First, thank you all for the kind thoughts and wishes. I am alive but have a long road to recover. Today I saw the plastic surgeon who will very soon be operating on my facial fractures. This will allow me to fully utilize my mouth which I am sure some don't want me to regain. I am beginning to hear out of my left ear, but still not great. My face is still paralyzed and I will hopefully see some specialists in the next couple of days. That's all for now, as I have an eye doctor appointment.

Karl Not a day goes by that I don't think about you, your family and your current situation. It reminds me that life is a precious gift and one should enjoy every day of it. It got me to thinking about my wife and kids and how much I love them. It also got me to thinking about how I keep telling myself that next year I am going to go to the Big Show and meet many of my RedSquare friends. If I not this year then when? So Lola and I are going this year. Too many things can happen and next year is not guaranteed to any of us. Crossing one off my bucket list this June. I was so looking forward to meeting you in person this year but I totally understand. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Terry & Lola

Just finished a Raider 12 restoration. This tractor was my first Wheel Horse, motor built 15 plus yrs ago still looks like new inside. Before and after pictures. Tom Forgot to mention it no longer belongs to me. Hope some day to get it back.

Got out of the Wheel Horse scene many years ago when I sold it, that's why I would like it back. My first Wheel Horse and it did everything. Front tires are Deestone 4.00-8 tri ribs . Tom

I have a honda 1000 watt generator that I use for power outages. I let it sit with ethanol gas for a few months, and it is such a tiny carb, I cant get the microscopic orifices completely clean. someone mentioned a brown sandy looking buildup, that is what it had. I also had to clean the carb on my snowblower, and now boat

Jake, I am not but I'm sure my brother in law has been there. He's a big racing fan and knows a few of the NASCAR guys. I know one lives right down the road...

I say we get a couple of members together and make some wheel horse branded wheel chocks to sell at the shows, and donate the money to a good cause like Back Yard Mechanics Anonymous or at least Karl's medical bills.... All kidding aside keep up the healing.

The main thing is to watch out for marauding hordes of Wheel Horse nuts. Case in point:

or you could force the phase separation by introducing about 1 ounce of water to a gallon of gas, the ethanol will combine with the water and both will fall out of solution from the gasoline. Drain off the bottom 10% of the fuel container and add a pinch of octane booster to get back the 4 or 5 octane points you will loose in the phase separation - walla - always available ethanol free gasoline no longer eating your fuel lines, electrolytically corroding dissimilar metals in the fuel system and no longer able to produce a significant phase separated layer at the bottom of the fuel tank.

I had a slice of pizza (pepperoni) thrown at me when cleaning out the ditch of the house I bought in Virginia. Other than that...I have just found the usual trash (cans, wrappers, beer bottles, etc.)

Hi Gang, Thanks to Karl, I am going to have the books available on the Red Square Site at the exact time the Wheel Horse Show begins. There will be payment instructions and I will ship them when I return home. That way it is fair to everyone. I will make sure that plenty are set aside for those who can't attend the show. As I said, I want everyone to have one or two. It is my last and best book and there will not be a reprint. I ask that you do not wait to order when you see them posted. Once they're gone, that is it. Hope you enjoy it! Michael Martino

1st gear gives you the most Wheel Horse seat time! Life is already too fast.

One more thing, if you are considering purchasing another mower to speed up the mowing process, zero turns are great but where you gain most of the time savings is in their ability to manuver versus a tractor. As mentioned, Dixie Chopper has a very fast mower and so is the Scag Cheetah. These machines can travel around 17 mph but the cut quality is horrific at that speed. These high speeds are mainly for transport only. We sell around 150 commercial zero turns a year and trust me, once you exceed 8mph you start losing cut quality rapidly. With all of these high end zero turns at my disposal I still love my horses !!!!!!

Tonight, I ordered the last part to make it a roller. Got my high steer arms with studs and king pin bushings. Went with springless because of the weight of a 37" hummer tire and the weight of a hummer wheel. It will require adjustment as the bushing wears but I'd rather deal with that than a death wobble. Ordered my U bolt kit for the Dana 60 front and tonight, I finished boxing the frame, painted it and bolted the cab down. Also installed the alcans! Had to drill the shackles out to 5/8". Need 2 more greaseable bolts for the front eyes.... If I could only get my hands on some Hutchinson beadlocks for good money... http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn263/Mitschke88/DSCN9893.jpg Charlie
