2 pointstime for some new meats on the c125. ive wanted to put wider turfs on this thing for a while, that meant at least wider wheels on the rear. the fronts are already the wider 5 3/8 (i think) but the rears are the standard 7.... so i hunted around for some 12 x 8.5 wheels, i had one with a cub offset that needed the center moved inward to wh spec, and i managed to find a jd 8.5 with the right offset on ebay. after cutting out the center of the wrong offset wheel by grinding away the spotwelds, i repositioned it the same as the other wheel and welded it in place. a good set of 5 3/8 fronts i had laying around and the 12 x 8.5s were then powdercoated in oyster white... from one of kellys posts on his rat tractor i really liked the look of 24 x 12 x 12 turfs on the 8.5 rims. he had a few pics posted and they fit the 520 wheels well. from another post, sparky mentioned that he got tires from http://www.stopandgotires.com so i looked them up and the prices were great, plus free shipping until the end of the month. i went with carlisle turf masters in 24 x 12 -12 for the rear and 16 x 7.50 -8 for the front. i mounted the rears and they were an absolute b##ch. just couldnt get the beads to seal without spending at least 30 minutes on each one. tried the ratchet strap in the middle, no strap at all, standing on my head, doing a little dance, you name it. never had so much problem sealing beads with tires for these things before. maybe leaving them for a few days with something inside to spread the tire might help, but i was impatient and wanted to see how they looked on the wheels. one tire still didnt seat the bead correctly in one area, but i left it with 30 psi in it and will deal with that tomorrow..... heres a few pics of the tires and the rears mounted. had to put one next to the tractor to see how it looked. i will get the fronts mounted (need tubes for them as the insides of the rims at the seat were a little rusty and left pitting) and then get them all on the tractor......

1 pointI tried very hard to live in peace with those little terrorist but nothing worked out very well. I too had the chewed up fuel lines, gnawed on plug wires etc. Then the little SOB's chewed holes in the lids to my brand new 40 dollar each garbage cans. And at that point I declared war on them. I will say this I don't think they all had these bad habits but a few did and there running mates did as well. Once I reduced there numbers I do not see any real damage so far. I tried shooting them, setting these huge mouse type traps etc but that didn't quite give me the results I was looking for. What I did was get one of those traps that trap them live. It works great and is easy to bait with old bread or just about anything you can find. Seems they really like stale fortune cookies. LOL I normally catch 1 every day and maybe 2 a day on weekends when I am home and have the time to screw with them.. Now I simply relocate them. Ok so maybe its not the most humane way to deal with them because I relocate them to my local landfill. Hey they wanted in my garbage cans so who am I to deny them? I just carry the trap in the garage and let them meet the business end of my Crossman 760 pump. Of course you could really relocated them I it would help you feel better about it. But once you really reduce there numbers It will make a difference. But there will always be more that move into there area but it will take a while. Now I did catch the guy next doors cat one night and big ugly possom too but I just let them go which is something you cant do with poison. Anyway, Good Luck

1 pointI have been using Firefox for years and am not having any issues. I am running Windows XP on my desktop, and Windows 7 on the laptop. If you Google "problems with Firefox and Windows 8" you will see that you are not alone in your frustration.

1 pointI Bought a 1974 B-100 a few weeks ago. Here are a few pictures. I bought it from the 2nd owner who had it for last 8 years. I am going to use it as a worker for now. Everything works well and the tractor was always maintained both owners actually kept all the records. Besides the 37" snow thrower and tire chains it also comes with a 36" side discharge deck. The tires are original too. I plan on cleaning it up, buffing and painting a few of the parts that need it. I'll post some more pictures when I'm done.

1 pointThanks Andy, Pm and email received. Thanks Stephen, lol yeah she sure has evolved since I started the build. The belt was coming off at the belt tensioner and occasionally the rear trans pulley when the belt decided it wanted to be even more of a pain! Good thinking about the L shaped bit of metal, I'm hoping it won't be needed now but your idea is stashed away just in case it is needed. Thanks Brad. After Mondays fun and games with the drive belt jumping off too many times, the time had come to get it sorted (again) so I could enjoy all of the engines power without the belt jumping off.. Part of the problem is the tensioner pulley.. The small lips each side work just fine if your using a standard length drive belt, but a belt that's twice the length is a bit different and bounces around a lot more.. I guess you can guess where I'm going with this A spare pulley had some extra lip welded on.. Cutting the two rings of steel took quite a while to machine to size and shape.. Sorry about the blurred photo, my brain must of been having a bad focus moment! Andy (the good chap that he is) sent me a couple of WH belt tensioner photo's to give me a few ideas.. Thank you Sir, you inspired me to come up with this idea.. Simple really, a bunch of bearings bolted above the belt with a strengthening bracket behind.. Now I know it's starting to look like I'm getting a dexion fetish, but I wanted to see if the idea worked before cutting up good steel These bearings do not put any tension on the belt, they are just there to stop the belt jumping up and down so much.. While this was going on Pete was busy working on axe head number 2.. It's almost finished.. Soooooo.. With the drive belt sorted and Pete finished playing "mad axe man" for the day there was only one thing left to do... Yep, go for a drive It's made it this far.. I might of got a bit carried away taking photo's at this point.. A couple of action shots And of course..
