Its been 6 months I've been dealing with this guy and he finally decided to sell his little RJ35 .He's one of thoses tough guys that don't like to sell anything. The worst part about this tractor its been sitting outside wasting away. So finally we came up with a price and the tractor came home with me. Cool little tractor i like the cast iron steering wheel.This is nice addition to my collection.

Found a nice little RJ 58. It was still owned by the original owners family. So I guess I'm the second owner? It has not been used for 20years but stored in an old wooden barn high and dry away from pickers till I come along. I do believe the only thing missing is the serial # tag. Shields are all accounted for. I did get the mower deck and snow plow with it. Just thought I'd share, so excited to have another one.

Mods I hope you will allow this in the Wheel Horse section as I bought these with the intention of one day being able to mount them on a Wheel Horse (unless someone wants to buy them more than I want to keep them). Anyway, these were in the back of an old woodshop (stored indoors) on propeerty a friend of mine recently purchased. Its a nice set of Sears equipment. Any rust you see on the plow or blade just wiped right off with my boot after the pictures were taken. The Sears tags are still attached to each piece and in great shape as you can see. I think the tool bar got some use, and the rake got a little use, but the plow and scrape blade were basically unused. Here are some pics. What do you guys think I need to mount them to a Wheel Horse?

Nice score! Those mount to the Sear's 3 point. It's a CAT 0 but I think that the lift arms and center arm are proportionally smaller than the normal size (think GT 14) CAT 0 arms are. I may be wrong but that's what I think I remember!

I run my bolts from the out side in. If one gets loose, worse thing that could happen is I'll lose the bolt. I did have one loosen up once. Now I use lock nuts on them.

That frozen block of ice needs to be thawed out!!

Hi all, I'm a super newb here, as in this is post one. I've looked around this fourm and this seems to be the place for all things Wheel Horse. Here's my question. I need a decent lawn tractor and my old farmer neighbor has this Wheel Horse tractor in his barn ( he bought from the original owner,his neighbor, another old farmer who became too sick to live on his own). Anywho, the tractor looks and runs pretty darn good for an older tractor. It would come with 2 42" decks (rear and side discharge) wheel weights, chains, and a snow plow. Being that I'm a know nothing...is $1000 out of the ball park? Plus I kinda like the old guy and he could use some help with money. Please let me know what you fine folks think. Hi I'm Dave!

Those are the ones that are so hard to find. That is a perfectly preserved survivor. IMO any type of repainting or restoration to something like that one is a sin. Clean it up with some soap and water, get her running right and enjoy !! (If you were Clay-RJ35 Hunter you would not even clean it) lol

Feeling your pain Don. This last Monday, got off work early cuz it was snowing too much. Came home, warmed up the Bobcat and went plowing,'AGAIN!!!!". Made it to the end of the driveway(after plowing the whole yard). Started pushing the road plow wash back and blew one of my hydraulic system flushing lines. Being so intelligent as I am, I tell myself" I can make it back up the driveway (its 400' long). NOT!!! Hyd oil spraying like a fountain. I went about 100". Lights go on, Bobcat stops. Luckily for me, it blew towards the top. So, an hour later after cutting the line and putting a plug in it. And putting in 10 gallons of hydraulic fluid. I limp it up to the shop. A new hose, and filter(being as I carefully sprayed all the fluid all over the machine AND my driveway). I figured, I may as well change the filter too. Funny how that works, isn't it?

remember that you both have to live with the price,so if you feel comfortable at 1000 then that's all that matters,in the end you have to live with your neighbors and to take advantage could jeperdize a good neighbor relationship,up where I live in Ontario,thats a good deal with all the goodies,newer model,not crazy amount of hours,the nice thing is so many tractors have parts for that model,somethings from the 70,s models will fit all the way to 2007,that means that it can be kept for along time and with a place like redsquare,ebay,craigslist,tractor shows,for parts and attachments,toro still has lots of nos parts still available too,enjoy your new tractor

Yes Mike I have a wheel horse, it's a 1076 automatic. I almost had another one this past summer but somebody beat me to it. I love the older tractors, the new ones are cheap (not dollars of course), I like REAL STEAL not tin. And I love working on them.

