You should never mow more than 1/3 of the grass off at cutting time. Hurts the grass, will need time to recuperate. Sorry, studied agronomy years ago at Penn State. I mow whenever bored or whenever (or every time) the Grandson(s) show up. Those boys are WH fanatics! "The grass looks terrible Pop-Pop, we better mow! That Horse needs exercise!"

So far my B.I.L. and I have kept up somehow keeping 14 acres clean. He is retired so that really helps. My F.I.L .passed May 1st and He did most of the mowing but we are keeping it clean now for the M.I.L.

Here's my homemade sod cutter. I was going to get a single bottom Brinly plow, but I really just wanted to remove the sod, so I didn't have to till the grass and roots it into the soil for our garden. It worked pretty good. Cool thing is that I don't need a 3 point hitch: https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10201190038741917&notif_t=video_processed

First and foremost I would like to thank you all for your support and patience with Lola and I over the past 5 years. Through all the ups and downs. It has been a journey for sure. My customer support has been all over the place from terrible to excellent and you have always been more than kind and understanding. Thank You Now for the good News!! Due to changes in our lives and the graduation of our daughter who is now a registered nurse and gainfully employed, Lola and I can make some changes that will allow us to focus only on our Wheel Horse customers and one major client. This will allow our customer service to improve immensely. As well as allow us time to ride our bike and attend tractor shows. We will be transitioning from our shop to home over the next few months and unfortunately I am old enough to start collecting my RR pension soon. All these things will allow me to focus on the things that mean the most to me. Wheel Horse tractors and our RedSquare family of friends. Thanks again for all your encouragement and support over the years and I look forward to meeting many of you at the shows.

Its a haul for me too. Plus I have run out of room for anything else. Really I am going to have to construct another building before I can buy another thing with wheels and tires.

I'm looking for a few but. It's a 1200 mile round trip from north carolina to danbury,or to binghamton. I would be happy to get the ranger or the 633 for $ 400. But they would cost me twice that for me to get them home. A 551 with a front mount for $ 350. I would have given $500 without a second thought. I have tried all shipping options and the lowest quote was $ 412 from NY to NC.

If those were in my area, they would already be in my shed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Kevin, I haven't been to the show in a few years but when i did go it seemed like the prices down there were lower than what we were getting around here.

Your prices are great, if it wasn't for the 600 mile one way trip I would be all over the 1054 & 953. Good luck, just a mater of time, you may want to consider Ebay.

I'm really liking the Ranger, and I think your price is really good. Unfortunately, I don't have $400 I spare right now for it, at least not without the "boss" giving me the hairy eyeballs... :-(

Im lovin the 1054 right now. I am just hardpressed for cash. Your prices seem resonable.

I don't know if these are the ones you are looking for. If they are and are blurry, give me your email address and I'll send them via email. You are limited to the size of files here to transfer and I had to lower the resolution of these to send. Bob

I bit the bullet and bought a brand new 48" deck. Thought you all would like to see it before I get it all dirty.

The story goes that Henry Ford used to send his engineers out to the junkyards to see what was worn out and not worn out in the Fords that populated the wrecking yards. The story has it he asked his engineers to look at the items that were NOT WORN OUT and make then less robust (save money) so that all parts would wear out at the same time. Interesting concept. Then you look at the engineering philosophy at Evinrude outboard motors. They inspect every failure and increase the design robustness to prevent any chance of future failure in that same part. Also interesting.

You should take this opportunity to sharpen the blades before you flip it back over - save some time later on ............ Only joking. Glad you are OK That is crazy funny!!!!!!!! LOL

That would be good for the calendar especially if there is a pic of the whole tractor.

i went to a radiator repair shop where the guy made a 10' x 6' E-tank. he designed for doing multiple parts by have the supports overhanging the sides of it which are cover by rubber. he has the one clamp on the outside where he put a tab on it, and had multiple clips off the other side of the electrical connection for when he has to do more then one radiator. he told me that he tanked 15 radiators off small water cooled yard tractors at one time. only problem i see with that is most of us dont have that amount of room for a dedicated e-tank.

Heck, yeah! I just today managed to finish mowing my back yard for the first time this year. It was actually done in three stages over the course of 4 or 5 days. The first two passes were done with the deck raised (in the transport position), and the final pass with the deck lowered to where I usually like to keep it. And now it's raining -- I'll be behind all summer!

That's my plan too Russ. I want to get there early around 6 - 6:30. Wayne and Mike are going to save a spot up in the main field since they are setting up Fri and camping. The wife will be tagging along too, she really liked it there last year so maybe I can get her to finally take a ride on the 2 seater. She thinks I'm embarrassing for driving around at shows on "stupid little tractors" and maybe I am, but it's fun so I'll continue to do it anyway. Sure beats walking!

Hi all, Thanks for all your help. I had never seen that type of slot hitch that was on the RJ, it seems quite simple. I will have a go at making one, I'm sure I can do it even if it's after a few attempts! Thanks again, Tom

Very nice. A worry free deck for many many years. Just keep it dry and take it off and clean and service it at least once per year. I use my air compressor rather than a water hose to keep my tractors and decks clean.

I like the way you think ! I agree. Mike.......

Well that is $47.70 per year over a 30 year life. That's cheap!

I'll have to give him a call! Ok, so here she is decked out in her work attire. I've already taken one trip around the lawn, the deck cuts nice, and I haven't even sharpened the blades yet! Yes, I know dirty!

Tends to eat them up? Moist grass will devour the spindles... The best you could do with the deck is send it to me, just south of Allentown, and I will put it to the test. Before testing, paint the spindle housings of course. When you need your deck, call. If no answer keep calling, someone will answer someday.

hang it on the wall as a peice of art, and find an old one to mow with!

Looks like it should work, and if you want you can hook up the ground right to the piece because it can go underwater. But the positive cant. I would use it on the manual because with an automatic charger it shuts off after it is almost charged and drawing low amps, because it will think its a battery.
