. A straight edge shows me the differential is a fuzz below the side of the case without a gasket. The brake shaft has just a touch of play so it's free. I'd have to say again, the rod thing is definitely the way to go now. Gotta see what's going on. As soon as I can get back on it I'll definitely post pics. Oh yea, my wife came home last night and told me she has some vacation time locked in from Sept. 27 through Oct. 12. What a coincidence, that sandwiches the first weekend in Oct. . Indiana here we come!

I declare the David Bradley finished today, which happens to be my fourth anniversary on Red Square. For a project I expected to last a week it took two months. Now it's time to get back to the Wheel Horses. Here is how it all started.

I had several of my Wheel Horse's at the Centerburg Farming Festival last September when a family came along and were asking if i did work on any WH's for other people. I said yes and gave them my business card. They called me a few weeks later and I met up with them at their house to check out their 10 year old son's WH's. They had 3 or 4 around in various stages of disrepair. Seems the boy can take stuff apart but not too good at putting it back together! Lol! Well they finally got around to dropping off one of the kids WH's, a 1964 job. It had a bunch of stuff wrong with it and a junky Briggs motor that the previous owner had installed. A bunch of parts were wrong and a bunch more were missing. So they wanted me to see if I could get it running and fix it up a bit. Well my buddy and I fixed the motor and got it running but the governor was messed up. It ran ok but it searched up and down rather fast. We tweaked the carb and that helped a little. Mean while I did a bunch of painting and scrounged up the missing parts. It also had a ton of cross threaded bolts from the boys lack of wrenching talent. So I had to tap out that stuff and replace alot of bolts. We pretty much left some stuff like he had it, like the rims and muffler pipe, he said he put some bling on it! But the paint turned out pretty good and everything works as it should now with the correct WH parts. I even installed a nice 704 decal from the famed but hard to get ahold of Ed Mayhew. I finished it up this weekend after 2 weeks of wrenching. I parked it in my driveway when they were due to show up so they could see it right away. They pulled in and saw it and they didn't even know it was their tractor! The boy was freaking out when he saw his bling muffler on it and he told his dad that it IS our tractor Dad! The dad was freaking out too and they were talking back and forth about how awesome it looked! That was the desired effect I wanted! We talked about what all we did to it and finally the kid got on it to start it up for the first time! It ran well and he took off and rode all over my yard playing with the choke and throttle's. As he cruised it around his Dad was grinning from ear to ear as well as the kid too! He asked about the amount owed and he didn't mind paying the $235.00 at all and said he has another tractor he wants me to fix up. It is a 1969 Model 700 with a Kohler engine. So he dropped it off the next day! I gave them a big price reduction just to get the kid more into Wheel Horse's and to be a nice guy as well. So here is the finished product! A pretty descent little 704 with an electric start Briggs motor! Hopefully the kid don't take nuttin apart on it this time around!

I like the older ones better with the head facing the back. Just tip it up on it's front wheels to change oil, sharpen blades etc. With the head facing the front it makes servicing alot harder.

i installed matts foot pedal kit on a 416H for my buddy tony. it had the column mounted lever previously. what the heck was wh thinking back in the day with that contraption! it took me most of a day to install but, one word AWESOME!!!!! wh should have done this. now that i did it once i could easily cut the install time down considerably. MATT IS DA MAN!!! mike in mass.

Not sure if this is the proper spot to put this. A couple people have been asking about the trailer I use to haul my Wheel Horse. It is a custom-built drop deck trailer. All I have to do is pull up in release the safety and swing the spring up and it drops the deck to the ground. No need for ramps. Here's some photos. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Like Mark said James , we hope to get give everyone a chance of hosting a Wheelhorse gathering as it makes it only fair that everyone gets a chance of using their local show as the venue. I am sure that the northern wheel horse gathering is going to be an excellent show , sadly I can't make it is I will be attending the wheel horse show in America

Not TSC's fault. Valspar was forced by the EPA to make changes to the Restoration Series to lower the VOC. They instead decided that they would stop making it rather than reformulate it. So TSC was forced to find another vendor. Unfortunately, Majic was a poor choice to replace the VRS paint.

If you are mixing paint and dont like to spill thinner from those hard to pour from metal cans I have a solution. I took a plastic quart oil container and cut a 2" hole in the side, cut out the bottom and sliped an o ring over the spout. Presto, hands free operation of funnel and no mess!!
