Had some time this afternoon to get the trailer cleaned up inside and got a quick photo of the three tractors we are bringing. Here they are.. If you see me riding around on one of these say hello! lol

I've saved my original post in this thread above. This list evolved into more than I ever thought it could be. I've had many emails and PMs from people thanking me for doing this list. Those messages have come from people who are touched in different ways by seeing a familiar name on this list. Some are related to the past proprietors of some of these, others just celebrate what this list represents as an homage to many small business entrepreneurs that had a dream and made a living. I thank you each and all for those messages. I celebrate with you those small business dreams. And I thank each and every one of you who have contributed to this list! I dated a Kohler K series once. She was smooth, kind of hard and heavy but had what it takes, low maintenance too. Now the K twins were fun and very strong! (Sad attempt at humor. I know, don't quit your day job.) -Mark-

Morning all, this story starts quite a while back when I replied to a "What would be your top 5 WH's?" thread late last year.. As you will of guessed a GT-14 was on my list.. The next morning I woke up to find a message sent from Neil asking do I want to buy a GT-14?? What a top bloke eh Neil had bought this GT only for the 3 point and rotovator to put on the back of his other GT, which is fair enough, and I already have one Wh with a 3 point fitted so I wasn't bothered about not having it.. Due to one thing and another and life getting in the way for both of us the GT finally arrived Thursday afternoon.. So how do you get a rather heavy and non running GT from the back of a van into my garden?? By Wheel Horse of course At this point I need to say a very big THANK YOU to Paul (compo1970) for bring the GT all the way from cider country to sunny Kent in exchange for a huge pile of Kohler twin spares.. Thank you Paul, it was a pleasure to meet another RS member.. The GT gets the in the shack. The plan is to put a tube in the flat front tire.. Get the engine running, it has no spark at the mo so my first port of call will be checking the points followed by checking the somewhat sliced and diced wiring loom that had been modified by the owner before Neil. And then just use it.. The body has a bit of paint missing, a bit of surface rust and a few dents... I love it and don't plan to change a thing.. No restoration here, just a check over, replace a few missing nuts and bolts, and give it a wipe over with an oily rag once in a while to keep the rust at bay. A few random photo's.. The dash panel has shrunk over time, I will replace it should a good dash come up for the right price at the right time.. The shifter plate has shrunk a bit as well, I will take this off and glue it a a flat bit of ally the same size and shape before screwing it back on. The exhaust needs a bit of a tweak I'm not sure if this isolation switch has been fitted to stop anyone driving off on it (not that it would be hard to bypass) or so the battery can be easily disconnected because an electrical gremlin is in the works and is draining the battery.. Neil did very kindly throw a cutting deck into the deal, but I forgot to take any photos of it.. So there you go guy's, I now have one of my dream Wheel Horses in my collection

I traded my Cub original for this beautiful piece of equipment. She came with the deck and push blade. Everything is solid and works awesome.

Well as of today I will be able to make this years show. I'll be riding down with John Fisher in his motorhome and either staying in his or Jerry's. I'll bring the 854 to ride on, that's the only one I've started this spring. See you all next week.

    Now you need two.

I had the same problem but not on a Kohler engine. To solve the problem I used fuel hose. It was able to withstand the heat. My next option, if the hose didn't work, was to put a "heat shield" between the muffler and the hose. Make the shield from a tin can. Give that a try.

Also the KT17 I heard is a long lasting engine in stationary use, such as a generator. However in the tractors, any angle you operate the engine at can snap a connecting rod. So unless you mow flat, use a different tractor for that job. My friend has a mint c175 hyrdo with a rod sticking thru it for mowing sideways.

Please trust us when we say HEAT is your friend. Quick heat in one area is the trick.

Wow thanks everyone for the replies it was incredibly helpful i think i will end up going with the classic kitchen oem copies they look great on that horse catt. Im doing a "restoration" i used quotations because its more of a piece by piece facelift as i dont want my 520 down for more than a day or two at a time since i use it alot. Im just fixing things that i come accross that i see are in need of repair and repainting the metal a piece at a time i will post some pics when i get the floor boards done!

Phew - what a night. Blowing a two goal lead in the 3rd period then losing at 1am in triple overtime! These two teams are evenly matched and it should be a great series. I wish they would start these games at 7pm instead

Also, the longer wheelbase from the forward swept axle gives better stability with a front end loader.

Got the transmission back together and everything is running well. Smooth shifting and sounds great. But only took 1 quart of oil to fill it up. I think it should take 11/2 to 2 quarts,,,,right. Thanks to all that helped me with advice, parts, and video on rebuild.

I don't know how many from Texas will be there, but I'll be there Thursday to Saturday afternoon. First time to make it. Looking forward to meeting all of you.

In 5 days we will be hitting the road to PA. I am bringing the mugs and also a very good friend of mine who makes buttons has made us 50 button with the following artwork so we can identify ourselves at the show. the first fifty members who come and sign the member guest book will get a button that they can write their name or RS username on with a sharpie. Or just pin it to your hat or shirt. Still time to have a mug made if you have not requested one do so soon as I will have to start printing soon. Remember the mugs are no cost to members.

The 3 piece transmission #5010 takes the timken # 471643 for both the input and brake shaft with the ball bearings. I think Jake has these for sale. The 2 piece (cast) trans # 5007 takes SKF # 9815 for the brake shaft and SKF # 7410 for the input shaft seals Terry, the issue he has popping out of 3rd gear is the same in all the wheel horse manual transmissions...the inside of the 2nd/3rd fork gear is worn out and/or the top part of the input shaft gear is worn out.

Hi all, My dad purchased another tractor yesterday. Its a case 442, I'm not sure of the year yet. Its in pretty decent shape, I think it has been repainted at somepoint though, as I spotted some runs in the paint. It runs good with no smoke, but I need to put new bearings in the starter generator. I will need a seat for it, but think i might know were I can get one, It has the original seat pan. Well anyway, here is a link to pictures, I'm not having luck posting them for some reason right now. I'll try posting them again tomorrow. http://s1229.photobucket.com/user/jakekuhn/library/case%20442?sort=3&page=1

I just add fuel saver to mine and it sits that long and sometimes longer without an issue. Occasionally I add some Seafoam to the gas also. Maybe add a trickle charger to the battery if it's not newer.

If it broke off because of over tightening then it shouldnt be too difficult to remove - try bumping it with a small very sharp chisel in the 'remove' direction, if it dont move pretty easily probably better abandon that method. I think the best method is to have access to a milling machine or heavy drill press and use a center drill to get a starting point for the correct size drill bit to more assure you dont get off center. The welded nut is also a viable option with sometimes the heat caused by the weld 'un-freezing' the culprit. Whatever method you use, let us know -- hopefully successfully of course!!
