1 pointNice find Craig, I like that color scheme with the black incorporated into the hood best. Unfortunately horses are hard to find in OK...

1 pointOnly a little. The tractors I have with the KT17 engines do not get used much so I just keep the oil level at the top of the mark or a little over. I just start them up and run them a little every now and then. All of my workers are ONANs. My main mower is my 520HC. I did have a starting problem with one of the KT17 IIs at one time. I was over choking and really flooding it so much that raw fuel was increasing the level of the oil in the crankcase. After that experience I always check oil level regularly and always make sure the level is at the top mark or a little over. When I was flooding the engine, the oil level got way over because of gasoline getting into the crankcase. If I did use the KT17s for work I would overfill a little, check often, and try to never let the level get below the top mark. I also use straight Rotilla 30W in the KT17s and I do not run them in the winter. Here are a couple of discussions on the KT17s for some background: http://www.mytractorforum.com/archive/index.php/t-61008.html http://s6.zetaboards.com/Only_Cub_Cadets/topic/8523012/1/

1 pointWe'll have to ask Karl that question, I've never used that feature. After uploading my video to youtube, the last thing I do is sign out of my account... then use the back button to go back to the video...I can then cut and paste the link into my post here... this allows viewing the video without being signed into my account. If you need any help, when you're ready... PM me, and I'll walk you through the process. You'll be suprised...ii's really easy to do.

1 pointTry starting up a free account with Youtube instead... I think you'll find it much easier to work with than Photobucket. Should be a setting on your new camera that enhances image stabilization too.

1 pointAs my wife would say, "And there's the dog!" It's amazing how many hounds end up in our videos

1 pointNice tractor there Mike If you have anymore chrome plating to clean (possibly the breather cover) you might try simichrome. Not as cheap as aluminum foil but I've done 3 wheel covers 2 applications each . I've been given a small tube by a friend to do my hubcaps, use sparingly doing small areas but so far it serves my purpose. It does not get rid of deep pits but other spots are looking real good. @bay search will show you. I've received 2 more tubes in mail yesterday . I'm sure many other products would suffice also. Thats a nice horse

1 pointOnly the Series II has the oil filter option. For the Wheel Horse application the port has a cover plate on it and it is in a tight spot for a filter right behind the PTO. A remote would be the best way to go if a filter is added. As long as the oil is changed regularly no filter should be needed. If the Series I is going to be run on inclines an extra pint or two of oil should be added to the crankcase. Some recommend extra oil no matter what the application is.

1 pointI'm pretty sure the pin goes through the middle hole. The tail of the mounting carriage should be on top of the pin.

1 pointI fixed both of my engines with bushings from someone on ebay. I little drilling and new brass screws and less than $15 for both 14 & 16hp Kohlers. Great fix!
-
1 pointI made front & rear winch mounts for my WH. By pulling 1 pin, I pivot the winch mount forward, so I can raise the hood. The picture was taken, before I bolted an eye bolt at the top, for a pulley. Works great. In the rear I use it to raise a tine dethatcher, I use to collect pine cones and needles.

1 pointSomeone said America will be a great nation until the politicians discover they can buy your vote with your own money. There are a lot of generous people in this country,I pray folks will see whats slipping away, before it is gone. The greatest country ever and people in high places are intent on making us just another country.

1 pointWe moved into our house Dec.31, 1969 and that is the only year we didn't decorate for Christmas. Over the years we've added a few things. Our town has had a lighting contest for quite a few years and we finally entered it this year and won first prize. We received a nice certificate and a nicer check for $500. That will almost pay for the electric bill this month..................

1 pointCraig, I would remove the original fender pan, wrap it in bubble wrap, and tuck it safely away somewhere. Only when its working days are done and its time to be a show Horse would I put the original fender pan back on.

1 pointYep, that's the fill plug. Oil capacity is 1 1/2 Qts. I usually fill through the gear stick hole so I can get more solvent in there to clean it all up, and it goes in a lot quicker and there is less of a chance of making a mess.

1 pointThanks, I appreciate it! I'm very sorry to hear about the very frustrating issues your having with your crawler. I hate it when things go like that! I do realize that $300 seems cheap when thinking about the necessary work to fix the old ones, but when you don't have $300 you do what you have too. Thank the Lord, I'm not going to have to go threw that, as my friend has some good used ones he's sending me. Thanks Martin, I consider that a great compliment coming from you! I'm very happy to say my friend had a set of good used cast iron spindles assemblies he's sending me! This deck would have been sitting a long time if I would have had to spend $300 on it. Things have been a little tight here lately. I will put new bearings in the spindles when they get here, as they're only $3 a piece. I got to spend a little time working on the deck today. I welded in a new baffle, as well as a few other pieces that had been broke off. This really is a very strange deck design. I have pictures of other decks to go on, for verifying the missing pieces. I know the welds are very crude, but I'll clean them up. I also rewelded around some previous repairs, that were done poorly. Thanks Matt

1 pointNot to but I'm going to so hand me a stick! There isn't a good running 12 HP WH Garden Tractor that is going to be under-powered mowing a hilly lawn. Honestly Glenn, when you asked all of us for our opinions, we are giving you what we consider to be our best choices mostly based on us being in the seat of many different WH tractor/motor configurations. But if you were a golfer and asked a site full of Golf Pro's their opinion about a swing, well, if you took all their advice, you would be lucky to even hit the ball let alone keep in on the fairway! A 12 horse power Wheel Horse with a Magnum or K series engine in good running condition with a 42 inch deck will do what you need it to do for a long, long time. If you see a 312-8 or 312-H or a C120 8 speed in good condition for a good price, don't hesitate to buy it. Naturally a 14 horse power Kohler is even better! Many people start out Wheelhorse ownership with an Onan-powered monster with the so-called advanced electrical systems or a D series monster with their own set of issues and they can be nightmares to folks not accustomed to cursing and swearing, woops........I mean dealing with and working around problems that really don't exist with simpler-designed C-Series or Kohler powered 300 series tractors. Just keep this thought when looking: A 12 horsepower K or Magnum series motor in a WH Garden tractor will mow a hilly lawn. I know! I mowed a very hilly shale bank lawn that far exceeded the pitch to safely mow with a C-175 and a C-120. Both tractors mowed it just fine. Both tractors had similar 42 inch SD decks and which tractor paid the price for mowing across and up/down my lawn? My twin-powered C-175. (Needed a top-end rebuild due to oil starvation caused by the hills).

1 pointi have bought quite a few duffers , sold them to get what i have now . I also sold a few that i didnt really wanna sell but i had to to get to what i ultimatley wanted . When looking , be prepared for longish road trips & dont be too dispondant when you get there it wasnt as nice as you thought , one day you will get there and it will be better than you thought . those are the ones that you keep & then sell on the duffers . iI bought one thinking is was really rough because the sale picture wasnt too good , when i arrived it was virtually immaculate , i still have it
-
1 pointI don't know...sold my C-160 this year. Then, turned around and replaced it with another RJ, a 603, and now the 1267. So much for making a little room around here.
