2 pointsTrying to find out what year and model this is. My dad bout this in the 60' s sold it in 1983 and I just bought it back. Plan on restoring back close to original. But need to get more info. Are there numbers somewhere to tell me the year? I'm 99% sure it had a kouler 8 hp and I'm thinking from looking at pics a 1964/654 ??? Any help would be great.

2 pointsRyan, you really need to get a good video of that Case running.... you guys wouldn't believe the amazing put-put sound that homemade muffler has. It's just awesome! Edit.... I found this super short one from LeSueur last summer.

2 pointsI'm probably all alone here, but I really like that paint scheme and the small racing steering wheel. I would be tempted to leave it as is and just bask in the fact that I own my dad's tractor regardless of the paint and motor. Mike..............

1 pointHey Fellas.. i was bored here for a few days a go so ill went out to my shop.. to see if there was anything i could do LOL.. Hmm found some stuff.. then ill got the to make me a wheel horse sign. since i prolly never will find one here in norway. . so here are a few pict of what i did.. used as back side same stuff as they use in light sign (opalwhite cast acrylic) a board I cut slots in to acrylic stickers I had lying around that I put on then it was time to make a frame for it ... mounting the led light is about 240 of them Then it was time to try it and se how it worked.. wow it worked but the horse seems to be black.... well time to try it on the wall.. much better can se the horse head is RED but ill think it is a bit to bright.. well this was a test!! the bottom of the frame is bad so i have to make a new pice to put in there..but it light's up the shop really good..

1 pointNewbie here from Florida. Thanks for having me. I purchased my first Wheel Horse about a month or so ago. 1973 12 automatic. It is a complete tractor with 48 in deck. Everything works great. It's rusty but I sure do love it.

1 pointSpring has finally arrived in the UK (I hope). It was sunny and much warmer yesterday, overcast today but still so much warmer than it has been so it was time to wake the horses up and get them out of the stable for a dust down. Mucked out the stable while they looked on then held a briefing on their various duties for the coming season. I think they took it on board, just have to complete the servicing and get the decks back on to those that mow now. Despite widespread concerns about the ethanol in gas issue, all started and ran fine once the fuel pump had drawn gas to the carb despite the fact that there's no stabiliser in the gas and I never got round to draining the tanks or carb bowls for the winter. 1 pointFor a Suburban to sell at that price in the States it would have to be plated in 24K Gold.

1 pointI have never used it but I will give it a try. I do like to use a little Marvel Mystery Oil added to my gas. I have a '52 Dodge truck with a flat head six that definitely runs smoother when I add a little Marvel oil to the fuel tank. I also add it to a few other old farm tractors we use around the farm, as well as my little garden tractors. I think people who don't believe in this stuff probably have an engine that runs perfectly to start with so they really have nothing to measure it by. In those situations I don't think you will see many benefits if any. I believe its also a good thing to add to fuel for an old engine that would have ran on leaded gas originally. It certainly can't hurt.

1 pointThanks for all the responses. I am ver excited to get started on it. The motor has been changed to a kouler electric start but was a pull originally. My father has been passed now for 18 years but have to make a visit to mom I think she may have the original paperwork that came with it as he threw nothing out. Ha ha. That and she still has the cart that went with it and told me she wants it out of her garage. I will get some more pics posted so I know for all the knowledge her I'm getting the right parts. Thanks again

1 pointsome of the first symtoms of horse aholicism are: going on long drives in the country looking behind buildings and sheds burning up gallons of fuel for hours, putting wheel horse photos on your computer desk top and cell phone, using your vacation time going to tractor shows instead of the beach etc...,leaving your cars set out all winter because your garage is full of tractors, you keep saying that this is your last tractor but end up wanting more... these are just a few symtoms with more to come....My name is Mike and I am a tractor holic (but enjoy every minute of it!)

1 pointLen, That is a nice tractor for sure. I would take it apart, pressure wash and degrease it then do it again and then one last time. If you are looking to just clean it up I would use IR Red from Valspar in NON Restoration series. Mix some up with hardener and brush the frame and transaxle. I would use rusto aluminum metallic in a spray bomb for the wheels. Do a good job on prepping all the tins and then spray them a gun and make sure to use hardener and thinner, (Use same ir red). paint the engine with a semi gloss high heat paint. Last thing is to get some decals trom redo your horse (vendor here-Terry is a great guy and does great work). Take your time putting her back together. I would make your son help you as he will remember it for a long time. Good luck !

1 pointI'm quite good at remembering how parts bolt back on... It's working out where I have stored those parts that causes me problems
-
1 pointThe weakest ink is stronger than the sharpest mind. Something like that anyway. Take pictures and notes.
-
1 pointI like to take pictures and I separate my bolts and other parts and label every bin like this so nothing gets mixed up

1 pointThese guys all missed the best way. Go out and buy another tractor just like whatever your restoring so you'll have a tractor to refer to ! Its a perfect excuse to buy another tractor right?? Mike...........
