1 pointA good friend of mine gave me this dozer blade he had sitting back in the weeds a few months ago. I used it the other week to grade asphalt millings where he parks the vehicles (His 520 was a little under the weather). So I got bored this afternoon and it got the best of me. I decided to give it a quick make over. I sanded, primed, and shot it with magic IH red. Its feels good taking something from being a rusted piece of metal to something with new life breathed into it. :)

1 pointwell jake, i dont have a big load like you, but were all ready to go. just taking kents 875 this year. long trip and will be nice just to have one in the back of the truck and not be pulling a whole bunch of them...... spent a good hour cleaning the jacksonville dust off the 875 tonight and snapped a few......

1 pointI found a "92" 520. It comes with a 60 inch deck, a sno blower, weights and chains for 550.00..It has a little over 1000 hr's run time, couldnt pass it up. It gets picked it up this weekend. Supposedly everything works but the headlights and one taillight. I'll go over it, service it and sort it all out, it'll be dragging logs shortly, I hope...If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it, Walt

1 pointI've been talking about and trying to get a good pic of "Robbie" The giant dog my back yard neighbor's own. I don't want to be obvious when I take it, He has knocked down 2 fences on opposite sides of his yard and almost got a section of mine. I had to BOLT the fence section back to the post! I was in the shop yesterday and he got loose and came on in and scared the crap out of me. I was making my way to the shop after work and there he is again! I tried to get the phone out for a quick pic before he took off.Got my finger in it Still can't get a good pic! You can see my other neighbor's house that's been half painted for the past 3 years and the trailer they dropped in their yard a year ago and just throw junk on! Nice huh?? I'm moving to Maynard's Neighborhood!

-
1 pointthe satisfaction of preserving the original, along with the learning experience gained thru the restoration outweighs the benefits of buying a nicer one (if I could even find one)

1 pointIt's been super busy with work lately so after 12, 14 or 16 hour days it doesn't leave much time for anything but sleeping. I really wanted to go to Kent but was out of state last weekend. There's so much to do around the house that hasn't been getting done too but I'm not missing the fall Zagray show. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

1 pointSorry to Bomb this with so many pictures but as of tonight, it is DONE. (other than a jack) And you can see that it is hooked up and lights are "LIT".

1 pointOne of these years I'll make it out there Scott....probably won't be able to bring a tractor...but who knows, it's only 1300 miles....I've traveled that far for a tractor. (not really....but close ) It would only cost me about $455 (@$3.50/gal) to drive the wags there and back

1 pointI too wish I were closer... would love to join the party. I think that there may be some teacher playing hookie tomorrow !!

1 pointAs a former farm kid I can attest to living on a shoe string and digging through the dreaded "bolt box" for hours searching for just the right bolt to fix whatever broke in the field. And if that didn't work you could always melt a little bird poop on it with the stick welder. Those fixes may not have been pretty and they didn't last long but they lasted till the job was done and you could always fix it right during the winter (or next spring when you needed it again.) Dad is 75 now and still at it. The last time I was down there we went through 4 tractors till we found one that worked well enough to pull a piece of equipment out of the weeds only to find the motor locked up and full of water. Somehow Dad got that little Wisconsin running after a few weeks of soaking the bore with penetrating oil.

1 pointYou'll have to have this contest again someday ....My 1985 310-8 is in the process of a rebuild right now!
-
1 pointI would have to say me and my dads 308-8 is the little horse that could kinda the under dog of compared to it big bothers with magnum 8hp. but we work it hard when we got it someone tried to overhaul the motor and then left it sitting outside. now its back to work dad breaks it I fix it.
-
1 pointLooks like you got a keeper. I wouldn't worry about the trans, you know there's plenty of guys here who can help you out with parts if you break something. I enjoyed using my Suburban 400 in the snow. I used it one season for the novelty and looks from the neighbors. In my experience it did great. As you can see here, it worked good in about 3-4" of light powdery stuff. I just wished I'd have put on the pedal and rope to angle the blade... it was a little annoying getting off and on just to angle it by hand.

1 pointI think I am back on track, paint prep flub repaired! It is not as good as it should be but it will be under the tank stand. As long as I can forget about it all is good. I have to keep reminding my self this is still going to be a worker, I just don't like making mistakes. I know it is going to happen but I still don't like it! At this point the trans is primed, sanded and ready for color coat. I also realized I have not posted any pics of the tractor before I started. I already had a few things off since I snagged the tank for my other 310-8 and the hood was loose when I got it. . Going into PA tomorrow to pick up my hoodstand from Jdog's Horse Ranch! I'm thinking I should probably take some extra $$, who knows what else I may come home with.