I have owed at least one of each of them attachement, the back blade is worth the most at about $150-200 the rest of them about $100-150 each, PLEASE don't cut them up, the SEARS guys would cry just like on here if you see a WH part cut up.

I got ahold of 3 of those blades last year and sold them to Sears guys. Yes those 3 points are cat 0 but a narrow dimemsion.

The quality looks very good. I would assume they are genuine. What I have found is this. Back when my 1986 F-250 diesel was new and "still in production" ford parts were 100% genuine. When I bought the truck in 1999 and began fixing it, the truck & engine were "no longer in production". The parts I got at the dealer did not match in any way the geuine parts I took off. The heater core was a cheap mexico one, and I had to have the parts guy run a search for NOS parts across the county. We found one at a dealer left over since 1989 and I had them ship it, exact and very high quality. I bet the fact the K series and Magnums are out of production at this point, the parts kohler provides are second tier.

Just a small update. I recieved the rest of my parts in the mail yesterday: I have the transcase cleaned out and ready, picked up new differential bolts (grade 8 with nylox nuts), installed new axle bearings and seals and tonight I'm gonna work on getting it all together! It has been a nutty winter. Here is what things look like now. It seams every time I get ready to go I have to clear the snow first. I have more seat time on the C100 and B60 than I have in the last 5 years! Oh well, seat time in the winter is always good too. Tthe forecast is calling for 1" of rain tomorrow so things might look different and I might have to spend some time clearing the snow tonight so my garage doesn't flood. There is a big pile of brush on the right side of the driveway from the ice storm we had over Christmas and there is a pile of logs from work as well that will have to be moved before it rains so the water will run into the field beside me and not through the garage!

I can tell ya... the first time you put a RJ35 in reverse will be the last, The screaching sound will haunt you for days, LOL!

What a season it has been.... You all have contributed so many great photos and videos of what will be remembered as a winter for the record books..... Some of you have dealt with the white stuff more than others.... I know Illinois, Buffalo, and Pennsylvania all got hammered this year. Other states that barley would see snow, saw snow and freezing rain several times this year. Texas, Tennessee, the Carolina's...If I were to give an award out for the "best" rigged Garden tractor, I think it would have to go to...... DUKE!!!!!!! His video shows it all....I would imagine after the comments he received, we may see an 8-track player in next years video....... I hope to see a few more photos or videos, but if not, THANK YOU ALL for the great memories...

Haste makes waste, I wish I would keep that in mind. Glad that is the only damage but not to be selfish here, I am also glad Murphy left my house for a visit to someone else for a while. I know he will be back because I think he lives here. I have tried to evict him several times but he keeps telling me there is some kind of Law that lets him live here.

Well, some good news! The fuel shutoff valve was seized in place. I twisted it back and forth a few times and it broke loose. When I cranked the engine over I noticed the fuel flow through the fuel filter was constant and had much more volume than before. The engine fired right up and ran like it should whether at idle or full speed. Regardless, I am going to have Scott's dad go though this machine completely. It has oil leaks, the fuel lines are old, the plug wires look old, and it needs a brand new paint job and body work. It should be neat to see what it looks like done.

Just from a couple pics I think you have a very workable tractor. That hood looks very straight. You should be very proud to get one of those.

Hey Garry, tell your NAPA dealer to get in his books and learn something! SKF bearings (Napa branded) uses a suffix to determine whether the bearing has 1 seal, 2 seals or none. Example 6205, 6205J, 6205SJ, 6205RSJ. These would all be the same bearing with a variation on the seals. I take the parts business seriously, I retired from NAPA in 2012 after 23 years. Hope this helps.

