Any time you can save a horse from the glue factory for scrap...are you kidding me. We want pictures. I have saved a couple that way and now they are like brand new. I saved this one a few years ago...no way it was going to be glue...

So saw this online had to check it out, I like 417's, it will need some work, but I figure a winter project that I will power wash and strip this weekend. It is a mid 80's 417-a with the eaton11, 48" SD deck, and a rear plow hitch. The 48" SD deck works well, just some dents, no rot. The tractor appears solid. It basically need to be stripped painted, and lubed, most things on it work including the parking break. It needs some dents banged out, paint ripped off, and some odds and ends, it really needs more time then money. Per the previous owner the rear fender and the motor were replaced at some point as he was trying to fix it up. He also included a new seat, OEM blades, and OEM new belts. It is a project for sure. It also has an electric fuel pump, not sure why. VIDEO:

I'm with Sousakerry2 on that. Eat the deer. Then, with a couple of Busch Lights under my belt? Crawl underneath the side and sit between the frame and box side and push the dent out as good as you can . And "VOILA". You now have a horse haulin' work truck that you won't mind getting dents and dings in. You can't even see that side going down the road . With any luck, there was enough scent left , that maybe another one will hit it in the same spot and you will have meat for the winter. Then take the insurance money and put it in a savings acct. for the next truck. Then run the wheels off this one and you already have money saved for the next one . Good luck

I did not need another horse but I could not pass on this one. Saw this on Craigslist, a 1995 416-8 with 42" rear discharge recycler deck. There were no pictures but when I saw the price I got on the phone and I was the first to get to the seller and I told him I will take it. The seller thought it had a Kohler engine and his reason for selling was he wanted something with a cup holder. Here it is: I could not post more pictures but the model number is 73420, serial number 5900554. There are only 319 hours on the clock and other than a few nicks on the front wheels there is not a spot of rust on the tractor or the deck. The seat has a few rips and the treads on the foot rests are gone. The twin ONAN is clean and starts and runs perfect. It was only an hour away and I picked it up last night so it would not get into someone else's hands. The price? $400.00

86 had louver hood and idiot lights on the dash, 85 had a smooth hood and no idiot lights. The cam plate may need to be adjusted for full motion for the hydro. It will have the slower trans gearing as the 85 has the faster geared trans. Most likely the mechanical fuel pump went bad and someone bypassed it with a electric one.

Thanks how do you know it is an 86? Loving starts tomorrow. Anyone know why there would be an electric duel pump? Also it needs a points cover do you think any kohler points cover would work? I also notices the air cleaner. Seems to be for the engine, but off of another tractor. Also I am not getting full travel on the motion control lever, any ideas?

If Frank is near me I have some parts he can have to rebuild his tractor. I have a frame front axle hood and I am sure a bunch of other parts. They were given to me so I can pay it forward. Jim

Would rather crush the car, that's insured. Ouch. I'm sayin' a few prayers for Sandy sufferers. Next to me here in Eastern PA, a closed factory. The lot was used to stage power company service trucks. One day the lot filled with Georgia Power trucks. Must have been 40 trucks in all! Thank you Georgia!
