From first light on the way to, until sundown on the way home from the show...this is what I saw filling up my rear view mirror. Seems funny to me how I never get tired of this little guy following me everywhere I go. What a great time it was...I already can't wait for next years show.

I have been going to the WHCCS for 5 years straight and have always had a great time and have met some wonderful people, but this year espeacially I truly felt like this was a family affair. Arriving Thursday at noon I could see coming around the corner that the grounds were alive with people and I thought to myself that our usual site would definitely be taken. After registering I found that our site was the only one in that row not occupied (and it was shaded!!!!), almost as if it was understood that it was our site. As soon as I got out of my truck I was greeted by our neighbor who was also our neighbor last year who remembered that my wife was pregnant last year and right away asked if I had had a boy or girl. That same kind soul offered my cousin and I a fan for that night to be able to sleep with that humidity and then offered us supper the next night. I must have been asked by at least two people how my father (formariz aka Cas) was and if he would be attending (retirement party my mother dragged him to on Friday). Our good friend Paul and Dawn from Canada not only brought an embroidered WH shirt for my son but also a Fire Dept patch from Paul's dept (both of us firefighters). My wife and son could not attend this year, but she was absolutely blown away by everyone's kindness and good wishes. We sincerely enjoy and look forward to this show every year because WH means more to us than a little red tractor. Thank you everyone and we are looking forward to next year. My only request for next year would be that the national anthem and morning prayer be done on Saturday as well for those who could not make it the day before. I noticed that this year it was only done on Friday. This practice was something I always admired and enjoyed, and thought was very appropriate for a family function. Not to mention that for most of us the pride that we have for this brand is its very American story. Just my opinion. Alex from northern NJ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJbPiPKmIOM&feature=g-hist Here's a quick little video link of my buddy Zack and me cruising the show today. If you notice half way through, he dumps his clutch on me. What was that all about? The kid left me no alternative but to dust that Kohler with my little Techie... you know...had to show 'em who's boss. Tecumseh's rule today. :teasing-poke:

I got a phone call from my brother and he said he knows some one that has some old wheel horse tractors in his barn and he wants them gone. I asked him if he new how old they were and he said the guy told him that he bought one brand new and the other one he got some time after. I could not wait to go see them but I had to wait a week before he would be able to let me check them out. That was one long week. I checked them out a brought them home with me.

Alex, It was good to see you again, you know both your dad and you mean a lot to me because of the enthusiam that you show for the Wheel Horses as a father and son. You mentioned to me about the national anthem being played on Saturday and I will try my best to get it done ! Wild Bill in Richmond, VA

Here are a few pictures from the show My wife and I at our spot. I brought my 1960 Suburban. 1956 Pond RJ and 1964 1045. I also brought my 314-8 I use for mowing. My dad is in this shot with the 314-8 hooked to our "Hauler" I made a sketch of the "hauler" but didn't have time to fabricate it so my Dad and Uncle did the fabrication. I did the paint and final assembly just in time. Since my Dad is 83 with bad knees the "hauler" came in handy. Some random shots of the show.

Thanks for the comps on the 160 HD guys ! I know that I talked to a LOT of people this weekend, but I am horrible with names I'm glad that you enjoyed seeing it, it was a fun build. I even got to talk to Ed Cole about it for a bit. He still remembered the 595, but that's a whole other story.

Hard to say what's what after all the years go by and the Horses change hands a few times. The 73 Auto hulk I got had the "Nut Banger" shift lever. The 76 C-160 I have has the hood ornament and It has a flip seat fender pan that it's not supposed to have. Glad you got a deal Mike. I take it the folks showed up to haul it,although I'd like to see a Grand Maquis heading down the road with a big Horse hanging out the back! :ychain:

every year, I'm fascinated by the sheer number of kids driving around, in groups and singles on different rigs! they seem to be having all the fun and us old guys/gals are just standing around jaw jacking! it's good to see the next generation outside and enjoying the red machines we love!

I can understand your dilemma. I have had 5-520's and still have two and I have bought two 20 hp. Onans with valve seats out. The thing you have to have is a machine shop that you can trust to do the job of replacing the seat correctly. You don't have to take the whole engine apart to have the job done but you do have to remove it.. Now the ones I have had done were lower hour engines (all well under a 1000 hrs. according to the PO's) but I did have one of those that chucked the seat again a year later and had to have the block welded and seat opening re-sized for a new seat.. That was much cheaper than a complete overhaul, say $300 total plus my time and aggravation. I had thought about a replacement but with the price of a comparable replacement it was more than I could afford. Hey I have about $2000 in the truck I drive why should I have a $2500 to $3000 in a mower? Just my opinion.

Not quite "got duels", more like "had duels" since changed for larger single tires. Handy for extra traction when taking off

I finally got the parts back from my painter. It took awhile, but I think it was worth it. I'm starting to get the B-100 back together. I found a easy way to strip paint. Try Easy off oven cleaner. Spray it on, cover it in plastic,. Leave it outside in the sun for 15-20 minutes. Then use a 3m pad or power wash old paint off. Be sure to wear rubber gloves. KB

Well, my dad had a great idea. I have a CNC controlled router in my basement. I can take a picture of the stamping for my seat and use that to make an aluminum plate of the stamping. Then I can heat it in the oven, and stamp a blank sheet of vinyl. Then an upholsterer can make a new seat cover with "original" stamping. Ideas?
