Replaced a axel seal on a Eaton 11 today. Now I was not looking forward to the hassle of trying to get the Hub off. Every time I have taken a Hub off I have had to use heat, pullers, hammers for gently tapping and some choice words on verbal persuasion to get them off. Now on this one after I got the set screw loosen up I happened to grab ahold of the hub and Wala it slid right off. I have never had this happen. So being the skeptic that I am I started looking for problems like a worn hub, worn axle maybe a key missing. Nope nun of these, everything seemed A-OK so I put it back together with new seal. So what's wrong with this picture never had this happen before. Planets all in line some special Karma floating around. Maybe I should go buy a Lottery ticket.

2 of my Grandson's came over last weekend and they were wanting to go tractor riding out in the woods. We haven't done it in a long time so I was pumped! It quickly turned into a mud run and my wife had her restored 653 muddy pretty fast! I had my 753 dually and it got a mud bath too. I hadn't got these tractors THAT dirty since, well never! Oh well, they both got a bath afterwards so no harm done, plus it was a blast! My 15 year old Grandson Dylan, took his 1962 Bolens Model 600 through some deep mud right down the middle of the creek! He was all smiles! He had it sliding sideways a few times and he was gunning the engine! He has been doing that since he was 4 years old so he is used to it. I kinda spoiled him and the other 2 also, hehe! Now I have a Granddaughter who is only 2 and has never been on a tractor yet. Papaw can fix that!

May be old seal leaked a small amount for a long time-just enough to keep inside hub and axle wet-keeping it free-Al

Left hand drill bits often work well, and if they dont then you have your hole for the easy-out.

Well, I ended up selling a 314-8 to my brother to make a little room in the garage. I thought I was one more tractor away from getting my car back in the garage.....and Wham!!!! 1996 50th anniversary edition 520H with 60" Deck and 422 hours popped up on Craigslist. I think I am going to have to put a block on the craigslist cause I have run out of room...... Thad (Need a vaccine to curb my Wheel Horse fever this spring, in Ohio)

Before the Wheel Horse show back in June, I was looking for an original seat for my Commando 8. Although I didn't find what I was looking for, I was sent various pieces of seats, which included several seat pans. Among the pans that I received was this one, sent to me by bowtiebutler956. When I went to the show, I looked around various vendors for seat parts that I could make a correct seat for the Commando. But while looking, I found that parts for the 3-piece seat were more available than parts for the Commando seat. So I purchased a pretty beat bottom cushion, several ripped covers for the top cushions, a foam insert to use for a pattern, an adjusting knob, and so on. I took the seat pan to my powder coater, and just picked it up today. Here's the result. After working on the cushions and upholstery for the last couple of weeks, I finally have my coveted 3-piece seat. Now I have a dilemma. The seat looks so good that I don't want to use it. Maybe I will just sell it and buy another seat from Northern Tools. :hide:

I noticed a nice looking RJ58? or RJ59? Wheel Horse Snow Plow as the seller called it, on Ebay last week. It was for a 1960 or 1961 WH Suburban though. It was only about 15 or 20 minutes from my house so I figured I would bid on it at the end which was in 2 days. It had an opening bid of $50.00 and a Buy It Now price of $80.00! I kept on surfing and figured out that I had better just buy it now and forget it. So I did and went to get it on Saturday. It is in great shape and hardly even used at all. The 2 feet it slides on are in great shape with hardly any wear and the bottom of the blade is the same way! They all could have been replaced over the years but they look pretty old to me. The seller said he never used it one time in the 10 years he has owned it along with the tractor it came with. He didn't know what year he had but thought it was a 1961 so I asked about the throttle and choke knob locations and he said they were 2 levers that were close together with a silver Id plate in between. Bingo, you have a 1960 and he said it had a 4 hp Kohler on it, so it was a 400. I asked if he wanted to sell the tractor and he said no way! Dang! But this nice unit will go on a nice original condition Suburban that I have waiting! Not bad for that price! KJ

Believe it or not guys my wife said she has to pull a trump card and not allow me to sell anything. She knows how miserable I'll be and how I will just go out and start to find more tractors and stuff to buy. I can't believe she actually said this to me. Good wife

The surgery took a little over 3 hours and the doctor said that there were no surprises. He made an incision inside my mouth and around my eye lid as to leave virtually no scar. The bones have been placed back to where they are supposed to be, and secured with some titanium screws and plates. I'm still quite swollen but my face is back to looking symmetrical. Unfortunately, the double vision is not fixed Today I have another appointment with a Neurotologist today to see if he can help with the facial paralysis. From there we're getting more doctors lined up. I have to say that I have the best neighbors on the planet. To make things easier for my family, they put their names on a calendar and take turns making a dinner for us 5 times a week. At first we thought that this wasn't necessary, but it has REALLY turned out to be so great because we are often being asked to go to doctors last minute, spend a lot of time on the phone speaking with people and there just isn't time to cook. These people are amazing and we're so grateful that they're here for us. Thank you all for the supportive comments, thoughts and prayers.

It turned out that they only did a regular echo. The girl said it looked pretty good, but the doctor would read it and forward results to the lung doctor. So i guess it's ok for now, till I hear something different. Thanks everyone for your good thoughts, prayers and concern.

the best way i found is take a peice of 2x4 drill a 1.5 inch hole in it then cut the board of in middle of the hole then put the flat end of the board againts a wall or tree and the cut end around the wheel were the pin is hold tight againt the board and use a punch with a little hammer will make them come out easy cuase it takes all the deflection out of it and makes it a solid blow on the pin and the pin will punch right in to the wood
