1 pointI have a bunch of tires I need to mount, etc. so I thought I would spring for one of these mini tire changers at HF http://www.harborfre...nger-34552.html I know you can use screwdrivers, pry bars, hammers or whatever, but I got this on sale for $33 with coupon so I thought what the heck . . . I'm a tool guy. Started out with these two front tires on my lawn non-WH tractor. They both had leaks and needed filled every few days. If I have to go to the work of dismounting, I'm not screwing with a tubes when the tire itself is worn out anyway. Dismounting was a breeze and both tires were off no time flat Bead breaker works great. I mounted the whole thing on a bench and the top of the mounter is removable. Fix-A-Flat worked good for a year or two, but I would not recommend it because it gums up your rims and is a pain to clean off. I got these tires from eTires.com for $15 each. It's a non-WH turf only tractor, so durability/quality/etc were not a concern. Their shipping method is very simple, which I guess offsets the cost. The down side is they are hard to get re-spread for the bead to seat. At first I thought this would work good after watching YouTube videos (straps didn't do anything - Maybe if the tire was in a regular shape) MOV06359.MPG Maybe I needed more starting fluid or more ball$ (or perhaps God did not want me to die in a furious garage fire at the tender age of 47 before Olde Tyme Days) . . . so I decided to give them a bug hug while pushing air in with the valve stem core removed and eventually got them seated. After researching several forums I found that 303 Protectant (or the Turtle Wax version) was an excellent lube for various reasons. If your rim is clean you will not need tubes for the same reasons your car does not need tubes. CLEAN rim seat+good lube=leak free seal. Check it with water when done to make sure there are no bubbles. If so, beat the tire with a large poly or rubber hammer near the rim a few times. That may do it. If not, break the seat/CLEAN/lube/re-seat. Dip the whole works in a tub of water and make sure there are no leaks, Bottom line is for a little money if you want another tool to play with, it works pretty good. I think there is a YouTube video showing it's use too. I saw some reviews about bending the mounting bar, but I think if you have enough lube and are using it for it's intended application in the manner it's supposed to be used it will work. Hope this was helpful. Before you ask, if you have rim that is large enough to be placed on a regular garage tire machine . . . don't use this. I take mine to a local garage and have the tires on/off in minutes for few bucks (or free if you have a friend) :orcs-cheers:

1 pointHi guys, Finally a new tractor in the collection of my own. It is a pretty nice 867. It has been repainted at one point, but the body is nice and straight. I think this one will end up getting restored in the future, I tryed all summer to get a decent 65-72 but I bought hydros and don't plan on doing that again after dealing with two terrible leaking trannys! This one ran great last fall but my fuel pump gas gone bad so I need to have it rebuilt. Everything on it is in pretty nice shape other than that, even still has the cigarette lighter. It has a decent logo seat on it as well, and I just put a brand new headlight lense on it. I purchased this one from my dad as it came in the big lot of tractors he bought last fall and It always seemed to call my name. LOL Well here are some pictures of it. ~Jake has some neat tail lights on it!

1 pointTwo more pictures he just sent me: My lawn isnt very big, about .5 acres so i dont really need a huge tractor or anything. I dont plan to plow with it as i actually find shoveling snow kinda fun.. (weird) about the only other thing i'd use it for other than mowing is pulling a small garden trailer. My push mower is a 4hp tec. engine one that i converter to propane and made a stack for it with 3/4 in tubing, pretty neat. I always like the wheel horse brand even though i've never had one, i'd like to use it and possibly restore it this winter. Any more opinions now that i've updated with pictures? These are 12V right?

1 pointI use the Stens metal head gaskets with the metal ring, and have never had one fail. They do require 2 or 3 re-torques after heating and cooling cycles, and clean un-warped deck and head surfaces are necessary. As a general rule I never re-use any head gasket regardless of material, they are cheap enough to not be worth taking any chances with. -Mark-

1 pointYou also should check that thr belt is running in the center of your small pulley on your tiller and on your the tension pulley on quick attach. I was having the same problem with my belt jumping off I shimed the pulleys with small washers no more problems.

1 pointGlad you've made it through to a complete recovery Craig. Now you can get back to your favorite activity... Anyone remember "Crazylegs Hearn" ??

1 pointWell don't know if it was a fluke of Nature or some oil that was leaking or what. I am not going to question good luck. I can tell you that I did put never seize on it when I slid the hub back on. Like GlennPettit said. I prepared for the worst and was delivered the best that could happen, and to think I drug out all kinds of pullers and assorted tools. Even practiced warming up with a few chosen words in case the vocabulary was needed. All in All a good day.

1 pointIm there every year. Always a good turn out of tractors. Last year had a Speedex Fg and a Wheel Horse Senior and people kept calling the Speedex homemade and the Senior a Power King.. Havent talked to Devon lately but i think my brother 46 Pond will be on the plaques this year. Not 100% sure but he was gonna see if the picture would work.

1 pointBuild a heated pole barn (100'X200') and then you'll have plenty of room to park your car in the garage.

1 pointI will be there for sure. It is just down the street for me, like six blocks. Been going every year since it started. When I only had two I just drove them down. I have been helping at the show the last four or five years. Look me up. If it is warm enough I will be one of the guys in an orange t-shirt. Hoping for some nice weather and lots of 's again this year.
