1 pointOur newest addition to the family arrived on February 21.....this is child number 4 so we now have 3 girls and 1 boy. We named her Annabelle Marie. Pictured below is baby "Belle", myself and Tiffany (wife), and our other 3 children Kailyn, Ellie, and Kaleb. I am going to have a lot less time for the horses now that the family has gotten larger so check out the classifieds I am letting a few go but kinda wishing I hadn't sold my 4 wheel wagon since I can only fit 3 in the 2 wheel wagon as you can see from the picture below.

1 pointStevebo's thread about his new trailer reminded me to look up trailer brake laws for a few states to plan for an upcoming trip. And, I was also curious about brake laws for the states we travel through on the way to the WH show. http://drivinglaws.aaa.com/laws/trailer-brakes/ If you google "state by state trailer brake" you'll find a lot more links that list requirements. Some states - like PA - require brakes on every trailer. Some have weight restrcitions that have to be exceeded before brakes are required. Just as a reminder, if you have a trailer and plan on crossing state lines you might want to look up their specific brake laws to make sure you're legal. It looks like regulations vary a lot depending on what kind of trailer you have (empty weight, gross weight, boat trailer, etc.). I have no idea what kind of fines there are for violating a braking law, but you can bet if you have an accident or incident it would be something that would be checked and might end up costing you. 1 pointTry this Stens dealer in Ontario Canada. They told me they would ship to Europe a couple of years ago. http://www.bantasaw.com/ Some of these bearings now have seals and require no greasing but if greased the pressure will force the snap ring off the axle. Best to replace the grease fitting with a set screw so this does not happen. Garry

1 pointGood to know there are many other D lovers out there. The muffler arrangement I inherited isn't perfect but offers food for thought and needs developing. I was looking at it today and the PO used very short elbows (hope that's what their called in the US) As a result the mufflers don't line up with the holes in the grille frame. Longer elbows (that dont turn though 90 as sharply) are needed. When I get time I'll take it all off and make the nipple and elbow arrangement correct to line up the mufflers with the holes in the frame. Altough dirt bike mufflers (learned a new US word today) have that angled exit appearance I think the actual bore passes straight out so adding a tail isn't impossible. It's always difficult to describe a sound but it grows on you. When you open up the throttle it sounds as though there's way more than 20 horses there! My other D is tucked up for the winter at present but I think the stock exhaust on that is going to sound boring by comparison. I'll try and post a video with sound over the weekend. Andy

1 pointSteve,I'll save the old ones as well as the first pair of new ones.......I realized the originals could have used something more substantial than a woodruff key but not until I had already made a new one with a woodruff key.I am going at lunch to see about some more stock and I am going to make another set......with square key stock, that should give the more sirface area for the key to seat to. I know I am turning this into much more than it needs but I'm learning a lot as I go so that's good

1 pointThanks a bunch Chuck for all your help and tips. You're an encyclopedia of Horsey knowledge. I do have a meter and will check for voltage at the relay terminal, which by the way I also replaced the original relay as well. I'm digging into my stash of factory and NOS parts that I accumulated over the past 15 years or so. I did clean and resplice all the wires that were suspect at the ignition switch but I guess I'll have to check them all. One thing I did notice was that all of the female connectors were pretty gunked up with dirt and grime from 23 years of use. Would you suggest that I entertain the thought of replacing all of the connectors as well or just try to clean them as best as I can and see if that works ? I'll poke around some more to see if I can discover the problem here and will update results. Thanks again Chuck K.

1 pointit really depends on where you live, you couldnt find a horse like that for 400,up here they ask 400 for a similar tractor like that with no deck, not to get anyone mad at me,if you are in a horse freindly area you will get less,if theres not many like here you get a little more, nice lookin tractor by the way

1 pointYou Battery Load Testor could spray the connectors while he's there, then nothing would dare get close to them.

1 pointBe prepared! Isn't that the BSA motto? You are correct, lots of shenanagans in the ointment department!

1 pointTough to place a value on it without seeing it, so pictures will help. Depending on what deck it has, how well the engine runs, and overall body condition, $400.00 may not be too bad of a price. I would offer less if it were me. The K181 is a good little engine, but it is power-poor if you plan on plowing on upgrades or blowing heavy snow. As a lawn mowing tractor, you should be fine as long as it has the stock 36" deck. My neighbor had a nice C-81 with a snow blower and a 42" deck. Snow blower bogged down on grades, and 42" deck was okay, but tended to slow down in tall grass. He re-powered with a K321 and nothing stops him now. Just my worth.
