My other project this winter besides the flood tractors was building a stainless steel sickle bar mower for my 854 I'll post some pic's with it on the tractor tomorrow Brian

When I bought the decal set for my 1055, I didnt realize I had recieved the wrong decal for the dash. After having to replace my choke and throttle cables, I had ruined the bottom half of my decal. So I came up with a fix. I bought a roll of carbon fiber vinyl from my local automotive store. Although its not original, I think it looks pretty cool. What do you think?

I and my wife (Chris) tried to take pictures of the people at the show this year. I do have a couple of people that I can't remember their names. Send me a PM or post and I will edit and correct. The heat was killing me, record temps on Thursday...Saturday was much nicer. This is what it looked like when I left home Wednesday. We sat for 5 hours (from 3:00 to 8:00AM while an accident was cleared in front of us on Rt#80/94 in Gary, Ind. Not a good start to a long road trip. Finally made it to Toledo and dropped my wagon off for Brrly1 (John). Buckrancher (Brian), Steve Bo and Uncle Bo Brian, Fireman (Jeff) and Steve Jeff and Uncle Bo Brian, Ken B and Jeff little Bos RMaynard (Bob), Stevasaurus, Squonk (Mike) and AMC Rules00 (Craig). Then c161rat (Joe) shows up at Jim's. Cheryl, Joe and Jim. Thanks Joe...great to meet you and yours. and always good seeing my good friend Jim...thanks for your help also mate. I finally get in one of the pictures... We took 2 days coming back and stayed in Port Clinton, Ohio Sunday ***ht. I could not resist getting a picture of Ryans horse with Lake Erie in back. Stopped and had breakfast in Toledo with Brrly1 (John). Then we stopped in Niles, Mich. and met up with Duke and dropped of the Onan that Jay in NC had given me. Good seeing you again Bob. And, at last, made it home with all the precious cargo in the truck. It was a great trip and a great show. I got to meet many members and see some that I have met in the past years. Almost forgot...dang deer ran out in front of my truck as I was coming down one of those steep grades on Rt#30 in the mountains. I was only going about 25 mph and managed to stop so I missed the deer...by about 5 inches only. Luckily, the guy behind me was able to stop also...he laid back a little more the rest of the way. Let face it gang, most of us have a decent collection and just are not willing to pay as much as we were a few years ago. Most of us do not need another horse but may want another. I will pay a lot less for something I want rather than something I need. Most prices were a bit high, but you do have to pay for the convenience of having a large selection at one place. Best advise is have fun shopping and dont spend more than you can afford. Just be thankful we have some horse fans willing to put on a show.

these are the goodies i bought at the show, 1 pair of aggs for the rj, rj gas tank, nos rj wheelhorse drive belt, 1 pair of rj studed front tires,spindles&tie rod, 2 pair of c161 front tires&rims 1 with spindles,1 set of 48in sd blades, 1 pto bearing, 3, 5 series belt guards to do the vent modifaction on. and this is special. 2 items from j.dog one is a starter generator bracket for my 1077 the other a hub for my raider 9. the reason they are special is that at the 2011 show when i bought parts jordan gave me his biz card with * 5 * printed on the back. he said a couple of months ago that it was good for 5%off well when i presented my card he GAVE me the parts! said i was the only one who gave the card back. so what i did was donate the parts money to there Max Nunn fund. mrs. jdog had a seperate bank bag just for this. they are A # 1 in my book! then on the way back to the motel at gettsyburg we stoped at Moon Acre Iron Works on rt 30 to check out his wares & bought 2 of these. we had a great time & met lots of great people. looking forward to next year Jay

I cringe when I see people horsing the thin cut off wheels through all kinds of cuts with their face right in there. Those things can fly apart at great speed. I always try and keep as much of myself out of the plane of the wheel as most pieces will fly straight out perpendicular to the shaft.

OUCH! Been there done that. I've got a nice scar on my chin from the same thing happening about 15 years ago, unfortunately safety glasses don't protect your face. If it's any consolation Matt, I've heard it said...chicks dig scars. Feel better. :thumbs:

Hello All, Another great time at another great show in the books.... already can't wait to see you guys next year! Most of you already know I'm a Briggs and Stratton fan---yah I know..... I can hear the sighs from here! Anyways--I get a call while I'm at the show that an ex Toro Wheel Horse dealer (Still handles Toro push mowers and snow throwers..) I deal with got in a GT1100 with a deck and that he wants to dump it for $50. I buy it sight un-seen and figure it is a pile of wreckage that I bought for parts. A fellow Redsquare member that couldn't go dropped it off at my house.... I got up this morning and took a walk to have a look and was very pleasantlly greeted by this tractor... it gave me the sad puppy dog that needs a home look and it was love at first sight! It looks like the motor has accorns and a mouse condo in it.... I will get it running and I think shes yet another keeper! wooooooooo hoooooooooooooo!!!! Briggs power !!!!

$1600.00 would be a fair price for that machine in the Erie area with the 60 inch deck if it's clean and has under 1000 hours. You can sometimes find them for less in other locales, but price will be the same when you add costs to get it to you. -Mark-

The "0" probably makes the casting for that transmission as being made in 1960. That lends credence to the fact it might have been a RJ35 and updated later on. Most 58's have a "8" or "9" at the end.

Very nice, the fact that you have had it since you were a kid really adds to it. It looks as though there may have been a 327 stuffed under the hood at some point.

I guess it could be a RJ58 with a older hood, or it had the update kit installed, on the frame right behind the hood on top of the rail is there a ID tag decal, or glue left from a decal?

Your tractor has an RJ35 hood (55 or 56) and the front rims and tires look like RJ35. The tranny is 58/59 and frame. I was told by a reliable source that wheel horse offered a conversion kit for the 35's to change the 35 to a 58. VinsRJ may be able to add to this. It looks like this may be one of those machines that were combined. I believe the other one that is know to have had this conversion was also out of NJ. Either way, very nice machine. Let me know if you are looking to sell it...

I'd say no if the machine has less than 8 or 900 hours on it, and is in very nice shape, I have a clean 1995 520H with 407 hours on it I want $1400 or best offer with out a deck.

RJs with smooth hoods were not RJ-58s, they were RJ-35s. (and on the rare occasion, RJ-25s) What does it have for a transmission, gear box with shifter, or large variable speed belt tensioner? Later RJ-35s were made with WHEEL HORSE embossed in the hood, but I've never heard of an RJ-58 with a smooth hood. Pictures would help tremendously. and :WRS:

Yep, so bada$$ I had to snap a couple picts of it, notice it's signed by Cecil on the rear fender pan too. Sounded pretty heavily modified when he burped the throttle. Buckrancher captured it in Fridays mid day parade pulling the sled in his photos too.

Too many awesome people around to allow my Techie to go down, that's for sure. Pretty disappointed with it that morning, but ultimately...I'm glad I brought it with. something like this would be a fabulous addition to the tractor, and he could use it to scoop up the stuff that he is running over...or maybe you could build an FEL on a similar principle...

The Hondas are: 11 hp Japanese-made Honda, and 13 hp Chinese Honda (from Harbour Freight). The Japanese Honda has been going for 16 years without a peep. The Chinese unit is one full season old and hasn't peeped yet. The seats are vintage implement seats found at yard sales and flea markets. The springs are old JD's found on Ebay. And let me tell you the baby-buggy ride that results is really easy on the back and neck. Tom in RI

I went to the hobby shop and got some brass tubing for model airplanes, mike it out ,redrilled carb body to the standard size of the tubing ,works great.About 1 hr tedious work but $1.50 parts.