Just came in...thought I'd get a jump on it before I went into work. Wasted time and gas though...more snow fell in the hour I was out there, then was there before I started.

I'd like to hear from anyone in PA, Tennessee, GA, North or South CA. I am sure someone would have, at the least, some good photos and possibly a nice video?????? What say the horse fans in that area?????

Hey Guys! I am new to this site, but I absolutely love Wheel Horse! My Grandfather and Father both had them while I was growing up and besides being in love with them and keeping the tradition alive, at least one is a must. I have been searching for about a year and a half so I could get my own WH, but I have not been able to find one for a fair price that would appease my wife and the pocket book at the same time. Well, in my recent hunt, someone just GAVE me a running 312-8. That's right, gave! It does burn a little oil, it appears. Well, with the snow that was coming over the last few days, I knew I needed a plow. So, I found someone on craigslist that was selling a 312-8 with a plow, cleated tires and deck. He asked $300 so I got it for $150. I think th motor is shot, but I have been robbing parts and pieces to fix mine up cosmetically. Long story short, I have my plow installed, those tires on mine and have been plowing snow like a fool! Bought some chains and we are in business. Eventually, I would like to restore it top to bottom. it is a 1993 made in South Bend, IN.

Here's Marvin minutes before the the mower deck lift bar to chain bolt fell out causing the bar to drop and lifting the rear tires off the ground!

Heres part 2 of the snow team…my 1973 18 Automatic with a 60 inch blade... Its at my Dads right now because we just finished fabbing the the plow linkage and installed the factory front wheel weights but I plowed 7 inches with it yesterday and it was like it didnt even know it as there. I wish I could have gotten it to the farm here with 14 inches of snow coming,[attachment but the Charger 12 will have to clear the half mille driveway

Wow, I am constantly amazed at the amount of help and information I get from this forum! Bear with me as I do this, I have never gotten into anything like this before and I am gonna take my time and do it right! Thanks Dave for the pics and description. THanks also Hodge, I just read your post and it makes a lot of sense now that I have mine open. I spent a lot of time today cleaning the work bench and getting ready so that I have the room to do the rebuild keeping everything in order and keeping it clean! I'll update as I go .

There are several threads on sundstrand overhauls. Your does look pretty good. Since you are this far in there seem to be some scratches on the slippers (the piston like things). I would take them out one at a time (they need to go back in the same hole) and dress them on some very fine wet/dry paper and/or crocus cloth on a piece of glass (for flatness). Also pull the acceleration valves and clean them and make sure the tiny (and i mean tiny) bypass hole is clear and the springs are not broken. She looks good.

I use the bike rope/pulley hangers in the off winter seasons to hang my cab up by the ceiling in my garage. In the spring, the bikes come down and the cab goes up. I can walk under it without banging my noggin, of course a tall ceiling is good to have too. -BK

Well operation Harrison Elementary School Tractor club has begun! I took an early morning drive yesterday to meet David Rice (RCTruckdaddy) I believe that is his RS name. He was nice enough to meet me half way. We swapped the tractor over on to my trailer and then had a great conversation. Headed back home and let her sit. She is a great candidate for the kids to get dirty with. Most of the parts it needs I believe I have on the shelf, but there are few things I don't think I have so I may ask if anyone has those items available for a small fee. Many folks that follow along on my Facebook page "Wheel Horse Junkies" have jumped in to lend a hand. Terry Dennis (Vinylguy) has willingly offered up a new set of decals for the machine. Bud Andrews is going to get me squared away with a new battery when the time comes. Daniel Aungst is sending a gift card to TSC to help me with costs of materials. I am trying to work with some local groups that would be willing to chip in as well so I don't have to cover the entire project out of my own pocket. Our first meeting is this Wednesday after school. We will be focused completely on safety as I continue to round up the much needed parts for this. The kids will get a chance to see the tractor for the first time and we will talk about how we are going to tackle the project. It should be a lot of fun!!!!
